Permanently in His Presence!

Permanently in His Presence!

By Riqui Ricón*

Lord, who shall abide in thy tabernacle? who shall dwell in thy holy hill? He that walketh uprightly, and worketh righteousness, and speaketh the truth in his heart. (Psalm 15:1-2, KJV)

Who wouldn't want to live in the Presence of God? I think only those who do not know Him, but we, His beloved daughters and sons, long to be with Him.

In today's reading, Psalm 15 gives you a list of behaviors manifested by those who dwell in His Presence and, furthermore, offers you a guarantee as it ends by declaring:

He that doeth these things shall never be moved. (Psalm 15:5b, KJV)

For many years, time and again, I made the mistake of trying to develop those behaviors in my life and, although I have been a man of prayer, I obtained very few results in that regard until I fully realized what verse two says: to walk in integrity and do justice, the Truth must dwell in your heart.

Jesus teaches us that,

A good man out of the good treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is evil: for of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaketh. (Luke 6:45, KJV)

Please take note that the only thing you have to do is believe—believe God, believe that the Bible is truly the Word of God. In this way, you begin to fill your heart with His Word, and then from the good treasure of your heart will come good words, good thoughts, and good actions.

Note that to put off concerning the former conversation the old man, which is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts; And be renewed in the spirit of your mind; And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in

righteousness and true holiness (Ephesians 4:22-24, KJV), the only thing you need to do is believe God and fill your heart with His Word, the Bible, because only in this way will you begin to speak the Truth, getting rid of that old man (or woman) who is corrupted and in conformity with deceitful desires.

Only by making the Bible the ultimate standard of your existence can you truly be renewed in the spirit of your mind!

And the angel of the Lord called unto Abraham out of heaven the second time, And said, By myself have I sworn, saith the Lord, for because thou hast done this thing, and hast not withheld thy son, thine only son: That in blessing I will bless thee, and in multiplying I will multiply thy seed as the stars of the heaven, and as the sand which is upon the sea shore; and thy seed shall possess the gate of his enemies; And in thy seed shall all the nations of the earth be blessed; because thou hast obeyed my voice. (Genesis 22:15-18, KJV)

Some people think that when Abraham was on his way to sacrifice his son Isaac, he engaged in a great struggle to obey God and carry out, with much sacrifice and pain, what was being asked of him. If that were truly the case, then Abraham did it in his own strength, in his flesh, and by his own merit, which would never have been counted to him as righteousness. For the Scripture does not say, "Abraham paid the price and it was counted to him as righteousness," but rather says And he believed in the Lord; and he counted it to him for righteousness. (Genesis 15:6, KJV)

It was by believing and not by paying a price that Abraham obtained such a promise from God, who, without any reservation, swore by Himself.

By faith Abraham, when he was tried, offered up Isaac: and he that had received the promises offered up his only begotten son, Of whom it was said, That in Isaac shall thy seed be called: Accounting that God was able to raise him up, even from the dead; from whence also he received him in a figure. (Hebrews 11:17-19, KJV)

That's right, family; Abraham did not pay any price, nor did he suffer or feel pain for what was asked of him. Abraham knew perfectly well in Whom he had believed—in the Almighty God, who does not lie nor repent—and God had

given him His Word of Honor that his descendants and the fulfillment of EVERYTHING He had promised him would come through Isaac.

So, Abraham simply believed God!

It is your faith in the Bible, and not your efforts, that will truly allow you to manifest the conduct of a Born-Again Child of God. It is your faith in the Bible, and not your efforts, that enables you and allows you to dwell permanently in His Presence.

One thing have I desired of the Lord, that will I seek after; that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the Lord, and to enquire in his temple. For in the time of trouble he shall hide me in his pavilion: in the secret of his tabernacle shall he hide me; he shall set me up upon a rock. And now shall mine head be lifted up above mine enemies round about me: therefore will I offer in his tabernacle sacrifices of joy; I will sing, yea, I will sing praises unto the Lord. (Psalm 27:4-6, KJV)

Regardless of the problems, illnesses, or challenges you are facing today, God has established in His Word that He Himself will hide you within His Presence in the day of evil and then set you high upon a rock so that you triumph over your circumstances (enemies).

All of this becomes obvious when you believe and recognize that God loves you so much that He preferred to give up His own Son rather than lose you.

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. (John 3:16-17, KJV)

All of this becomes more real when you know that you know that, because of what Jesus Christ did by dying and rising for you, you have now been Born Again, you have been regenerated according to the image of Jesus, and the Almighty God has declared you His own child.

