Why Will You Come Out More Than a Conqueror Today?
By Riqui Ricón*
Deliver me, I pray thee, from the
hand of my brother, from the hand of Esau: for I fear him, lest he will come and smite me, and the mother
with the children. And thou saidst, I will surely
do thee good, and make thy seed as the sand of the sea, which cannot be
numbered for multitude. (Genesis 32:11-12, KJV)
If perhaps you are going through some difficulty today, it would be wise to pay attention to what happened to Jacob
when he was returning to his land and learned that his brother Esau was coming
to meet him with 400 men. Jacob found himself in a very grave situation
because, although more than twenty years had passed without seeing his brother,
he remembered that Esau had sworn to kill him.
What is one to do in such pressing circumstances? Jacob prayed, but he did not
pray in an ordinary way; in fact, his prayer was so extraordinary that it not
only earned him his brother's favor but also led God Himself to decide to change his name from Jacob (supplanter) to
Israel.
What was his secret? His secret was simple yet extraordinary at the same time:
He decided to believe God!
Jacob
had the Word that God had given him, and he used it to remind both God and his circumstances that this,
the Word of God, would be fulfilled regardless
of the conditions of the moment:
And thou saidst,
I will surely do thee good,
and make thy seed as the sand of the sea, which cannot be numbered for
multitude.
To apply this to your life today, just ask yourself, what Word do I have from
God?
Let none that wait on thee be ashamed:
let them be ashamed which transgress
without cause. Good and upright is the Lord: therefore will he teach sinners in
the way. The meek will he guide in judgment: and the meek will he teach his
way. All the paths of the Lord are mercy and truth unto such as keep his
covenant and his testimonies. For
thy name's sake, O Lord, pardon mine iniquity; for it is great. What man is he
that feareth the Lord? him shall he teach in the way that he shall choose. His
soul shall dwell at ease; and his seed shall
inherit the earth. The secret of the Lord is with them that fear him; and he
will shew them his covenant. Mine eyes are ever toward the Lord; for he shall
pluck my feet out of the net. (Psalm 25:3, 8-15, KJV)
Do these seem like a small thing to you? You will never be put to
shame! Your enemies (who are God’s enemies) will be ashamed! He will teach you
the way you should walk! He will guide you in judgment! He will teach you your
path! You will walk on paths of mercy
and truth! He will forgive
ALL your sins! He will teach you the way you must choose!
You will dwell at ease! Your descendants will
inherit the earth! You will delight in intimate communion
with Him! He will
make His covenant known to you! He will pluck your feet out of the net!
This, my beloved,
is a Word of Honor; it is the Word of God. And if God said it,
then He is going to fulfill it; if God spoke it, then He is going to execute
it.
Heaven and earth shall pass away: but my words shall not pass away.
(Luke 21:33, KJV)
Indeed, because of the Word God had given, Jacob's
encounter with Esau had
a happy ending.
Now, in light of this testimony of God's
honor, meditate on how much more certainty you have—as
a Born-Again Child of God—in the face of any problem,
affliction, or illness.
For God so loved
the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not
perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to
condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. (John
3:16-17, KJV)
God loves you so much that He preferred to give up His own Son rather
than lose you.
He
that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall
he not with him also freely give us all things? (Romans
8:32, KJV)
All things! Amazing!
No matter what your current
condition is, God is willing
to answer you, and He will do it for the sake of His Name, for the love
of His Word, and for love of you. Although your sins may have been great, He
has already forgiven you in the Blood of the New Covenant; by believing and
receiving the sacrifice that His Son Jesus made out of love for you, He raises
you to the privileged status of a true and legitimate Child of God.
See what great love the Father has
lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are! The reason the world does not know us is that it did not know him. (1
John 3:1, NIV)
Dear friend, you are no longer alone! God, your Father, has not left you, nor will
He leave you. You can trust and rest in Him, for God has never failed His
Word.
For the Son of man is come to seek and to save that which
was lost. (Luke
19:10, KJV)
The Son of Man, Jesus Christ, came to this
world to seek you. You, who were once dead because of your disobedience and
your many sins. You, who lived in sin, just like the rest of the people, obeying
the devil—the leader
of the powers of the unseen world—who is the spirit at work in the
hearts of those who refuse to obey God. That is how you lived in the past,
following the desires of your passions and the inclination of your sinful
nature. By your very nature, you were
an object of God's anger just like everyone else. But God is so rich in mercy
and loved you so much that, even though you were dead because of your sins, He
gave you life when He raised Christ from the dead. (It is only by God’s grace
that you have been saved!) For He raised you from the dead along with Christ
and seated you with Him in the heavenly realms, because you are united with
Christ Jesus. So, in these times, God can point to you as an example
of the incredible wealth of His grace
and kindness toward
you, as seen in all He has done for you, who are
united with Christ Jesus. God saved you by His grace when you believed. You can
take no credit for this; it is a gift from God. Salvation is not a reward for
the good things you have done, so you cannot boast about being saved. For you
are God’s masterpiece. He created you anew in Christ Jesus, so that you can do
the good things He planned for you long ago. (Ephesians 2:1-10, NIV)
So, with all certainty, let’s pray out loud:
Beloved heavenly Father,
I come before You this day with the full certainty that You will keep him in perfect peace,
whose mind is stayed on Thee; because I trust in Thee. I believe You, Lord; I
believe Your Word, the Bible. I know perfectly
well that Your Word, the Bible, is the Truth.
