Believing What God Says in His Word,
the Bible!
By Riqui Ricón*
And he believed in the Lord; and he counted it to him for righteousness.
(Genesis 15:6, KJV)
The most extraordinary thing about the good news God has for you this year is
that it is received by faith; that is, by believing God and believing His Word.
And being not weak in faith, he
considered not his own body now dead, when he was about an hundred years old,
neither yet the deadness of Sarah's womb: He staggered not at the promise of
God through unbelief; but was strong in faith, giving glory to God; And being
fully persuaded that, what he had promised,
he was able also to perform. And therefore it was imputed
to him for righteousness. (Romans 4:19-22, KJV)
Faced with the overwhelming reality
of his circumstances (his advanced
age and his wife's infertility), which spoke loudly to him saying he
would die
without descendants, you can see Abraham
thinking: "Well, it’s true that I am old
and Sarah is barren, but He is God, the Almighty, and nothing is impossible
for Him. So if He says I will have descendants, then it is certain that it will
happen."
This simple reasoning
put him in the position
of a believer, and it was counted to him as righteousness!
God speaks to you, loud and clear, every day through His Word, the Bible. In it,
your Father has given
you precious and magnificent promises, that by these ye might be partakers of the divine
nature. (2 Peter 1:4, KJV)
To make this year the best year of your life, the logic you must apply is very simple:
· God loves you so much that He preferred
to give up His own Son to pay for all
your sins rather than lose you.
For God so loved
the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not
perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to
condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. (John
3:16-17, KJV)
The Bible, the Word of God, was spoken so that you would believe
and receive blessing, to make
your life one filled with the fullness of God.
We
have also a more sure word of prophecy; whereunto
ye do well that ye take
heed, as unto a light that shineth in a dark place, until the day dawn, and the
day star arise in your hearts. (2 Peter 1:19, KJV)
Thy word is a lamp unto my feet,
and a light unto my path.
(Psalm 119:105, KJV)
· You are a beloved
child of God!
Whosoever believeth
that Jesus is the Christ
is born of God.
(1 John 5:1a, KJV)
Behold, what manner of love the
Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should
be called the sons of God: therefore
the world knoweth
us not, because it knew him not. Beloved, now are we the sons of God,
and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear,
we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he
is. (1 John 3:1-2, KJV)
Since they flow from the Word of God, these three reasonings must be strong and clear within your heart. Always
remember that if God says it, then He will fulfill it; if God spoke it, then He
will execute it.
Therefore, faith (believing God) is a
guarantee, because now you have the certainty
of what you are hoping for and you are convinced of those things
you do not yet see. Even if it sounds repetitive: if God said it, then He will fulfill it; if
God spoke it, then He will execute it.
Finally, my brethren, rejoice
in the Lord. To write
the same things
to you, to me
indeed is not grievous, but for you it is safe. (Philippians
3:1, KJV)
Faith, believing God by believing His Word, is life insurance—and not just for any kind of life, but for Eternal
Life. Scripture confirms it this way: that
whosoever believeth in him should
not perish, but have everlasting life. (John
3:16b, KJV)
Do you realize
why believing God, and believing His Word, is credited to you as righteousness?
For I am not ashamed of the gospel
of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.
For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith [by
believing God by believing His Word] to faith [to believing God by believing
His Word]: as it is written, The just shall live by faith [by believing God by
believing His Word]. (Romans 1:16-17, KJV)
With all this in mind, now face your current
situation.
Is there anything
that God, the Almighty, cannot do for you? No! He can do all things!
Is there anything
that God, your Father, does not want to do for you? No! He loves you and has given you His Word!
So, stop being afraid and doubting what this year has in store for you. Take heart and be courageous.
Fight the good fight of faith,
lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called. (1 Timothy
6:12, KJV)
I assure you, all things are possible
to him who believes.
This book of the law shall
not depart out of thy mouth; but thou
shalt meditate therein day and
night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein:
for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good
success. (Joshua 1:8, KJV)
You believe in God, don't you? Because of
that, it is of vital importance that this year you have the firm purpose
of reading and meditating on the Word of
God every day, putting it in
your mouth, mind, and heart. He
assures you that then [not
before, not after, and in no other way], you will make your way prosperous, and
everything will go well for you.
Let’s pray out loud:
"Beloved heavenly Father, today I want to thank You
for such great love.
What You did for me by giving Your own Son to pay for my sins in my
place is something so wonderful that I will never stop thanking You for it.
