Rejoice!

Rejoice!

By Riqui Ricón*

But let all those that put their trust in thee rejoice: let them ever shout for joy, because thou defendest them (Psalm 5:11a, KJV).

The Bible, which is the Word of God and does not lie, is very clear regarding the lifestyle that God, your Father, desires for you to live in this world. Jubilee and joy can and should be a hallmark of your life.

But how can you have jubilee and joy when you are facing problems, illnesses, afflictions, or challenges that overwhelm you? Understand this: the only possible way to face your problems, illnesses, afflictions, or challenges with jubilee and joy throughout this beginning year is by trusting in God.

These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world (John 16:33, KJV).

It is by putting all your trust in God, knowing that He will never fail His Word, that despite afflictions, you can have peace and be joyful.

And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose (Romans 8:28, KJV).

That’s right—you can, quite literally, be joyful in the middle of afflictions, with that peace that surpasses all understanding. This is because you know, without a doubt, that God is with you; He hasn't left you and won't leave you, and that in all things you will come out more than a conqueror because you can do all things through Christ who strengthens you. It is written! It is the Word of God!

Let them also that love thy name be joyful in thee. For thou, Lord, wilt bless the righteous; with favour wilt thou compass him as with a shield (Psalm 5:11b-12, KJV).

You are a Born-Again Child of God, and your Father’s Blessing is upon you. This Blessing includes God's protection and favor. God’s favor is God’s Grace. By

having God’s favor, you can have the desire and the power of God to do His will with joy. This desire and power from God to do His Will with joy act as a shield of blessing around you.

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved (John 3:16-17, KJV).

Indeed, this year you are going to rejoice because you love Him and He loves you so much that He chose to give up His own Son, Jesus, to pay for all your sins and make you righteous. And the Scripture says that God will bless the righteous. This year you will live with a shield, surrounded by the favor and Grace of your heavenly Father.

But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him (Hebrews 11:6, KJV).

The only thing Jesus asks of you is to trust in Him, to believe Him, and to believe His Word without doubting. The Bible says that Abraham believed God, and that—believing God—was counted unto him for righteousness; in other words, he was made righteous by believing the Word of God.

And Peter answered him and said, Lord, if it be thou, bid me come unto thee on the water. And he said, Come. And when Peter was come down out of the ship, he walked on the water, to go to Jesus. But when he saw the wind boisterous, he was afraid; and beginning to sink, he cried, saying, Lord, save me. And immediately Jesus stretched forth his hand, and caught him, and said unto him, O thou of little faith, wherefore didst thou doubt? (Matthew 14:28-31, KJV).

Faced with the challenge of walking on water, Peter only needed one Word from the Lord Jesus: Come! Initially, Peter believed Jesus' Word and began to walk on the water, but reality (the strength of the wind) distracted him from the Truth (the Word of God), and he doubted the Word and began to sink.

The key to all of this is that when problems, illnesses, or afflictions blow so hard, do NOT stop looking at Jesus. Do NOT stop attending to and believing His

Word; because if you do, you will look at the circumstances and welcome fear, which will nullify your faith.

No, my beloved! This year is a decisive year in your life! Say to that situation: I know whom I have believed, and I shall never be ashamed for having trusted in the Word of God. Turn your back on it! Stop looking at it! And fix your eyes on Jesus, the author and finisher of your faith.

Rejoice and shout for joy every day of this year because, in Christ Jesus, you are a Born-Again Child of God. You have your heavenly Father’s Word of Honor that nothing and no one will be able to stand against you all the days of your life, for in the same way He was with Jesus Christ, He is with you. A thousand shall fall at your side, and ten thousand at your right hand, but it shall not come nigh thee; and though you walk through the valley of the shadow of death, you will FEAR NO evil because God is with you.

What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us? (Romans 8:31, KJV).

This year you are destined to have more victories than Joshua had; just make the Bible the ultimate standard for your living, putting it in your mind, mouth, and heart. It is the only and most important thing you must do.

This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success (Joshua 1:8, KJV).

If you do this, then (not before, nor after, nor in any other way), you will make your way prosperous and everything will go well for you!

Let’s pray out loud:

Beloved heavenly Father, I can see in Your Word, the Bible, that Your expressed Will for my life is love, joy, peace, and freedom. I also know that You, Jesus Christ, have already paid to give me that life, full and abundant, which is Eternal Life, which I,                                        (your name here), have every right to experience every day; for, by the New Covenant in Your Blood,

Jesus, I am a Born-Again Child of God. Therefore, I have every certainty and conviction that this year I will come out more than a conqueror in all things. I will not allow any affliction to steal my joy and my peace, because I know the end of the story—I’ve already read the end of the book! I will come out victorious! I can do all things through You, my Lord Jesus! I call joy and jubilee into my life, for, O Lord of hosts, blessed is the man that trusteth in thee.

Therefore, I believe and declare that I am healed! I am free! I am prosperous! I am blessed! I am a Child of the King! In the name of Jesus. Amen.

