You Are Fertile Ground!
By Riqui Ricón
This is the meaning
of the parable: The seed is the word of God. (Luke 8:11, NIV)
It is truly amazing that for almost 2,000
years, the Church has held this fabulous secret in its hands,
revealed by Jesus Christ to His disciples: The Seed is the Word
of God!
Verily, verily, I say unto you,
Except a corn of wheat fall into the ground and die, it abideth alone:
but if it die, it bringeth forth
much fruit. (John 12:24,
KJV)
The seed is the Word of God! This means that the Bible has the capacity
to bring forth life where there was none before.
For you have been born again,
not of perishable seed, but of imperishable, through the living and
enduring word of God. (1 Peter 1:23, NIV)
Thus, the totally New Life that you can now
enjoy thanks to the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ is the fruit of that imperishable seed which is the
Eternal and Infallible Word of God: The Bible!
For as the rain cometh down, and
the snow from heaven, and returneth not thither, but watereth the earth, and maketh it bring forth and bud, that it may
give seed to the sower,
and bread to the eater:
So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not
return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall
prosper in the thing whereto I sent it. (Isaiah
55:10-11, KJV)
In this exciting
time in which you live, it is of vital importance that you realize the Bible is the seed from which
the fulfillment of your life as a Born Again Child of God originates.
Thou whom I have taken from the
ends of the earth, and called thee from the chief men thereof, and said unto thee, Thou art my servant; I have chosen thee,
and not cast thee away.
Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for
I
am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my
righteousness. (Isaiah 41:9-10, KJV)
Your source (the one who sustains you) is not the resources
you obtain from your job or business, nor is it your
knowledge or academic preparation, nor your name or lineage; your source is God
and His Word is your seed!
You are not a human being created by chance
or coincidence. You have been bought and rescued at the price of Blood, and now
you have a purpose and a reason for living on this Earth and in this time. Only the Word of God, the Bible, is the source—the seed that defines you—so that you
can reach the realization of that purpose and bear fruit.
But the seed on good soil stands for those with a noble
and good heart,
who hear the word, retain it, and by persevering produce
a crop. (Luke 8:15, NIV)
By the Word of God, because God says so, and because
Jesus Christ established it with the New Covenant in
His Blood, you are no longer a human being created by chance; you are a Born
Again Child of God, and with a noble and good heart, you retain the Word you
hear and bear fruit with perseverance.
A new heart also will I give you,
and a new spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony
heart out of your flesh,
and I will give you an heart of flesh. And I will put my spirit within
you, and cause you
to walk in my statutes, and ye shall keep my judgments, and do them. And ye shall dwell in
the land that I gave to your fathers; and ye shall be my people, and I will be
your God. (Ezekiel 36:26-28, KJV)
Sometimes
I wonder how it is that, knowing this, there are Children of God who live their
lives ruled by fear, doubt, resentment, remorse, and a host of emotions that trap and disable them, being
choked
by life’s worries,
riches and pleasures, [they
become ineffective] and they do not mature. (Luke 8:14, NIV)
It
is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words
that I speak unto you, they
are spirit, and they are life. (John 6:63, KJV)
The Word of God is the imperishable seed that offers
you Eternal Life!
What reasons could there be for not caring for or treasuring such a seed, which
is both spirit and life at the same time?
Some time ago, I heard Dr. Jerry Savelle answer this question. He claims there
are only two possible reasons for such inconsistent behavior in the lives of
those who profess to believe
the Gospel: either
it is because they do not know it, or because they do not believe
it.
For God so loved
the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not
perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to
condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. (John
3:16-17, KJV)
It is possible
there are people who do not know that God loves them so much that He preferred to give up His own
Son rather than lose them forever.
See what great love the Father has
lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are! The reason the world does not know us is that it did not know him. (1
John 3:1, NIV)
It is possible
there are people who do not know that God loves them so much that He has destined them to be
called His Children through the sacrifice of Jesus.
Perhaps they don’t know it, but what about you?
The good news (the Gospel)
is that God Himself says in the Bible that you are now His BORN AGAIN Child and that
according to the promises of the New Covenant,
He has ALREADY given you a new heart and a new spirit where His
own Spirit, the Holy Spirit, can dwell.
You have a New
heart!