And I know that even this certainty has been given to me
by You because of the great Love with which You love me. Thank You, Lord Jesus,
because while I was in darkness You transferred me into Your marvelous light;
while I was dead in trespasses and sins You have given me life, and the life
You have bought for me with Your Blood is a good, full, and abundant life. I am
a Child of the King of kings and Lord of lords! Therefore, although I may be
facing problems and afflictions today, I declare in Your name Jesus Christ that
I will move forward in freedom and victory, in health and prosperity, for it is
written concerning me that in all things I am more than a conqueror through Him
who loves me, Christ Jesus. I resist and cast out of my life all sickness,
poverty, sadness, depression, loneliness, fear, and anguish. I cover my entire
being—spirit, soul, and body— with the Blood of Jesus, and I call forth and
receive all the health, love, peace, and joy that You, Jesus Christ, bought for
me by dying on the cross. I am healed! I am free! I am prosperous! I am
blessed! And I insist, I am a Born- Again Child of God! Thanks be to You, Lord
Jesus. Amen.
Important Note:
How do I become a Child of God? How do I establish a relationship with the
Almighty?
Just say the following prayer
aloud, putting all your attention
and heart into what you are saying to God:
Lord Jesus, I believe that You are the Son of
God. That You came into this world, born
of the virgin Mary, to pay for all my sins, and I have
been a sinner. Therefore, today I say that I accept. I accept Your
sacrifice on the cross! I accept Your precious
Blood shed to the last drop out of love for me! I open my
heart to You and invite You in
because I want, Lord Jesus, that from today and forever You be my only and sufficient Savior, my
God, my King, and my Lord.
Thank You, Almighty God, because with this
simple prayer and profession of faith I have passed from death to Life, I have been transferred from darkness
to Your marvelous
Light. Today I have been Born Again! God, now I am Your
Child! Now You are my Father! I will never be alone again! I will never live
defeated again. In the name of Jesus. Amen.
Three Recommendations:
What just happened by you recognizing Jesus Christ as the Lord and
Savior of your life, according
to God's Word, is that you have been Born Again. No longer
as an ordinary human being, subject to the law of sin and death, but now as a
legitimate and authentic Child of God, Born Again, exactly like Jesus Christ, who is now your Older Brother. Therefore,
I give you these three, very important, recommendations:
1.
Pray. Praying is talking with God. So, find a quiet
place where you can begin talking to Him about everything. Do it out loud, and you will notice
how God always responds to your heart.
2.
Read and meditate
on the Word of God. The Bible
is the Word of God, so
get a Bible and start reading and meditating on it. How do you begin? It’s very simple. Depending on the day,
look up the reading program “The
Bible in One Year” and do the corresponding readings. You can get this program at: Through The Bible In One Year (palabradehonor.org). You will notice
that the program is set up so you can print it as a booklet.
3.
In prayer with God, your Father, look for and join a
Christian church or congregation where the Word of God is taught based
on the Good News, which are
the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Luke
19 And Jesus entered
and passed through
Jericho.
2 And, behold,
there was a man named
Zacchaeus, which was the chief
among the publicans, and he was rich.
3 And he sought to see Jesus who he was; and could not for the press, because he was little of stature.
4 And he ran before,
and climbed up into a sycomore tree to see him: for he
was to pass that way.
5 And when Jesus came to the place, he looked up, and saw him, and said unto him, Zacchaeus, make haste, and come
down; for to day I must abide at thy house.
6 And he made haste, and came down, and received him joyfully.
7 And when they saw it, they all murmured, saying, That he was gone to be guest with a man that is a sinner.
8 And Zacchaeus
stood, and said unto the
Lord: Behold, Lord, the half of
my goods I give to the poor; and if I have taken any thing from any man by false
accusation, I restore him fourfold.
9 And Jesus said unto him, This day is salvation come to this house, forsomuch as he also is a son of Abraham.
10 For the Son of man is come to seek and to save that which was lost.
11 And as they heard these things,
he added and spake a parable, because
he was nigh to Jerusalem, and because they thought that the kingdom of
God should immediately appear.
12 He said therefore, A certain nobleman
went into a far country
to receive for himself a kingdom, and to return.