Important Note:

How do I become a Child of God? How do I establish a relationship with the Almighty?

Just say the following prayer aloud, putting all your attention and heart into what you are saying to God:

Lord Jesus, I believe that You are the Son of God. That You came into this world, born of the virgin Mary, to pay for all my sins, and I have been a sinner. Therefore, today I say that I accept. I accept Your sacrifice on the cross! I accept Your precious Blood shed to the last drop out of love for me! I open my heart to You and invite You in because I want, Lord Jesus, that from today and forever You be my only and sufficient Savior, my God, my King, and my Lord.

Thank You, Almighty God, because with this simple prayer and profession of faith I have passed from death to Life, I have been transferred from darkness to Your marvelous Light. Today I have been Born Again! God, now I am Your Child! Now You are my Father! I will never be alone again! I will never live defeated again. In the name of Jesus. Amen.

Three Recommendations:

What just happened by you recognizing Jesus Christ as the Lord and Savior of your life, according to God's Word, is that you have been Born Again. No longer as an ordinary human being, subject to the law of sin and death, but now as a legitimate and authentic Child of God, Born Again, exactly like Jesus Christ, who is now your Older Brother. Therefore, I give you these three, very important, recommendations:

1.    Pray. Praying is talking with God. So, find a quiet place where you can begin talking to Him about everything. Do it out loud, and you will notice how God always responds to your heart.

2.    Read and meditate on the Word of God. The Bible is the Word of God, so get a Bible and start reading and meditating on it. How do you begin? It’s very simple. Depending on the day, look up the reading program “The

Bible in One Year” and do the corresponding readings. You can get this program at: Through The Bible In One Year (palabradehonor.org). You will notice that the program is set up so you can print it as a booklet.

3.    In prayer with God, your Father, look for and join a Christian church or congregation where the Word of God is taught based on the Good News, which are the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Reading and Meditation on the Word of God

Do these daily readings, and by the end of one year you will have read the entire Bible.

January 5    Luke 7.18/50 / Genesis 11 / Psalm 5 Luke

18  And the disciples of John shewed him of all these things.

19  And John calling unto him two of his disciples sent them to Jesus, saying, Art thou he that should come? or look we for another?

20  When the men were come unto him, they said, John Baptist hath sent us unto thee, saying, Art thou he that should come? or look we for another?

21  And in that same hour he cured many of their infirmities and plagues, and of evil spirits; and unto many that were blind he gave sight.

22  Then Jesus answering said unto them, Go your way, and tell John what things ye have seen and heard; how that the blind see, the lame walk, the lepers are cleansed, the deaf hear, the dead are raised, to the poor the gospel is preached.

23  And blessed is he, whosoever shall not be offended in me.

24  And when the messengers of John were departed, he began to speak unto the people concerning John, What went ye out into the wilderness for to see?

A reed shaken with the wind?

25  But what went ye out for to see? A man clothed in soft raiment? Behold, they which are gorgeously apparelled, and live delicately, are in kings' courts.

26  But what went ye out for to see? A prophet? Yea, I say unto you, and much more than a prophet.

27  This is he, of whom it is written, Behold, I send my messenger before thy face, which shall prepare thy way before thee.

28  For I say unto you, Among those that are born of women there is not a greater prophet than John the Baptist: but he that is least in the kingdom of God is greater than he.

29  And all the people that heard him, and the publicans, justified God, being baptized with the baptism of John.

30  But the Pharisees and lawyers rejected the counsel of God against themselves, being not baptized of him.

31  And the Lord said, Whereunto then shall I liken the men of this generation? and to what are they like?

32  They are like unto children sitting in the marketplace, and calling one to another, and saying, We have piped unto you, and ye have not danced; we have mourned to you, and ye have not wept.

33  For John the Baptist came neither eating bread nor drinking wine; and ye say, He hath a devil.

34  The Son of man is come eating and drinking; and ye say, Behold a gluttonous man, and a winebibber, a friend of publicans and sinners!

35  But wisdom is justified of all her children.

36  And one of the Pharisees desired him that he would eat with him. And he went into the Pharisee's house, and sat down to meat.

37  And, behold, a woman in the city, which was a sinner, when she knew that Jesus sat at meat in the Pharisee's house, brought an alabaster box of ointment,

38  And stood at his feet behind him weeping, and began to wash his feet with tears, and did wipe them with the hairs of her head, and kissed his feet, and anointed them with the ointment.

39  Now when the Pharisee which had bidden him saw it, he spake within himself, saying, This man, if he were a prophet, would have known who and what manner of woman this is that toucheth him: for she is a sinner.

40  And Jesus answering said unto him, Simon, I have somewhat to say unto thee. And he saith, Master, say on.

41  There was a certain creditor which had two debtors: the one owed five hundred pence, and the other fifty.

42  And when they had nothing to pay, he frankly forgave them both. Tell me therefore, which of them will love him most?

43  Simon answered and said, I suppose that he, to whom he forgave most. And he said unto him, Thou hast rightly judged.

44  And he turned to the woman, and said unto Simon, Seest thou this woman? I entered into thine house, thou gavest me no water for my feet: but she hath washed my feet with tears, and wiped them with the hairs of her head.