“The days are coming,” declares the
Lord, “when I will make a new covenant with the people of Israel and with the
people of Judah. It will not be like the covenant I made with their ancestors
when I took them by the hand to lead them out of Egypt, because
they broke my covenant, though
I was a husband to them,” declares the Lord. “This is the
covenant I will make with the people of
Israel after
that time,” declares
the Lord. “I will put my law in their minds and
write it on their
hearts. I will be their God, and they will be my people. No
longer will they teach their
neighbor, or say to one another, ‘Know the Lord,’ because they will all know me, from the least of them to the greatest,” declares the Lord. “For I will forgive their wickedness and will
remember their sins no more.” (Jeremiah 31:31-34, NIV)
Your New heart was created
by the Word of God and is perfect for receiving
everything written in it. Your New heart was designed by God to house His Word
and to bear fruit a hundredfold.
Isn't it fabulous to know that you are
fertile ground and that you now have a new and special
heart where the Word of God, the seed, will germinate to bear
fruit a hundredfold? The Holy Spirit is in there with you, in your heart, to
ensure that it happens. It doesn't depend on you! He promised it and He has
already fulfilled it! Your part is to believe, because, remember, all things
are possible to him who believes.
Let’s pray out loud:
Beloved
heavenly Father, today I want to tell You that I love You with all my heart; I
am deeply grateful for what You have done for me and in me. Precious Lord
Jesus, through Your death and resurrection, You gave me a new heart, and now
You, Holy Spirit, live in me. I am that good soil, fertile ground where Your Word,
the Bible, is already bearing
fruit. I declare
that I am a BORN AGAIN
Child of God, and therefore, I have a good and upright heart to hold onto the
Word of God and BEAR FRUIT with perseverance! So, according to Your Word, O
God, Depart from me, all ye workers of
iniquity; for the Lord hath heard the voice of
my weeping. The Lord hath heard
my supplication; the Lord will receive my prayer. Let all mine
enemies be ashamed and sore vexed: let them return and be ashamed suddenly (Psalm
6:8-10, KJV), because from every problem, anguish, or illness, I, (your name
here), shall emerge as more than a conqueror through Your Love, my Lord Jesus. I can do all things through Christ which
strengtheneth me (Philippians 4:13, KJV).
I am healed! I am free! I am prosperous!
I am blessed! I am a Child of the King! In the name of
Jesus. Amen.
Important Note:
How do I become a Child of God? How do I establish a relationship with the
Almighty?
Just say the following prayer
aloud, putting all your attention
and heart into what you are saying to God:
Lord Jesus, I believe that You are the Son of
God. That You came into this world, born
of the virgin Mary, to pay for all my sins, and I have
been a sinner. Therefore, today I say that I accept. I accept Your
sacrifice on the cross! I accept Your precious
Blood shed to the last drop out of love for me! I open my
heart to You and invite You in
because I want, Lord Jesus, that from today and forever You be my only and sufficient Savior, my
God, my King, and my Lord.
Thank You, Almighty God, because with this
simple prayer and profession of faith I have passed from death to Life, I have been transferred from darkness
to Your marvelous Light. Today I have been Born Again! God, now I am Your
Child! Now You are my Father! I will never be alone again! I will never live
defeated again. In the name of Jesus. Amen.
Three Recommendations:
What just happened by you recognizing Jesus Christ as the Lord and
Savior of your life, according
to God's Word, is that you have been Born Again. No longer
as an ordinary human being, subject to the law of sin and death, but now as a
legitimate and authentic Child of God, Born Again, exactly like Jesus Christ, who is now your Older Brother. Therefore,
I give you these three, very important, recommendations:
1.
Pray. Praying is talking with God. So, find a quiet
place where you can begin talking to Him about everything. Do it out loud, and you will notice
how God always responds to your heart.
2.
Read and meditate
on the Word of God. The Bible
is the Word of God, so
get a Bible and start reading and meditating on it. How do you begin? It’s very simple. Depending on the day,
look up the reading program “The
Bible in One Year” and do the corresponding readings. You can get this program at: Through The Bible In One Year (palabradehonor.org). You will notice
that the program is set up so you can print it as a booklet.
3.