13 And he called his ten servants,
and delivered them ten pounds,
and said unto them, Occupy
till I come.
14 But his citizens hated him, and sent a message after him, saying,
We will not have this man to reign over us.
15 And it came to
pass, that when he was returned, having received the kingdom, then he commanded
these servants to be called unto him, to whom he had given the money, that he might know how much every man had gained
by trading.
16 Then came the first,
saying, Lord, thy pound hath gained ten pounds.
17 And he said unto him, Well, thou good servant: because
thou hast been faithful in a very little, have thou
authority over ten cities.
18 And the second came, saying, Lord, thy pound hath gained five pounds.
19 And he said likewise
to him, Be thou also over five cities.
20 And another
came, saying, Lord, behold, here is thy pound, which I have kept laid up in a napkin:
21 For I feared thee, because thou art an austere man: thou takest up that thou layedst not down, and reapest
that thou didst not sow.
22 And he saith unto
him, Out of thine own mouth will I judge thee, thou wicked servant.
Thou knewest that I was an austere
man, taking up that I laid
not down, and reaping that I did not sow:
23 Wherefore then gavest not thou my money into the bank, that at my
coming I might have required mine own with usury?
24 And he said unto them that stood by, Take from him the pound, and give it to him that hath ten pounds.
25 (And they said unto him, Lord, he hath ten pounds.)
26 For I say unto you, That unto every one which hath shall be given; and from him that hath not, even that he hath
shall be taken away from him.
27 But those mine enemies,
which would not that I should reign over them, bring hither, and slay them before
me.
Genesis
32 And Jacob went on his way, and the angels of God met him.
2 And when Jacob saw them, he said, This is God's host: and he called
the name of that place Mahanaim.
3 And Jacob sent messengers before him to Esau his brother unto the land of
Seir, the country of Edom.
4 And he commanded them, saying, Thus shall ye speak unto my lord Esau; Thy servant Jacob saith thus, I have
sojourned with Laban, and stayed there until now:
5 And I have oxen,
and asses, flocks,
and menservants, and womenservants:
and I have sent to tell my lord, that I may find grace in thy sight.
6 And the messengers returned
to Jacob, saying,
We came to thy brother
Esau, and also he cometh to meet thee, and four hundred men with him.
7 Then Jacob was greatly
afraid and distressed: and he divided
the people that was with him, and the flocks, and
herds, and the camels, into two bands;
8 And said,
If Esau come to the one company,
and smite it, then the other
company which is left shall escape.
9 And Jacob said, O God of my father
Abraham, and God of my father Isaac, the
LORD which saidst unto me, Return unto thy country, and
to thy kindred, and I will deal well with thee:
10 I am not worthy
of the least of all the mercies, and of all the truth, which thou hast shewed unto thy servant;
for with my staff I passed over this Jordan; and now I am become two bands.
11 Deliver me, I
pray thee, from the hand of my brother, from the hand of Esau: for I fear him, lest he will come and smite me, and the mother with the
children.
12 And thou saidst, I will surely
do thee good, and make thy seed as the sand
of the sea, which cannot be numbered for multitude.
13 And he lodged there
that same night;
and took of that which came to his
hand a present for Esau his brother;
14 Two hundred
she goats, and twenty he goats, two hundred ewes, and
twenty rams,
15 Thirty milch camels with their colts,
forty kine, and ten bulls,
twenty she asses, and ten
foals.
16 And he delivered
them into the hand of his servants, every drove by themselves; and said unto his servants,
Pass over before me, and put a space
betwixt drove and drove.
17 And he commanded the foremost, saying,
When Esau my brother meeteth thee, and asketh thee, saying,
Whose art thou? and whither goest thou? and whose are these before thee?
18 Then thou shalt say, They be thy servant
Jacob's; it is a present
sent unto my lord Esau: and,
behold, also he is behind us.
19 And so commanded he the second,
and the third, and all that followed
the droves, saying, On this manner shall ye speak unto Esau, when ye
find him.
20 And say ye moreover,
Behold, thy servant
Jacob is behind
us. For he said, I will appease him with the present that
goeth before me, and afterward I will see his face; peradventure he will accept
of me.
21 So went the present
over before him: and himself
lodged that night in the company.
22 And he rose up
that night, and took his two wives, and his two womenservants, and his eleven sons, and passed over the ford Jabbok.
23 And he took them,
and sent them over the brook, and sent over that he had.
24 And Jacob was left alone; and there wrestled
a man with him until
the breaking of the day.
25 And when he saw that he prevailed not against him, he touched
the hollow of his thigh; and
the hollow of Jacob's thigh was out of joint, as he wrestled with him.
26 And he said, Let me go, for the day breaketh.
And he said, I will not let thee
go, except thou bless me.
27 And he said unto him, What is thy name? And he said,
Jacob.