45  Thou gavest me no kiss: but this woman since the time I came in hath not ceased to kiss my feet.

46  My head with oil thou didst not anoint: but this woman hath anointed my feet with ointment.

47  Wherefore I say unto thee, Her sins, which are many, are forgiven; for she loved much: but to whom little is forgiven, the same loveth little.

48  And he said unto her, Thy sins are forgiven.

49  And they that sat at meat with him began to say within themselves, Who is this that forgiveth sins also?

50  And he said to the woman, Thy faith hath saved thee; go in peace.

Genesis

11 And the whole earth was of one language, and of one speech.

2  And it came to pass, as they journeyed from the east, that they found a plain in the land of Shinar; and they dwelt there.

3  And they said one to another, Go to, let us make brick, and burn them thoroughly. And they had brick for stone, and slime had they for morter.

4  And they said, Go to, let us build us a city and a tower, whose top may reach unto heaven; and let us make us a name, lest we be scattered abroad upon the face of the whole earth.

5  And the LORD came down to see the city and the tower, which the children of men builded.

6  And the LORD said, Behold, the people is one, and they have all one language; and this they begin to do: and now nothing will be restrained from them, which they have imagined to do.

7  Go to, let us go down, and there confound their language, that they may not understand one another's speech.

8  So the LORD scattered them abroad from thence upon the face of all the earth: and they left off to build the city.

9  Therefore is the name of it called Babel; because the LORD did there confound the language of all the earth: and from thence did the LORD scatter them abroad upon the face of all the earth.

10  These are the generations of Shem: Shem was an hundred years old, and begat Arphaxad two years after the flood:

11  And Shem lived after he begat Arphaxad five hundred years, and begat sons and daughters.

12  And Arphaxad lived five and thirty years, and begat Salah:

13  And Arphaxad lived after he begat Salah four hundred and three years, and begat sons and daughters.

14  And Salah lived thirty years, and begat Eber:

15  And Salah lived after he begat Eber four hundred and three years, and begat sons and daughters.

16  And Eber lived four and thirty years, and begat Peleg:

17  And Eber lived after he begat Peleg four hundred and thirty years, and begat sons and daughters.

18  And Peleg lived thirty years, and begat Reu:

19  And Peleg lived after he begat Reu two hundred and nine years, and begat sons and daughters.

20  And Reu lived two and thirty years, and begat Serug:

21  And Reu lived after he begat Serug two hundred and seven years, and begat sons and daughters.

22  And Serug lived thirty years, and begat Nahor:

23  And Serug lived after he begat Nahor two hundred years, and begat sons and daughters.

24  And Nahor lived nine and twenty years, and begat Terah:

25  And Nahor lived after he begat Terah an hundred and nineteen years, and begat sons and daughters.

26  And Terah lived seventy years, and begat Abram, Nahor, and Haran.

27  Now these are the generations of Terah: Terah begat Abram, Nahor, and Haran; and Haran begat Lot.

28  And Haran died before his father Terah in the land of his nativity, in Ur of the Chaldees.

29  And Abram and Nahor took them wives: the name of Abram's wife was Sarai; and the name of Nahor's wife, Milcah, the daughter of Haran, the father of Milcah, and the father of Iscah.

30  But Sarai was barren; she had no child.

31  And Terah took Abram his son, and Lot the son of Haran his son's son, and Sarai his daughter in law, his son Abram's wife; and they went forth with them from Ur of the Chaldees, to go into the land of Canaan; and they came unto Haran, and dwelt there.

32  And the days of Terah were two hundred and five years: and Terah died in Haran.

Psalm

5 Give ear to my words, O LORD, consider my meditation.

2  Hearken unto the voice of my cry, my King, and my God: for unto thee will I pray.

3  My voice shalt thou hear in the morning, O LORD; in the morning will I direct my prayer unto thee, and will look up.

4  For thou art not a God that hath pleasure in wickedness: neither shall evil dwell with thee.

5  The foolish shall not stand in thy sight: thou hatest all workers of iniquity.

6  Thou shalt destroy them that speak leasing: the LORD will abhor the bloody and deceitful man.

7  But as for me, I will come into thy house in the multitude of thy mercy: and in thy fear will I worship toward thy holy temple.

8  Lead me, O LORD, in thy righteousness because of mine enemies; make thy way straight before my face.

9  For there is no faithfulness in their mouth; their inward part is very wickedness; their throat is an open sepulchre; they flatter with their tongue.

10  Destroy thou them, O God; let them fall by their own counsels; cast them out in the multitude of their transgressions; for they have rebelled against thee.

11  But let all those that put their trust in thee rejoice: let them ever shout for joy, because thou defendest them: let them also that love thy name be joyful in thee.

12  For thou, LORD, wilt bless the righteous; with favour wilt thou compass him as with a shield.
