You Are Firmly Planted on the Rock!

          <ESPAÑOL>

January 3rd

You Are Firmly Planted on the Rock!

By Riqui Ricón*

Whosoever cometh to me, and heareth my sayings, and doeth them, I will shew

you to whom he is like: He is like a man which built an house, and digged deep, and laid the foundation on a rock: and when the flood arose, the stream beat vehemently upon that house, and could not shake it: for it was founded upon a rock (Luke 6:47-48, KJV).

As a new year begins, many people take stock and set new goals; they evaluate their assets and liabilities and even plan strategies. Others only make casual resolutions, intending to live their lives as they always have: just getting by.

For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also

(James 2:26, KJV).

This year is destined to be the best year of your life! For thies to be so, you have to make it happen. It is not enough to just declare it. You must act accordingly, for faith without works is dead. Declare your dreams, plan your goals for this year, and get to work. Go after them because they are yours; they belong to you!

Dig deep until you find the TRUE FOUNDATION, which is the Word of God. Then, according to the teachings of Jesus, the river of life will come and strike with force, but it will not reach you—you won't even notice it because it will not be able to move you.

A thousand may fall at your side, ten thousand at your right hand, but it will not come near you (Psalm 91:7, NIV).

By the Grace of God, you are what you are: a Born-Again Child of God. This is why the Bible, the Word of God, which does not lie, is the foundation of your life (otherwise you wouldn't be reading this).

IF YOU BELIEVE that Jesus is the Christ, that he is the Son of God and that he is your Savior, [then and only then] you are children of God (1 John 5:1a, NIV).

When you accepted Jesus as Lord and Savior of your life, you believed God by believing His Word, and through that faith, you were Born Again—but now as a Child of the King.

For you have been born again, not of perishable seed, but of imperishable, through the living and enduring word of God (1 Peter 1:23, NIV).

You are no longer the same failed and sinful person you were before. If you believe this—if you believe God by believing His Word—then you will arise to make this year a year of Splendor. This means that this year you will develop your maximum potential.

Arise, shine, for your light has come, and the glory of the Lord rises upon you. See, darkness covers the earth and thick darkness is over the peoples, but the Lord rises upon you and his glory appears over you (Isaiah 60:1-2, NIV).

But how is this done? Jesus expressed it clearly when he said, the one who hears my words and puts them into practice is the one who will be firm and will not fall.

Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path (Psalm 119:105, KJV).

Hearing the Word is relatively easy, but what does it mean to "do" the Word? It means, Believe! Believe it! Believe Him by believing His Word! It means making the Word of God your own, putting it in your mouth, mind, and heart, reading it and meditating on it day and night until you obtain that certainty of what you are expecting from this year and you are convinced that you will get it, even though you cannot see it yet.

But thou, O Lord, art a shield for me; my glory, and the lifter up of mine head. I cried unto the Lord with my voice, and he heard me out of his holy hill. I laid me down and slept; I awaked; for the Lord sustained me. I will not be afraid of ten thousands of people, that have set themselves against me round about (Psalm 3:3-6, KJV).

Doing the Word means knowing and believing that God is good and that throughout this entire year He will be a shield around you; you will live with His glory and with your head held high, because God has declared that He will answer you when you cry out to Him.

Pay close attention, because even if it seems like they have laid siege against you, you are not going to fear the multitude of people and/or problems that you are going to resolve this year, because you know that you know that God, your Father, is the one who sustains you.

Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me (Psalm 23:4, KJV).

Even if you walk through the valley of the shadow of death, you will not fear because the Lord is with you, and if God is for you, who can be against you? I guarantee that by knowing and believing this, you are going to sleep in peace every night this year. After all, it is written!

What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us? (Romans 8:31, KJV).

Do not give your ears to lies. If you fix your eyes on the difficulty of your circumstances, then your adversary the devil—through your emotions and feelings—will be able to alter your thoughts, flooding them with fear, doubt, and unbelief. Fix your eyes on Jesus, the author and finisher of your faith!