How great is the love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are! The reason the world does not know us is that it did not know him. (1 John 3:1, NIV)

So, let’s pray out loud:

Beloved heavenly Father, at this time I want to thank You once again for Your Great Love with which You have loved me, for while I was dead in trespasses and sins, You gave me Life together with Christ. By grace I am saved! Lord Jesus, because of what You did for me by dying on that cross and rising from the dead, I not only received the forgiveness of all my sins but also (and most importantly), You gave me Eternal Life. Thank You, Lord! Now I am a Born- Again Child of God and I have every right to live that Full and Abundant Life that You purchased for me. Because of You, my Jesus (only because of You), I am now a new creature, whole and righteous, and the Word of Truth is written in my heart. Therefore, I put off the old man (or woman) who is corrupted according to deceitful desires, I renew myself with Your Word, the Bible, in the spirit of my mind, and I put on the New Man (or Woman) that I am now, created according to God in righteousness and holiness of the Truth. Nothing and no one can defeat me, for in every problem, anguish, or illness I shall come out more than a conqueror through Him who loved me, Christ Jesus. I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me! Greater is He who is in me than he who is in the world! I am healed! I am free! I am prosperous! I am blessed! I am a Born-Again Child of God! In the name of Jesus. Amen.

Important Note:

How do I become a Child of God? How do I establish a relationship with the Almighty?

Just say the following prayer aloud, putting all your attention and heart into what you are saying to God:

Lord Jesus, I believe that You are the Son of God. That You came into this world, born of the virgin Mary, to pay for all my sins, and I have been a sinner. Therefore, today I say that I accept. I accept Your sacrifice on the cross! I

accept Your precious Blood shed to the last drop out of love for me! I open my heart to You and invite You in because I want, Lord Jesus, that from today and forever You be my only and sufficient Savior, my God, my King, and my Lord.

Thank You, Almighty God, because with this simple prayer and profession of faith I have passed from death to Life, I have been transferred from darkness to Your marvelous Light. Today I have been Born Again! God, now I am Your Child! Now You are my Father! I will never be alone again! I will never live defeated again. In the name of Jesus. Amen.

Three Recommendations:

What just happened by you recognizing Jesus Christ as the Lord and Savior of your life, according to God's Word, is that you have been Born Again. No longer as an ordinary human being, subject to the law of sin and death, but now as a legitimate and authentic Child of God, Born Again, exactly like Jesus Christ, who is now your Older Brother. Therefore, I give you these three, very important, recommendations:

1.    Pray. Praying is talking with God. So, find a quiet place where you can begin talking to Him about everything. Do it out loud, and you will notice how God always responds to your heart.

2.    Read and meditate on the Word of God. The Bible is the Word of God, so get a Bible and start reading and meditating on it. How do you begin? It’s very simple. Depending on the day, look up the reading program “The

Bible in One Year” and do the corresponding readings. You can get this program at: Through The Bible In One Year (palabradehonor.org). You will notice that the program is set up so you can print it as a booklet.

3.    In prayer with God, your Father, look for and join a Christian church or congregation where the Word of God is taught based on the Good News, which are the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Reading and Meditation on the Word of God

Do these daily readings, and by the end of one year you will have read the entire Bible.

January 15    Luke 12.32-59 / Genesis 22 / Psalm 15 Luke

12.32 Fear not, little flock; for it is your Father's good pleasure to give you the kingdom.

33  Sell that ye have, and give alms; provide yourselves bags which wax not old, a treasure in the heavens that faileth not, where no thief approacheth, neither moth corrupteth.

34  For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.

35  Let your loins be girded about, and your lights burning;

36  And ye yourselves like unto men that wait for their lord, when he will return from the wedding; that when he cometh and knocketh, they may open unto him immediately.

37  Blessed are those servants, whom the lord when he cometh shall find watching: verily I say unto you, that he shall gird himself, and make them to sit down to meat, and will come forth and serve them.

38  And if he shall come in the second watch, or come in the third watch, and find them so, blessed are those servants.

39  And this know, that if the goodman of the house had known what hour the thief would come, he would have watched, and not have suffered his house to be broken through.

40  Be ye therefore ready also: for the Son of man cometh at an hour when ye think not.

41  Then Peter said unto him, Lord, speakest thou this parable unto us, or even to all?

42  And the Lord said, Who then is that faithful and wise steward, whom his lord shall make ruler over his household, to give them their portion of meat in due season?

43  Blessed is that servant, whom his lord when he cometh shall find so doing.

44  Of a truth I say unto you, that he will make him ruler over all that he hath.

45  But and if that servant say in his heart, My lord delayeth his coming; and shall begin to beat the menservants and maidens, and to eat and drink, and to be drunken;

46  The lord of that servant will come in a day when he looketh not for him, and at an hour when he is not aware, and will cut him in sunder, and will appoint him his portion with the unbelievers.

47  And that servant, which knew his lord's will, and prepared not himself, neither did according to his will, shall be beaten with many stripes.