In prayer with God, your Father, look for and join a
Christian church or congregation where the Word of God is taught based
on the Good News, which are
the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

6 Luke 8.1-25
/ Genesis 12 / Psalm 6
Luke
8 And it came to pass
afterward, that he went throughout every city and village, preaching
and shewing the glad tidings
of the kingdom of God: and the twelve were with him,
2 And certain
women, which had been healed
of evil spirits
and infirmities, Mary called
Magdalene, out of whom went seven devils,
3 And Joanna
the wife of Chuza Herod's
steward, and Susanna,
and many others, which
ministered unto him of their substance.
4 And when much people
were gathered together,
and were come to him out
of every city, he spake by a parable:
5 A sower went out to sow his seed:
and as he sowed, some fell by the way side; and it was trodden down, and
the fowls of the air devoured it.
6 And some fell upon a rock; and as soon as it was sprung up, it withered
away, because it lacked moisture.
7 And some fell among thorns; and the thorns
sprang up with it, and choked it.
8 And other fell on good ground,
and sprang up, and bare fruit an hundredfold.
And when he had said these things,
he cried, He that hath ears to hear,
let him hear.
9 And his disciples asked him, saying,
What might this parable be?
10 And he said, Unto you it is given to know the mysteries of the kingdom
of God: but to others in parables; that seeing they might not see, and
hearing they might not understand.
11
Now the parable
is this: The seed is the word of God.
12 Those by the way side are they that hear; then cometh the devil, and taketh
away the word out of their hearts, lest they should believe and be saved.
13 They on the rock are they,
which, when they hear, receive
the word with joy; and these have no root, which
for a while believe, and in time of temptation fall away.
14 And that which fell among thorns are they, which, when they have heard,
go forth, and are choked with cares and riches and
pleasures of this life, and bring no fruit to perfection.
15 But that on the good ground are they, which in an honest
and good heart, having heard the word, keep it, and
bring forth fruit with patience.
16 No man, when he hath lighted
a candle, covereth
it with a vessel, or putteth
it under a bed; but setteth
it on a candlestick, that they which
enter in may see the light.
17 For nothing
is secret, that shall not be made manifest; neither
any thing hid, that shall not be known and come
abroad.
18 Take heed
therefore how ye hear: for whosoever hath, to him shall be given; and whosoever hath not, from him shall
be taken even that which he
seemeth to have.
19 Then came to him his mother and his brethren, and could not come at him
for the press.
20 And it was told him by certain which said, Thy mother and thy brethren stand without, desiring to see
thee.
21 And he answered and said unto them, My mother and my brethren
are these which hear the word of God, and do it.
22 Now it came to
pass on a certain day, that he went into a ship with his disciples: and he said unto them, Let us go over unto the other side of the lake.
And they launched
forth.
23 But as they sailed
he fell asleep: and there came down a storm of wind on
the lake; and they were filled with water, and were in jeopardy.
24 And they came to him, and awoke him, saying, Master,
master, we perish. Then he arose, and rebuked the
wind and the raging of the water: and they ceased, and there was a calm.
25 And he said
unto them, Where is your
faith? And they being afraid
wondered, saying one to another,
What manner of man is this! for he
commandeth even the winds and water, and they obey him.
Genesis
12 Now the LORD had said unto Abram, Get thee out of thy country,
and from thy kindred, and from
thy father's house, unto a land that I will shew thee:
2 And I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee,
and make thy name great; and thou shalt be a
blessing:
3 And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be
blessed.
4 So Abram departed, as the LORD had spoken unto him; and Lot went with him: and Abram was seventy and five
years old when he departed out of Haran.
5 And Abram took
Sarai his wife, and Lot his brother's son, and all their substance that they had gathered, and the souls that they had gotten
in Haran; and they went forth
to go into the land of Canaan; and
into the land of Canaan they came.
6 And Abram passed through
the land unto the place of Sichem,
unto the plain of Moreh. And the Canaanite was then
in the land.
7 And the LORD appeared unto Abram, and said, Unto thy seed will I give this
land: and there builded he an altar unto the LORD, who appeared
unto him.
8 And he removed
from thence unto a mountain on the east of Bethel, and pitched his tent, having Bethel on the west, and Hai on the east: and there he builded an altar unto the LORD, and called upon the name of the LORD.