And they rose early in the morning, and went forth into the wilderness of Tekoa: and as they went forth, Jehoshaphat stood and said, Hear me, O Judah, and ye inhabitants of Jerusalem; Believe in the Lord your God, so shall ye be established; believe his prophets [His Word], so shall ye prosper (2 Chronicles 20:20, KJV).

Learn from Adam and Eve; they did not believe the Word of God, for He told them, "you will surely die." However, they did believe the lie of the one who told them, "you will not die, but you will be like God, knowing good and evil." And, you know what? That was not the best of their years!

God has always desired for you to take from His Fullness and reach the fulfillment of all His promises; and this year, He is particularly interested in you building on the Rock and in your determination to live in the light and freedom produced by the Fullness of God in you, as a Child of the King.

Begin making this the best year of your life through the Bible; put the Word of God in your mouth, mind, and heart, making its reading and meditation the priority of every day of your life.

Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed; And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free (John 8:31-32, KJV).

This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success (Joshua 1:8, KJV).

If you build your life on this foundation, what problem, illness, or anguish could ever defeat you? You will always be grounded on the Rock! You will know the Truth, and the Truth will set you free.

Let’s pray out loud:

Beloved Heavenly Father, this year I am more than ready to walk in the Truth of Your Word. With Your help, Holy Spirit, I am going to make this year the best year of my life. Thank You, Lord Jesus, because it is through You that I will be able to achieve it, since through Your love, Your death, and Your resurrection, You made me a Born-Again Child of God and I have Eternal Life. Your Word, the Bible, clearly says that in this Your love is made perfect: that as You are, so am I in this world. Because of this, I know that I can do the things You did and live as You lived. Because of this, I know that in all things, good and bad, I am more than a conqueror, for I can do all things in You, my Lord, in Your Word, and in Your name.

I will not fear! This is my year of light and freedom in the identity Your Word gives me. This is my year to reign with Your Abundant Grace. This is my year of Splendor. In the midst of any problem, illness, or affliction, I believe and declare that this year will be a year of health and prosperity because I know that is Your Will for me: good, pleasing, and perfect. Therefore, I resist illness! I resist poverty and lack! I resist family breakdown! I resist fear and unbelief! I resist sadness and depression! In all things, I will come out more than a conqueror through Your love, my Lord Jesus! I can do all things! I am healed! I am free! I am prosperous! Love, joy, and peace are the characteristics of my New Nature in Christ! I am blessed! In the name of Jesus. Amen.

Important Note:

How do I become a Child of God? How do I establish a relationship with the Almighty?

Just say the following prayer aloud, putting all your attention and heart into what you are saying to God:

Lord Jesus, I believe that You are the Son of God. That You came into this world, born of the virgin Mary, to pay for all my sins, and I have been a sinner. Therefore, today I say that I accept. I accept Your sacrifice on the cross! I accept Your precious Blood shed to the last drop out of love for me! I open my heart to You and invite You in because I want, Lord Jesus, that from today and forever You be my only and sufficient Savior, my God, my King, and my Lord.

Thank You, Almighty God, because with this simple prayer and profession of faith I have passed from death to Life, I have been transferred from darkness to Your marvelous Light. Today I have been Born Again! God, now I am Your Child! Now You are my Father! I will never be alone again! I will never live defeated again. In the name of Jesus. Amen.

Three Recommendations:

What just happened by you recognizing Jesus Christ as the Lord and Savior of your life, according to God's Word, is that you have been Born Again. No longer as an ordinary human being, subject to the law of sin and death, but now as a legitimate and authentic Child of God, Born Again, exactly like Jesus Christ,

who is now your Older Brother. Therefore, I give you these three, very important, recommendations:

1.    Pray. Praying is talking with God. So, find a quiet place where you can begin talking to Him about everything. Do it out loud, and you will notice how God always responds to your heart.

2.    Read and meditate on the Word of God. The Bible is the Word of God, so get a Bible and start reading and meditating on it. How do you begin? It’s very simple. Depending on the day, look up the reading program “The

Bible in One Year” and do the corresponding readings. You can get this program at: Through The Bible In One Year (palabradehonor.org). You will notice that the program is set up so you can print it as a booklet.

3.    In prayer with God, your Father, look for and join a Christian church or congregation where the Word of God is taught based on the Good News, which are the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Reading and Meditation on the Word of God

Do these daily readings, and by the end of one year you will have read the entire Bible.