Lord Jesus, through Your death
and resurrection, I now have Eternal Life and I have access by one Spirit to the Father. Each
day I understand more that I am the person You, my God, say I am: a beloved
child of the King! Therefore, I am certain
that You, Holy Spirit, and I, will make this year the best year of our
lives. I will not give place to fear, doubt, or unbelief. I will only believe!
I believe that by Your stripes I am healed, Lord Jesus! I believe it is Your
desire that I prosper in all things and be in health, just as my soul prospers!
I believe I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me! I believe that
greater is He who is in me than he who is in the world! I believe that this
year I am going to come out more than a conqueror in all things through Your
love, my God! I believe it in the name of Jesus. Amen."
Important Note:
How do I become a Child of God? How do I establish a relationship with the
Almighty?
Just say the following prayer
aloud, putting all your attention
and heart into what you are saying to God:
Lord Jesus, I believe that You are the Son of
God. That You came into this world, born
of the virgin Mary, to pay for all my sins, and I have
been a sinner. Therefore, today I say that I accept. I accept Your
sacrifice on the cross! I accept Your precious
Blood shed to the last drop out of love for me! I open my
heart to You and invite You in
because I want, Lord Jesus, that from today and forever You be my only and sufficient Savior, my
God, my King, and my Lord.
Thank You, Almighty God, because with this
simple prayer and profession of faith I have passed from death to Life, I have been transferred from darkness
to Your marvelous Light. Today I have been Born Again! God, now I am Your
Child! Now You are my Father! I will never be alone again! I will never live
defeated again. In the name of Jesus. Amen.
Three Recommendations:
What just happened by you recognizing Jesus Christ as the Lord and
Savior of your life, according
to God's Word, is that you have been Born Again. No longer
as an ordinary human being, subject to the law of sin and death, but now as a
legitimate and authentic Child of God, Born Again, exactly like Jesus Christ, who is now your Older Brother. Therefore,
I give you these three, very important, recommendations:
1.
Pray. Praying is talking with God. So, find a quiet
place where you can begin talking to Him about everything. Do it out loud, and you will notice
how God always responds to your heart.
2.
Read and meditate
on the Word of God. The Bible
is the Word of God, so
get a Bible and start reading and meditating on it. How do you begin? It’s very simple. Depending on the day,
look up the reading program “The
Bible in One Year” and do the corresponding readings. You can get this program at: Through The Bible In One Year (palabradehonor.org). You will notice
that the program is set up so you can print it as a booklet.
3.
In prayer with God, your Father, look for and join a
Christian church or congregation where the Word of God is taught based
on the Good News, which are
the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

8 Luke 9.1-27
/ Genesis 15 / Psalm 8
Luke
9 Then he called his twelve
disciples together, and gave them power and authority over all devils, and to cure
diseases.
2 And he sent them to preach the kingdom
of God, and to heal the sick.
3 And he said unto them, Take nothing for your journey,
neither staves, nor scrip, neither bread, neither money;
neither have two coats apiece.
4 And whatsoever house ye enter into, there abide, and thence depart.
5 And whosoever will not receive
you, when ye go out of that city, shake off
the very dust from your feet for a testimony against them.
6 And they departed, and went through
the towns, preaching the gospel, and healing every where.
7 Now Herod the
tetrarch heard of all that was done by him: and he was perplexed, because
that it was said of some, that John was risen from the
dead;
8 And of some, that Elias had appeared; and of others,
that one of the old prophets was risen again.
9 And Herod said, John have I beheaded: but who is this, of whom I hear such things? And he desired to see him.
10 And the apostles, when they were returned, told him all that they had done. And he took them, and went aside
privately into a desert place belonging to the city called Bethsaida.
11 And the people,
when they knew it, followed him: and he received them, and spake unto them of the kingdom of God, and healed them that had need
of healing.
12 And when the day
began to wear away, then came the twelve, and said unto him, Send the multitude
away, that they may go into the towns and country round about, and lodge, and get victuals:
for we are here in a desert place.
13 But he said unto
them, Give ye them to eat. And they said, We have no more but five loaves
and two fishes; except we should go and buy meat for all
this people.
14 For they were about five thousand
men. And he said to his disciples, Make them sit down by fifties in a company.
15 And they did so, and made them all sit down.
16 Then he took the five loaves
and the two fishes, and looking up to heaven, he blessed them, and brake, and
gave to the disciples to set before the multitude.
17 And they did eat, and were all filled:
and there was taken up of fragments that remained to them twelve
baskets.
