Feeling Trapped?
He Broke
Your Chains!
By Riqui Ricón*
Give thanks to the Lord, for he is
good; his love endures forever. Let the redeemed of the Lord tell
their story—those he redeemed from the power of
the enemy… He brought them out of darkness and the shadow
of death, and broke their chains… He sent out his
word and healed them; he rescued them from the grave. (Psalm
107:1–2, 14, 20, NIV)
Being a believer means more than just
believing in God—it means trusting Him. It means believing
that what He says will happen, that His Word will come true, even if the heavens and the
earth disappear before His promises fail.
Write now to the Jews as seems best to you, in the king’s name,
and seal it with
the king’s ring; for a decree written in the king’s name and sealed with his
ring cannot be revoked. (Esther 8:8, KJV)
If this is true for human laws (because
human laws must be obeyed),
how
much more true is it for the Words that come out of God’s mouth!
I encourage you today to pause for a moment
and meditate with me: What do
I really mean when I declare that the Bible is the Word of God? Do I truly
believe that the Bible contains
the very Words that came from God’s mouth?
The prophet Isaiah
said,
Who has believed our message and to whom has the arm of the
Lord been revealed? He shall grow up before
Him as a tender plant. (Isaiah 53:1, NIV)
According to the Bible, which is God’s Word
and does not lie, everyone who believes that the Bible is truly God’s Word is renewed, made new, given a new nature, and will rise before Him!
So, if God says He sent His Word to heal you and rescue
you from destruction, what will you do? Will you believe your natural senses
that tell you you’re sick and may not live long? Will you
believe the terrible circumstances that steal
your hope for your family, your life, or
your marriage? Will you believe the sadness and depression that constantly accuse you of your failures
and sins, trying to convince
you life isn’t worth living?
If I were you, I’d believe God—because He cannot lie, and every Word that comes from His mouth is truth.
Heaven and earth will pass away,
but my words will never pass away. (Luke
21:33, KJV)
So decide today
to be healthy and free.
For God so loved the world that he
gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall
not perish but have eternal
life. For God did not send his Son
into the world to condemn
the world, but to save the world
through him. (John
3:16–17, KJV)
God loves you so much that He chose to give His own Son, Jesus Christ,
to pay for all your sins
rather than lose you.
Look at how great
the love the Father has given us! It even makes it possible for us to be called children of God. And
that is what we really are. The people of the world
do not recognize us, because
they do not know God. (1 John 3:1, PDT)
Jesus didn’t just pay for all your sins with
His life to justify you and forgive you—He rose from the dead,
defeating death, so you could have the eternal
life that only children of God, born again, can have.
Now God calls
you His very own son or daughter!
The thief comes only to steal
and kill and destroy; I have come that they may
have life, and have it to the full. (John
10:10, NIV)
The life that Jesus and your Father, God, have prepared
for you is not just an
ordinary life. It’s not a simple “wipe the slate clean” kind of life. It’s a
completely
new life, totally
beyond what you can imagine.
It’s eternal life—the only truly full and abundant
life.
Dear friend, I pray that you may enjoy good health
and that all may go well
with you, even as your soul is getting along well. (3 John
1:2, NIV)
This is your Heavenly
Father’s will for your life!
All of these are decrees
from the King that CANNOT
be revoked.
In every province
and city, wherever
the king’s decree
went, the Jews were full of
joy and celebrated; they
declared a holiday and rejoiced. Many people from the
surrounding areas also became Jews out of fear of what might happen if
they didn’t respect
the Jews. (Esther
8:17, NLT)
The king’s decree
IS the Word of the King!
Then Nehemiah added:
“Go and enjoy choice
food and sweet
drinks, and send some to those who have nothing
prepared. This day is holy to our Lord. Do not
grieve, for the joy of the Lord is your strength.” (Nehemiah 8:10, NIV)
The decrees that the King has issued
in your favor are the source of your joy,
happiness, and celebration. God’s Word is your strength!
By His divine power, God has given
us everything we need for a godly life through our knowledge of Him who called
us by His own glory and goodness. Through these, He has given us His very great
and precious promises, so that through them you may share in the divine nature
and escape the corruption in the world caused by evil desires. (2
Peter 1:3–4, NLT)
How could the joy of the Lord not be your strength
if the promises of the Bible
let you participate in God’s nature? You ARE
truly and legitimately a child of God, born again.
And by believing God’s promises, you are able to escape
the corruption of the world, caused by human desires.
This is one of the King’s decrees that
should bring you the greatest joy, because it assures
and guarantees your victory through
your identity as a child of God and everything the Lord
Jesus has done for you.