January 3    Luke 6.27-49 / Genesis 6-7 / Psalm 3 Luke

27  But I say unto you which hear, Love your enemies, do good to them which

hate you,

28  Bless them that curse you, and pray for them which despitefully use you.

29  And unto him that smiteth thee on the one cheek offer also the other; and him that taketh away thy cloak forbid not to take thy coat also.

30  Give to every man that asks of thee; and of him that taketh away thy goods ask them not again.

31  And as ye would that men should do to you, do ye also to them likewise.

32  For if ye love them which love you, what thank have ye? for sinners also love those that love them.

33  And if ye do good to them which do good to you, what thank have ye? for sinners also do even the same.

34  And if ye lend to them of whom ye hope to receive, what thank have ye? for sinners also lend to sinners, to receive as much again.

35  But love ye your enemies, and do good, and lend, hoping for nothing again; and your reward shall be great, and ye shall be the children of the Highest: for he is kind unto the unthankful and to the evil.

36  Be ye therefore merciful, as your Father also is merciful.

37  Judge not, and ye shall not be judged: condemn not, and ye shall not be condemned: forgive, and ye shall be forgiven:

38  Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again.

39  And he spake a parable unto them, Can the blind lead the blind? shall they not both fall into the ditch?

40  The disciple is not above his master: but every one that is perfect shall be as his master.

41  And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother's eye, but perceivest not the beam that is in thine own eye?

42  Either how canst thou say to thy brother, Brother, let me pull out the mote that is in thine eye, when thou thyself beholdest not the beam that is in thine own eye? Thou hypocrite, cast out first the beam out of thine own eye, and then shalt thou see clearly to pull out the mote that is in thy brother's eye.

43  For a good tree bringeth not forth corrupt fruit; neither doth a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit.

44  For every tree is known by his own fruit. For of thorns men do not gather figs, nor of a bramble bush gather they grapes.

45  A good man out of the good treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is evil: for of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaketh.

46  And why call ye me, Lord, Lord, and do not the things which I say?

47  Whosoever cometh to me, and heareth my sayings, and doeth them, I will shew you to whom he is like:

48  He is like a man which built an house, and digged deep, and laid the foundation on a rock: and when the flood arose, the stream beat vehemently upon that house, and could not shake it: for it was founded upon a rock.

49  But he that heareth, and doeth not, is like a man that without a foundation built an house upon the earth; against which the stream did beat vehemently, and immediately it fell; and the ruin of that house was great.

Genesis

6 And it came to pass, when men began to multiply on the face of the earth, and daughters were born unto them,

2  That the sons of God saw the daughters of men that they were fair; and they took them wives of all which they chose.

3  And the LORD said, My spirit shall not always strive with man, for that he also is flesh: yet his days shall be an hundred and twenty years.

4  There were giants in the earth in those days; and also after that, when the sons of God came in unto the daughters of men, and they bare children to them, the same became mighty men which were of old, men of renown.

5  And God saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.

6  And it repented the LORD that he had made man on the earth, and it grieved him at his heart.

7  And the LORD said, I will destroy man whom I have created from the face of the earth; both man, and beast, and the creeping thing, and the fowls of the air; for it repenteth me that I have made them.

8  But Noah found grace in the eyes of the LORD.

9  These are the generations of Noah: Noah was a just man and perfect in his generations, and Noah walked with God.

10  And Noah begat three sons, Shem, Ham, and Japheth.

11  The earth also was corrupt before God, and the earth was filled with violence.

12  And God looked upon the earth, and, behold, it was corrupt; for all flesh had corrupted his way upon the earth.

13  And God said unto Noah, The end of all flesh is come before me; for the earth is filled with violence through them; and, behold, I will destroy them with the earth.

14  Make thee an ark of gopher wood; rooms shalt thou make in the ark, and shalt pitch it within and without with pitch.

15  And this is the fashion which thou shalt make it of: The length of the ark shall be three hundred cubits, the breadth of it fifty cubits, and the height of it thirty cubits.