9 And Abram journeyed, going on still toward the south.
10 And there was a famine in the land: and Abram went down into Egypt to
sojourn there; for the famine was grievous in the land.
11 And it came to
pass, when he was come near to enter into Egypt, that he said unto Sarai his wife, Behold
now, I know that thou art a fair woman to look upon:
12 Therefore it shall come to pass, when the Egyptians shall see thee, that they shall say, This is his wife: and they
will kill me, but they will save thee alive.
13 Say, I pray thee,
thou art my sister: that it may be well with me for thy sake;
and my soul shall live because of thee.
14 And it came to pass, that, when Abram was come into Egypt, the Egyptians beheld the woman that she was
very fair.
15 The princes
also of Pharaoh saw her, and commended
her before Pharaoh: and the woman was taken into
Pharaoh's house.
16 And he entreated Abram well for her sake: and he had sheep, and oxen, and
he asses, and menservants, and maidservants, and she asses, and camels.
17 And the LORD plagued Pharaoh and his house
with great plagues
because of Sarai Abram's
wife.
18 And Pharaoh
called Abram and said, What is this that thou hast done unto
me? why didst thou not tell me that she was thy wife?
19 Why saidst thou, She is my sister? so I might have taken
her to me to wife: now therefore behold thy wife, take
her, and go thy way.
20 And Pharaoh
commanded his men concerning him: and they sent him away,
and his wife, and all that he had.
Psalm
6 O LORD, rebuke me not in thine anger,
neither chasten me in thy hot
displeasure.
2 Have mercy upon me, O
LORD; for I am weak: O
LORD, heal me; for my bones
are vexed.
3
My soul is also sore vexed: but thou, O LORD, how long?
4 Return, O LORD, deliver
my soul: oh save me for thy mercies' sake.
5 For in death there is no remembrance of thee: in the grave who shall give
thee thanks?
6 I am weary with my groaning; all the night
make I my bed to swim; I water
my couch with my tears.
7 Mine eye is consumed
because of grief; it waxeth old because
of all mine enemies.
8 Depart from me, all ye workers
of iniquity; for the LORD hath heard the voice of my weeping.
9 The LORD hath heard my supplication; the LORD will receive
my prayer.
10 Let all mine enemies

1.
Pray. Praying is talking with God. So, find a quiet

2.
Read and meditate

and sprang up, and bare fruit an hundredfold.
And when he had said these things,
he cried, He that hath ears to hear,
let him hear.
13 Say, I pray thee,
thou art my sister: that it may be well with me for thy sake;
and my soul shall live because of thee.
14 And it came to pass, that, when Abram was come into Egypt, the Egyptians beheld the woman that she was
very fair.
15 The princes
also of Pharaoh saw her, and commended
her before Pharaoh: and the woman was taken into
Pharaoh's house.
16 And he entreated Abram well for her sake: and he had sheep, and oxen, and
he asses, and menservants, and maidservants, and she asses, and camels.
17 And the LORD plagued Pharaoh and his house
with great plagues
because of Sarai Abram's
wife.
18 And Pharaoh
called Abram and said, What is this that thou hast done unto
me? why didst thou not tell me that she was thy wife?
19 Why saidst thou, She is my sister? so I might have taken
her to me to wife: now therefore behold thy wife, take
her, and go thy way.
20 And Pharaoh
commanded his men concerning him: and they sent him away,
and his wife, and all that he had.
Psalm
6 O LORD, rebuke me not in thine anger,
neither chasten me in thy hot
displeasure.
2 Have mercy upon me, O
LORD; for I am weak: O
LORD, heal me; for my bones
are vexed.
3
My soul is also sore vexed: but thou, O LORD, how long?
4 Return, O LORD, deliver
my soul: oh save me for thy mercies' sake.
5 For in death there is no remembrance of thee: in the grave who shall give
thee thanks?
6 I am weary with my groaning; all the night
make I my bed to swim; I water
my couch with my tears.
7 Mine eye is consumed
because of grief; it waxeth old because
of all mine enemies.
8 Depart from me, all ye workers
of iniquity; for the LORD hath heard the voice of my weeping.
9 The LORD hath heard my supplication; the LORD will receive
my prayer.
10 Let all mine enemies
be ashamed and sore vexed: let them return and be
ashamed suddenly.