28 And he said, Thy name shall
be called no more Jacob,
but Israel: for as a prince hast thou power with God and with
men, and hast prevailed.
29 And Jacob asked him, and said, Tell me, I pray thee, thy name. And he said, Wherefore is it that thou dost ask
after my name? And he blessed him there.
30 And Jacob called the name of the place Peniel: for I have seen God face to face, and my life is preserved.
31 And as he passed
over Penuel the sun rose upon him, and he halted upon his thigh.
32 Therefore the children
of Israel eat not of the sinew which shrank, which is upon the hollow of the thigh, unto this day: because he touched the hollow of Jacob's thigh in the sinew that shrank.
33 And Jacob
lifted up his eyes, and looked, and, behold, Esau came, and with
him four hundred men. And he divided the children unto Leah, and unto Rachel,
and unto the two handmaids.
2 And he put the handmaids and their children
foremost, and Leah and her children after, and Rachel and Joseph
hindermost.
3 And he passed over before them, and bowed himself to the ground seven
times, until he came near to his brother.
4 And Esau ran to meet him, and embraced
him, and fell on his neck, and kissed him: and they wept.
5 And he lifted up
his eyes, and saw the women and the children; and said, Who are those with thee? And he said, The children
which God hath graciously
given thy servant.
6 Then the handmaidens came near, they and their children, and they bowed themselves.
7 And Leah also with her children
came near, and bowed themselves: and after came Joseph
near and Rachel, and they bowed themselves.
8 And he said, What meanest thou by all this drove which I met? And he said, These are to find grace in the
sight of my lord.
9 And Esau said, I have enough,
my brother; keep that thou hast unto thyself.
10 And Jacob said, Nay, I pray thee, if now I have found grace in thy sight,
then receive my present at my hand: for therefore I have seen thy face,
as though I had seen the face of God, and thou wast pleased with me.
11 Take, I pray
thee, my blessing that is brought to thee; because God hath dealt graciously with me, and because I have enough.
And he urged him, and he took it.
12 And he said, Let us take our journey,
and let us go, and I will go before
thee.
13 And he said unto him, My lord knoweth
that the children
are tender, and the flocks and herds with young are
with me: and if men should overdrive them one day, all the flock will die.
14 Let my lord, I
pray thee, pass over before his servant: and I will lead on softly, according
as the cattle that goeth before me and the children be able to endure, until I come unto my lord unto
Seir.
15 And Esau said, Let me now leave with thee some of the folk that are with me. And he said, What needeth it?
let me find grace in the sight of my lord.
16 So Esau returned that day on his way unto Seir.
17 And Jacob
journeyed to Succoth,
and built him an house,
and made booths for his cattle: therefore the name
of the place is called Succoth.
18 And Jacob came to
Shalem, a city of Shechem, which is in the land of Canaan, when he came from Padanaram; and pitched his tent before
the city.
19 And he bought a parcel of a field,
where he had spread his tent, at the hand of the children of Hamor, Shechem's
father, for an hundred pieces of money.
20 And he erected there an altar, and called it EleloheIsrael.
Psalm
25 Unto thee, O LORD, do I lift up my
soul.
2 O my God, I trust in thee: let me not be ashamed,
let not mine enemies triumph
over me.
3 Yea, let none that wait on thee be ashamed: let them be ashamed which transgress without cause.
4 Shew me thy ways, O LORD; teach me thy paths.
5 Lead me in thy truth, and teach me: for thou art the God of my salvation; on thee do I wait all the day.
6 Remember, O LORD, thy tender mercies and thy lovingkindnesses; for they have been
ever of old.
7 Remember not the sins of my youth, nor my transgressions: according to thy mercy remember thou me for thy
goodness' sake, O LORD.
8 Good and upright is the LORD: therefore
will he teach sinners in the way.
9 The meek will he guide in judgment: and the meek will he teach his
way.
10 All the paths of the LORD are mercy and truth
unto such as keep his covenant and his testimonies.
11 For thy name's sake, O
LORD, pardon mine iniquity; for it is
great.
12 What man is he that feareth
the LORD? him shall he teach in the way that he shall choose.
13 His soul shall dwell at ease; and his seed shall inherit the earth.
14 The secret
of the LORD is with them that fear him; and he will shew them his covenant.
15 Mine eyes are ever toward the LORD; for he shall pluck
my feet out of the net.
16 Turn thee unto me, and have mercy upon me; for I am desolate and afflicted.
17 The troubles
of my heart are enlarged: O bring thou me out of my distresses.
18 Look upon mine affliction and my pain;
and forgive all my sins.
19 Consider mine enemies; for they are many; and they hate me with cruel
hatred.
20 O keep my soul, and deliver
me: let me not be ashamed; for I put my trust in thee.
21 Let integrity
and uprightness preserve
me; for I wait on thee.
22 Redeem Israel,
O God, out of all his troubles.