16  A window shalt thou make to the ark, and in a cubit shalt thou finish it above; and the door of the ark shalt thou set in the side thereof; with lower, second, and third stories shalt thou make it.

17  And, behold, I, even I, do bring a flood of waters upon the earth, to destroy all flesh, wherein is the breath of life, from under heaven; and every thing that is in the earth shall die.

18  But with thee will I establish my covenant; and thou shalt come into the ark, thou, and thy sons, and thy wife, and thy sons' wives with thee.

19  And of every living thing of all flesh, two of every sort shalt thou bring into the ark, to keep them alive with thee; they shall be male and female.

20  Of fowls after their kind, and of cattle after their kind, of every creeping thing of the earth after his kind, two of every sort shall come unto thee, to keep them alive.

21  And take thou unto thee of all food that is eaten, and thou shalt gather it to thee; and it shall be for food for thee, and for them.

22  Thus did Noah; according to all that God commanded him, so did he.

7 And the LORD said unto Noah, Come thou and all thy house into the ark; for thee have I seen righteous before me in this generation.

2  Of every clean beast thou shalt take to thee by sevens, the male and his female: and of beasts that are not clean by two, the male and his female.

3  Of fowls also of the air by sevens, the male and the female; to keep seed alive upon the face of all the earth.

4  For yet seven days, and I will cause it to rain upon the earth forty days and forty nights; and every living substance that I have made will I destroy from off the face of the earth.

5  And Noah did according unto all that the LORD commanded him.

6  And Noah was six hundred years old when the flood of waters was upon the earth.

7  And Noah went in, and his sons, and his wife, and his sons' wives with him, into the ark, because of the waters of the flood.

8  Of clean beasts, and of beasts that are not clean, and of fowls, and of every thing that creepeth upon the earth,

9  There went in two and two unto Noah into the ark, the male and the female, as God had commanded Noah.

10  And it came to pass after seven days, that the waters of the flood were upon the earth.

11  In the six hundredth year of Noah's life, in the second month, the seventeenth day of the month, the same day were all the fountains of the great deep broken up, and the windows of heaven were opened.

12  And the rain was upon the earth forty days and forty nights.

13  In the selfsame day entered Noah, and Shem, and Ham, and Japheth, the sons of Noah, and Noah's wife, and the three wives of his sons with them, into the ark;

14  They, and every beast after his kind, and all the cattle after their kind, and every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth after his kind, and every fowl after his kind, every bird of every sort.

15  And they went in unto Noah into the ark, two and two of all flesh, wherein is the breath of life.

16  And they that went in, went in male and female of all flesh, as God had commanded him: and the LORD shut him in.

17  And the flood was forty days upon the earth; and the waters increased, and bare up the ark, and it was lift up above the earth.

18  And the waters prevailed, and were increased greatly upon the earth; and the ark went upon the face of the waters.

19  And the waters prevailed exceedingly upon the earth; and all the high hills, that were under the whole heaven, were covered.

20  Fifteen cubits upward did the waters prevail; and the mountains were covered.

21  And all flesh died that moved upon the earth, both of fowl, and of cattle, and of beast, and of every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth, and every man:

22  All in whose nostrils was the breath of life, of all that was in the dry land, died.

23  And every living substance was destroyed which was upon the face of the ground, both man, and cattle, and the creeping things, and the fowl of the heaven; and they were destroyed from the earth: and Noah only remained alive, and they that were with him in the ark.

24  And the waters prevailed upon the earth an hundred and fifty days.

Psalm

3 Lord, how are they increased that trouble me! many are they that rise up against me.

2  Many there be which say of my soul, There is no help for him in God. Selah.

3  But thou, O LORD, art a shield for me; my glory, and the lifter up of mine head.

4  I cried unto the LORD with my voice, and he heard me out of his holy hill.

Selah.

5  I laid me down and slept; I awaked; for the LORD sustained me.

6  I will not be afraid of ten thousands of people, that have set themselves against me round about.

7  Arise, O LORD; save me, O my God: for thou hast smitten all mine enemies upon the cheek bone; thou hast broken the teeth of the ungodly.

8  Salvation belongeth unto the LORD: thy blessing is upon thy people. Selah.