All of this is the truth. It’s written in the Bible, God’s Word,
and you receive
it
by faith—by believing
God and trusting His Word.
One time, a father came to Jesus,
asking for his son
to be healed. He said,
“If you can do anything, have mercy on us and help us.” Jesus answered,
“If you can believe, all things are possible to him who believes.”
(Mark 9:22–23, KJV)
Today, decide to put aside,
once and for all, all the doubts
that the spirit
of fear tries to bring. Resist
it, because Scripture says:
Submit yourselves to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.
(James 4:7, KJV)
Don’t be afraid—just believe! God is good, and His love endures forever!
But you are a chosen people, a
royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people belonging to God, that you may
declare the praises of Him who called you out of darkness
into His wonderful
light. Once you were not a people,
but now you are the people of God; once you had not received mercy, but
now you have received mercy. (1 Peter 2:9–10, NIV)
Jesus has already brought you out of
darkness and the shadow of death. He has already broken
your chains! Now you are a royal
priesthood, a holy nation,
a people belonging to God. You are a child of God, born again!
Having been born again, not of perishable seed, but of imperishable, through the living and enduring Word of
God. (1 Peter 1:23, NIV)
So live today with joy and complete certainty of faith, because the
Bible is indeed God’s Word of honor.
If He said it, He will do it. If God spoke it, He will
carry it out.
Let us pray aloud:
Beloved Heavenly Father,
I thank You because Your Word is a lamp for my feet
and a light for my path. Lord, I know You do not lie and cannot lie, and I know
that Your Word is truth and will be fulfilled completely. You have said that You
love me so much that You will deliver me from the hunter’s trap and from the
destructive plague. Cover me with Your feathers, for under Your wings I am
safe. Your Word is my shield and my sword, so I will not fear the terror of the
night, nor the arrow that flies by day, nor the plague that stalks in darkness,
nor the destruction that strikes at midday, for thousands may fall at my side,
but it will not come near me, because You, Jesus, are with me. Today I declare,
trusting in the Word of God, that in every problem, worry, or illness, I,
(your
name here), will be more than a conqueror through the One who loved me, Christ
Jesus, my King, Lord, and Savior. I will live this day with complete confidence
in life because I trust in You, Lord. The
Lord Almighty, God and Eternal Father,
blessed is the man and woman who trust in You. I am healthy! I am free! I am
prosperous! I am joyful! In the name of Jesus, Amen!
Important Note:
How do I become a Child of God? How do I establish a relationship with the
Almighty?
Just say the following prayer
aloud, putting all your attention
and heart into what you are saying to God:
Lord Jesus, I believe that You are the Son of
God. That You came into this world, born of
the virgin Mary, to pay for all my sins, and I have been a sinner. Therefore, today I say that I accept. I accept Your
sacrifice on the cross! I accept Your precious
Blood shed to the last drop out of love for me! I open my
heart to You and invite You in because I want, Lord Jesus, that from today and
forever You be my only and sufficient Savior, my God, my King, and my Lord.
Thank You, Almighty God, because with this
simple prayer and profession of faith I have passed from death to Life, I have been transferred from darkness
to Your marvelous Light. Today I have been Born Again! God, now I am Your
Child! Now You are my Father! I will never be alone again! I will never live
defeated again. In the name of Jesus. Amen.

Three Recommendations:
What just happened by you recognizing Jesus Christ as the Lord and
Savior of your life, according to God's Word,
is that you have been Born Again.
No longer as an ordinary human
being, subject to the law of sin and death, but now as a legitimate and
authentic Child of God, Born Again, exactly like Jesus Christ, who is now your Older Brother. Therefore,
I give you these three, very important, recommendations:
1.
Pray. Praying is talking with God. So, find a quiet
place where you can begin talking to Him about everything. Do it out loud, and you will notice
how God always
responds to your heart.
2.
Read and meditate
on the Word of God. The Bible is the Word of God, so get a Bible
and start reading
and meditating on it. How do you begin? It’s very simple. Depending on the day,
look up the reading program “The Bible in
One Year” and do the corresponding readings. You can get this program at: Through The Bible In One Year
(palabradehonor.org). You will notice that the program is set up so you can
print it as a booklet.
3.
In prayer with God, your Father, look for and join a
Christian church or congregation where the Word of God is taught based on the Good News, which are the Gospel of Jesus
Christ.

October 17 Revelation 15 / Esther
7-8 / Psalm 107.1-22
Revelation
15 And I saw another
sign in heaven, great and marvellous, seven
angels having the seven last plagues; for in them is filled up the wrath
of God.