18 And it came to pass, as he was alone praying,
his disciples were with him: and he asked them, saying, Whom say
the people that I am?
19 They answering
said, John the Baptist; but some say, Elias; and others say, that one of the old prophets is risen
again.
20 He said unto them, But whom say ye that I am? Peter answering said, The
Christ of God.
21 And he straitly charged
them, and commanded
them to tell no man that
thing;
22 Saying, The Son
of man must suffer many things, and be rejected of the elders and chief priests
and scribes, and be slain, and be raised the third day.
23 And he said to them all, If any man will come after
me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and
follow me.
24 For whosoever will save his life shall
lose it: but whosoever will lose his life
for my sake, the same shall save it.
25 For what is a man advantaged, if he gain the whole world, and lose himself, or be cast away?
26 For whosoever
shall be ashamed
of me and of my words, of him shall
the Son of man be ashamed, when he shall come in his own glory, and in
his Father's, and of the holy angels.
27 But I tell you of a truth, there
be some standing
here, which shall not taste of death, till they see the kingdom
of God.
Genesis
15 After these things the word of the LORD came unto Abram in a vision, saying, Fear not, Abram: I am thy shield,
and thy exceeding great reward.
2 And Abram said, LORD God, what wilt thou give me, seeing I go childless, and the steward of my house is this Eliezer of Damascus?
3 And Abram said, Behold,
to me thou hast given
no seed: and, lo, one born in my house is mine heir.
4 And, behold, the
word of the LORD came unto him, saying, This
shall not be thine heir; but he that shall come forth out of thine own bowels
shall be thine heir.
5 And he brought him forth abroad,
and said, Look now toward
heaven, and tell the stars, if thou be able to number them:
and he said unto him, So shall thy seed be.
6 And he believed in the LORD; and he counted
it to him for righteousness.
7 And he said unto him, I am the LORD that brought
thee out of Ur of the
Chaldees, to give thee this land to inherit it.
8
And he said,
LORD God, whereby
shall I know that I shall inherit
it?
9 And he said unto him, Take me an heifer of three years
old, and a she goat of
three years old, and a ram of three years old, and a turtledove, and a young pigeon.
10 And he took unto him all these, and divided them in the midst, and laid
each piece one against another: but the birds divided he not.
11 And when the fowls
came down upon the carcases, Abram drove them away.
12 And when the sun was going down, a deep sleep fell upon Abram; and, lo,
an horror of great darkness fell upon him.
13 And he said unto
Abram, Know of a surety that thy seed shall be a stranger in a land that is not theirs, and shall serve them; and they shall afflict them four
hundred years;
14 And also that nation,
whom they shall serve, will I judge:
and afterward shall they come
out with great substance.
15 And thou shalt go to thy fathers in peace; thou shalt be buried in a good old
age.
16 But in the fourth
generation they shall come hither again: for the iniquity
of the Amorites is not yet full.
17 And it came to pass, that, when the sun went down, and it was dark, behold a smoking furnace, and a burning
lamp that passed between those pieces.
18 In the same day the LORD made a covenant with Abram, saying,
Unto thy seed have I given
this land, from the river of Egypt unto
the great river, the river Euphrates:
19 The Kenites,
and the Kenizzites, and the Kadmonites,
20 And the Hittites, and the Perizzites, and the Rephaims,
21 And the Amorites, and the Canaanites, and the Girgashites, and the Jebusites.

and he said unto him, So shall thy seed be.
Abram, Know of a surety that thy seed shall be a stranger in a land that is not theirs, and shall serve them; and they shall afflict them four
hundred years;
14 And also that nation,
whom they shall serve, will I judge:
and afterward shall they come
out with great substance.
Psalm
8 O LORD, our Lord, how excellent
is thy name in all the earth! who hast set thy glory above the heavens.
2 Out of the mouth
of babes and sucklings hast thou ordained strength because of thine enemies,
that thou mightest
still the enemy
and the avenger.
3 When I consider thy heavens, the work of thy fingers,
the moon and the
stars, which thou hast ordained;
4 What is man, that thou art mindful of him? and the son of man, that thou visitest him?
5 For thou hast made him a little lower than the angels, and hast crowned
him with glory and honour.
6 Thou madest
him to have dominion over the works of thy hands; thou hast
put all things under his feet:
7 All sheep and oxen, yea, and the beasts
of the field;
8 The fowl of the air, and the fish of the sea, and whatsoever passeth
through the paths of the seas.
9 O LORD our Lord, how excellent is thy name in all the earth!
