The Dawn Has Come for You!
By Riqui Ricón*
"To the law and to the testimony! If they speak
not according to this word,
it is because there is no
light in them" (Isa 8:20 KJV).
When I ask believers what the Bible is, most respond immediately that it is the
Word of God. Inevitably, this answer makes me ask again: What does it really
mean to BELIEVE that the Bible is God’s Word? At this point, almost everyone
looks at me with a stunned expression, the kind that says: “Huh? Um… Could you
repeat the question?”
Saying the Bible is God’s Word is a huge
responsibility because it means you must BELIEVE that every single word in the
Bible literally comes from God’s mouth, and therefore, EVERY WORD IS TRUE and every one of them will come to pass.
Once, Dr. Jerry Savelle, a great preacher
and man of faith, put me in an awkward spot during one of his conferences when
he gave what he called the only two possible
reasons why a believer lives in fear, doubt, sickness,
poverty, defeat, or powerless: either you don’t know God’s Word, or you
DON’T BELIEVE IT.
Think
about it carefully—why would you live in fear and doubt knowing with complete
certainty that Almighty God has spoken Words of love and victory over your
life? Words like: by my wounds you are
healed; in all things you are more than a conqueror; you are my beloved
child; greater am I who lives in you than he who is in the world; though your father and mother leave you, I
will gather you; a thousand may fall
at your side, ten thousand at your right hand, but it shall not come near you;
and so on?
The only possible answers to this question are: either you don’t
realize that all this has been decreed over your life by the one true God, or even if you do, you
don’t believe it.
The interesting thing
is that after this reflection, now you do know, and all
that’s left is to believe.
"But we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery,
even the hidden wisdom, which God
ordained before the world unto our glory, which none of the princes of this
world knew: for had they known it, they would not have crucified the Lord of
glory" (1 Co 2:7-8 KJV).
Satan knows the Bible very well, but he DOES NOT BELIEVE
IT. If he believed it, he would have already repented. The
foolish one still thinks he can get away with it and win.
So, whenever you face a problem or difficult situation
in your life, always ask yourself these two questions:
1. Do I know of any Promise
that God has made to me in His Word concerning my need?
2.
Do
I believe that God will fulfill the Promise He gave me in His Word
concerning this need?
I can assure you, there is no situation where you cannot answer yes to these questions.
If
someone tells you, “Consult the
fortune-tellers and those who whisper and mutter; shouldn’t a people
inquire of their gods and the dead on behalf
of the living?”, I say: “Stick to the law and the testimony!” For
those who do not follow this, there will be no dawn (Isa 8:19-20 NIV).
In this world system, I continually meet people who are more willing and eager
to believe in dreams and visions, or in some word from a prophet or enlightened
person, than to believe God—to believe His Word.
And while this is very sad, the Good News is: you are not of this world.
"I have given them Your Word; and the world has hated them, because they are
not of the world, even as I am not of the world. I do not pray that You should
take them out of the world, but that You should keep them from the evil one.
They are not of the world, even as I am not of the world" (Jn
17:14,16 NIV).
This is affirmed
in Scripture through
the very words of our Lord Jesus.
We also have the more sure prophetic Word,
to which you do well to pay attention, as to a light shining in a dark place,
until the day dawns and the morning star rises in your hearts; understanding
this first, that no prophecy of Scripture is of any private interpretation, for
prophecy never came by the will of man, but holy men of God spoke as they were moved by the Holy Spirit (2 Pe 1:19-21 KJV).
Clearly, Scripture teaches
that there is no prophetic word more reliable
than the Bible.
On the day the Lord delivered the Amorites
into the hands of Israel, Joshua said to the Lord in the presence
of all the people: “Sun, stand still over Gibeon; and you, Moon, in the valley of
Ajalon.” And the sun stood still, and the moon stopped, until the nation
avenged themselves on their enemies. This is recorded in the Book of Jasher.
Indeed, the sun stood still in the middle of the sky and did not move for
about a whole day. Never before or since has there been a day like that; it was
the day the Lord listened to a human command.
Surely, the Lord was fighting for Israel (Jos 10:12-14
NIV).
In this episode
from Joshua’s life, you can see how knowing and believing what God had said and promised enabled him
to accomplish one of the most astonishing miracles on record. He was able, by the power of his spoken word, to stop the overwhelming gravitational
forces of the sun, the earth, and the moon.
How did this happen? Just remember that God had previously instructed him:
"This Book of the Law shall
not depart from your mouth,
but you shall meditate in it
day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in
it; for then you shall make your way prosperous, and then you shall have good
success" (Jos 1:8 KJV).
So now you know! Turn to the Bible and place
it in your mouth, mind, and heart, for if you speak, pray, and declare
according to what is written in it, then—and
only then—you will make your way prosperous, and everything will go well for you.
You will live in the splendor of a Child
of God born again, for truly, the light has already come to you.