2 And I saw as it
were a sea of glass mingled with fire: and them that had gotten the victory over the beast,
and over his image, and over his mark, and over the number of his name, stand on
the sea of glass, having the harps of God.
3 And they sing the
song of Moses the servant of God, and the song of the Lamb, saying,
Great and marvellous are thy works,
Lord God Almighty;
just and true are thy ways,
thou King of saints.
4 Who shall not
fear thee, O Lord, and glorify thy name? for thou only art holy: for all nations shall come and worship before
thee; for thy judgments are made
manifest.
5 And after that I looked, and, behold, the temple of the tabernacle of the testimony in
heaven was opened:
6 And the seven
angels came out of the temple, having the seven plagues, clothed in pure and white linen,
and having their breasts girded with golden girdles.
7 And one of the four beasts
gave unto the seven angels
seven golden vials full
of the wrath of God, who liveth for ever and ever.
8 And the temple
was filled with smoke from the glory of God, and from his power; and no man was able to enter into the temple, till the seven
plagues of the seven angels
were fulfilled.
Esther
7 So the king and Haman came to banquet
with Esther the queen.
2 And the king
said again unto Esther on the second day at the banquet of wine, What is thy petition, queen Esther? and it shall
be granted thee: and
what is thy request? and it shall be performed, even to the half of the kingdom.
3 Then Esther
the queen answered
and said, If I have found favour in thy sight,
O king, and if it please the king, let my life be given me at my petition, and
my people at my request:
4 For we are sold, I and my people,
to be destroyed, to be slain, and to perish. But if we had been sold for bondmen
and bondwomen, I had held my tongue, although the enemy could not
countervail the king's damage.
5 Then the king Ahasuerus
answered and said unto Esther
the queen, Who is
he, and where is he, that durst presume in his heart to do so?
6 And Esther
said, The adversary
and enemy is this wicked
Haman. Then Haman was afraid
before the king and the queen.
7 And the king
arising from the banquet of wine in his wrath went into the palace garden:
and Haman stood up to make request
for his life to Esther
the queen; for he saw that there was evil determined against him by the
king.
8 Then the king
returned out of the palace garden into the place of the banquet of wine; and Haman was fallen upon the bed whereon Esther
was.
Then said the king, Will he force the queen also before me in the house? As the
word went out of king's mouth, they covered Haman's face.
9 And Harbonah, one
of the chamberlains, said before the king, Behold also, the gallows fifty
cubits high, which Haman had made for Mordecai, who spoken good for the king, standeth
in the house of Haman.
Then the king said,
Hang him thereon.
10 So they hanged Haman on the gallows that he had prepared for Mordecai.
Then was the king's wrath pacified.
8 On that day did the king Ahasuerus give the house of Haman the Jews'
enemy unto Esther the queen.
And Mordecai came before the king; for Esther
had told what he was unto her.
2 And the king took off his ring, which
he had taken from Haman,
and gave it unto Mordecai. And Esther set Mordecai
over the house of Haman.
3 And Esther spake
yet again before the king, and fell down at his feet, and besought him with tears to put away the mischief of Haman the Agagite, and his device that he had devised
against the Jews.
4 Then the king held out the golden sceptre
toward Esther. So Esther arose, and stood before the king,
5 And said, If it please the king, and if I have favour in his sight, and the thing seem right before the king, and I
be pleasing in his eyes, let it be written to reverse the letters devised by
Haman the son of Hammedatha the Agagite, which he wrote to destroy the Jews
which are in all the king's provinces:
6 For how can I endure to see the evil that shall come unto my people? or how
can I endure to see the destruction of my kindred?
7 Then the king Ahasuerus
said unto Esther
the queen and to Mordecai
the Jew, Behold, I have given Esther the house of Haman, and him they
have hanged upon the gallows, because he laid his hand upon the Jews.
8 Write ye also for the Jews, as it liketh you, in the king's name, and seal it with the king's ring: for the writing
which is written in the king's name, and sealed with the king's ring, may no
man reverse.
9 Then were the
king's scribes called at that time in the third month, that is, the month
Sivan, on the three and twentieth day thereof; and it was written according to
all that Mordecai commanded unto the Jews, and to the lieutenants, and the deputies
and rulers of the provinces which are from India
unto Ethiopia, an hundred twenty and seven provinces, unto every province
according to the writing thereof, and unto every people after their language,
and to the Jews according to their writing, and according to their language.