48  But he that knew not, and did commit things worthy of stripes, shall be beaten with few stripes. For unto whomsoever much is given, of him shall be much required: and to whom men have committed much, of him they will ask the more.

49  I am come to send fire on the earth; and what will I, if it be already kindled?

50  But I have a baptism to be baptized with; and how am I straitened till it be accomplished!

51  Suppose ye that I am come to give peace on earth? I tell you, Nay; but rather division:

52  For from henceforth there shall be five in one house divided, three against two, and two against three.

53  The father shall be divided against the son, and the son against the father; the mother against the daughter, and the daughter against the mother; the mother in law against her daughter in law, and the daughter in law against her mother in law.

54  And he said also to the people, When ye see a cloud rise out of the west, straightway ye say, There cometh a shower; and so it is.

55  And when ye see the south wind blow, ye say, There will be heat; and it cometh to pass.

56  Ye hypocrites, ye can discern the face of the sky and of the earth; but how is it that ye do not discern this time?

57  Yea, and why even of yourselves judge ye not what is right?

58  When thou goest with thine adversary to the magistrate, as thou art in the way, give diligence that thou mayest be delivered from him; lest he hale thee to the judge, and the judge deliver thee to the officer, and the officer cast thee into prison.

59  I tell thee, thou shalt not depart thence, till thou hast paid the very last mite.

Genesis

22 And it came to pass after these things, that God did tempt Abraham, and said unto him, Abraham: and he said, Behold, here I am.

2  And he said, Take now thy son, thine only son Isaac, whom thou lovest, and get thee into the land of Moriah; and offer him there for a burnt offering upon one of the mountains which I will tell thee of.

3  And Abraham rose up early in the morning, and saddled his ass, and took two of his young men with him, and Isaac his son, and clave the wood for the burnt offering, and rose up, and went unto the place of which God had told him.

4  Then on the third day Abraham lifted up his eyes, and saw the place afar off.

5  And Abraham said unto his young men, Abide ye here with the ass; and I and the lad will go yonder and worship, and come again to you.

6  And Abraham took the wood of the burnt offering, and laid it upon Isaac his son; and he took the fire in his hand, and a knife; and they went both of them together.

7  And Isaac spake unto Abraham his father, and said, My father: and he said, Here am I, my son. And he said, Behold the fire and the wood: but where is the lamb for a burnt offering?

8  And Abraham said, My son, God will provide himself a lamb for a burnt offering: so they went both of them together.

9  And they came to the place which God had told him of; and Abraham built an altar there, and laid the wood in order, and bound Isaac his son, and laid him on the altar upon the wood.

10  And Abraham stretched forth his hand, and took the knife to slay his son.

11  And the angel of the LORD called unto him out of heaven, and said, Abraham, Abraham: and he said, Here am I.

12  And he said, Lay not thine hand upon the lad, neither do thou any thing unto him: for now I know that thou fearest God, seeing thou hast not withheld thy son, thine only son from me.

13  And Abraham lifted up his eyes, and looked, and behold behind him a ram caught in a thicket by his horns: and Abraham went and took the ram, and offered him up for a burnt offering in the stead of his son.

14  And Abraham called the name of that place Jehovahjireh: as it is said to this day, In the mount of the LORD it shall be seen.

15  And the angel of the LORD called unto Abraham out of heaven the second time,

16  And said, By myself have I sworn, saith the LORD, for because thou hast done this thing, and hast not withheld thy son, thine only son:

17  That in blessing I will bless thee, and in multiplying I will multiply thy seed as the stars of the heaven, and as the sand which is upon the sea shore; and thy seed shall possess the gate of his enemies;

18  And in thy seed shall all the nations of the earth be blessed; because thou hast obeyed my voice.

19  So Abraham returned unto his young men, and they rose up and went together to Beersheba; and Abraham dwelt at Beersheba.

20  And it came to pass after these things, that it was told Abraham, saying, Behold, Milcah, she hath also born children unto thy brother Nahor;

21  Huz his firstborn, and Buz his brother, and Kemuel the father of Aram,

22  And Chesed, and Hazo, and Pildash, and Jidlaph, and Bethuel.

23  And Bethuel begat Rebekah: these eight Milcah did bear to Nahor, Abraham's brother.

24  And his concubine, whose name was Reumah, she bare also Tebah, and Gaham, and Thahash, and Maachah.

Psalm

15 Lord, who shall abide in thy tabernacle? who shall dwell in thy holy hill?

2 He that walketh uprightly, and worketh righteousness, and speaketh the truth in his heart.

3 He that backbiteth not with his tongue, nor doeth evil to his neighbour, nor taketh up a reproach against his neighbour.

4 In whose eyes a vile person is contemned; but he honoureth them that fear the LORD. He that sweareth to his own hurt, and changeth not.

5 He that putteth not out his money to usury, nor taketh reward against the innocent. He that doeth these things shall never be moved.