10 And he wrote in
the king Ahasuerus' name, and sealed it with the king's ring, and sent letters
by posts on horseback, and riders on mules, camels,
and young dromedaries:
11 Wherein the king
granted the Jews which were in every city to gather themselves together,
and to stand for their
life, to destroy,
to slay and to cause to perish, all the power of the
people and province that would assault them, both little ones and women, and to
take the spoil of them for a prey,
12 Upon one day in all the provinces of king Ahasuerus, namely, upon the thirteenth day of the twelfth month,
which is the month Adar.
13 The copy of the
writing for a commandment to be given in every province was published
unto all people,
and that the Jews should be ready
against that day to avenge
themselves on their enemies.
14 So the posts that rode upon mules and camels went out, being hastened
and pressed on by the king's commandment. And the decree was given at Shushan
the palace.
15 And Mordecai
went out from the presence
of the king in royal
apparel of blue and white,
and with a great crown of gold, and with a garment of fine linen and purple:
and the city of Shushan rejoiced and was glad.
16 The Jews had light, and gladness,
and joy, and honour.
17 And in every
province, and in every city, whithersoever the king's commandment and his
decree came, the Jews had joy and gladness, a feast and a good day. And many of the people of the land became Jews; for the fear
of the Jews fell upon them.
Psalm
107 O give thanks unto the LORD, for he is good: for his mercy endureth for ever.
2 Let the redeemed of the LORD say so, whom he hath redeemed
from the hand of the enemy;
3 And gathered
them out of the lands,
from the east,
and from the west, from the north, and from the south.
4 They wandered
in the wilderness in a solitary way; they found no city to
dwell in.
5 Hungry and thirsty, their soul fainted
in them.
6 Then they cried unto the
LORD in their trouble,
and he delivered them out of
their distresses.
7 And he led them forth by the right way, that they might go to a city of
habitation.
8 Oh that men would praise the LORD for his goodness,
and for his wonderful works
to the children of men!
9 For he satisfieth the longing soul, and filleth
the hungry soul with goodness.
10 Such as sit in darkness and in the shadow of death, being bound in affliction
and iron;
11 Because they rebelled against
the words of God, and contemned the counsel of the most High:
12 Therefore he brought down their heart with labour;
they fell down,
and there was none to help.
13 Then they cried unto the LORD in their trouble, and he saved them out of
their distresses.
14 He brought
them out of darkness and the shadow
of death, and brake their bands in sunder.
15 Oh that men would praise the LORD for his goodness,
and for his wonderful works
to the children of men!
16 For he hath broken
the gates of brass, and cut the bars of iron in sunder.
17 Fools because
of their transgression, and because of their iniquities, are afflicted.
18 Their soul abhorreth all manner of meat; and they draw near unto the gates of death.
19 Then they cry unto the LORD in their trouble, and he saveth
them out of their distresses.
20 He sent his word, and healed them, and delivered them from their destructions.
21 Oh that men would praise the LORD for his goodness,
and for his wonderful works
to the children of men!
22 And let them sacrifice
the sacrifices of thanksgiving, and declare his works
with rejoicing.

October 17 Revelation 15 / Esther
7-8 / Psalm 107.1-22
Revelation
15 And I saw another
sign in heaven, great and marvellous, seven
angels having the seven last plagues; for in them is filled up the wrath
of God.
2 And I saw as it
were a sea of glass mingled with fire: and them that had gotten the victory over the beast,
and over his image, and over his mark, and over the number of his name, stand on
the sea of glass, having the harps of God.
3 And they sing the
song of Moses the servant of God, and the song of the Lamb, saying,
Great and marvellous are thy works,
Lord God Almighty;
just and true are thy ways,
thou King of saints.
2 Let the redeemed of the LORD say so, whom he hath redeemed
from the hand of the enemy;
3 And gathered
them out of the lands,
from the east,
and from the west, from the north, and from the south.
4 They wandered
in the wilderness in a solitary way; they found no city to
dwell in.
5 Hungry and thirsty, their soul fainted
in them.
6 Then they cried unto the
LORD in their trouble,
and he delivered them out of
their distresses.
7 And he led them forth by the right way, that they might go to a city of
habitation.
8 Oh that men would praise the LORD for his goodness,
and for his wonderful works
to the children of men!
9 For he satisfieth the longing soul, and filleth
the hungry soul with goodness.
10 Such as sit in darkness and in the shadow of death, being bound in affliction
and iron;
11 Because they rebelled against
the words of God, and contemned the counsel of the most High:
12 Therefore he brought down their heart with labour;
they fell down,
and there was none to help.