Let’s pray out loud:
Blessed Heavenly Father, how can I not be
grateful for Your Word, the Bible, where You have decreed Words of Love and
Blessing over my life? You do not lie, and Your Word must be fulfilled fully
and completely in my life. Thank You, Lord, for such great Love, that though I
was dead in sins and transgressions, You gave
me Eternal Life together with Christ. It is
by Your Grace and Love that You
have made me an heir of salvation. Now I know it and I believe it: even though
I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil because
You are with me; You deliver me from the snare of the hunter and from the
destroying plague; no harm will come upon me, and no disaster will touch my
dwelling; You will supply all my needs according to Your riches in glory; I can
do all things through Christ Jesus who strengthens me. Therefore, I resist the
spirit of deception, lies, and fear. I am a beloved Child of the living and true God. I was purchased
with the price of Blood.
Nothing and no one can overcome me! I am healthy! I am free!
I am prosperous! I am joyful! I am a Child of the King! Thank You, Lord Jesus.
Amen.
Important Note:
How do I become a Child of God? How do I establish a relationship with the
Almighty?
Just say the following prayer
aloud, putting all your attention
and heart into what you are saying to God:
Lord Jesus, I believe that You are the Son of
God. That You came into this world, born
of the virgin Mary, to pay for all my sins, and I have
been a sinner. Therefore, today I say that I accept. I accept Your
sacrifice on the cross! I accept Your precious
Blood shed to the last drop out of love for me! I open my
heart to You and invite You in
because I want, Lord Jesus, that from today and
forever You be my only and sufficient Savior, my God,
my King, and my Lord. Thank
You, Almighty God, because with this simple prayer and profession of faith I have passed from death to Life, I have been transferred from darkness to Your
marvelous Light. Today I have been Born Again! God, now I am Your Child! Now
You are my Father! I will never be alone again! I will never live defeated
again. In the name of Jesus. Amen.
Three Recommendations:
What just happened by you recognizing Jesus Christ as the Lord and
Savior of your life, according
to God's Word, is that you have been Born Again. No longer
as an ordinary human being, subject to the law of sin and death, but now as a
legitimate and authentic Child of God, Born Again, exactly like Jesus Christ, who is now your Older Brother. Therefore,
I give you these three, very important, recommendations:
1.
Pray. Praying is talking with God. So, find a quiet
place where you can begin talking to Him about everything. Do it out loud, and you will notice
how God always responds to your heart.
2.
Read and meditate
on the Word of God. The Bible
is the Word of God, so
get a Bible and start reading and meditating on it. How do you begin? It’s very simple. Depending on the day,
look up the reading program “The
Bible in One Year” and do the corresponding readings. You can get this program at: Through The Bible In One Year (palabradehonor.org). You will notice
that the program is set up so you can print it as a booklet.
3.
In prayer with God, your Father, look for and join a
Christian church or congregation where the Word of God is taught based
on the Good News, which are
the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Revelation
20
And I saw an angel come down from heaven,
having the key of the bottomless pit and a great chain in
his hand.
2 And he laid hold on the dragon, that old serpent,
which is the Devil, and Satan, and bound him a thousand years,
3 And cast him into
the bottomless pit, and shut him up, and set a seal upon him, that he should deceive the nations no more, till the thousand
years should be fulfilled:
and after that he must be loosed a little season.
4 And I saw
thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgment was given unto them: and I saw the souls of them that were beheaded for the witness
of Jesus, and for the word of
God, and which had not worshipped the beast, neither his image, neither had
received his mark upon their foreheads, or in their hands; and they lived and
reigned with Christ a thousand years.
5 But the rest of the dead lived not again until the thousand
years were finished. This is
the first resurrection.
6 Blessed and holy
is he that hath part in the first resurrection: on such the second death hath no power, but they shall be priests
of God and of Christ,
and shall reign with him a thousand years.
7 And when the thousand
years are expired,
Satan shall be loosed out of his prison,
8 And shall go out to deceive
the nations which are in the four quarters of the
earth, Gog, and Magog, to gather them together to battle: the number of whom is
as the sand of the sea.
9 And they went up on the breadth of the earth,
and compassed the camp of the saints about, and the beloved city:
and fire came down from God out of heaven, and devoured them.
10 And the devil
that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet
are, and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever.
11 And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it, from whose face the
earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them.
12 And I saw the dead,
small and great, stand before God; and the books
were opened: and another
book was opened,
which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works.
13 And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them:
and they were judged every man according to their works.
14 And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death.
15 And whosoever
was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.
Isaiah
7 And it came to pass in the days of Ahaz the son of Jotham,
the son of Uzziah, king of
Judah, that Rezin the king of Syria,
and Pekah the son of Remaliah, king of Israel, went up toward Jerusalem to war
against it, but could not prevail against it.
2 And it was told the house of David, saying, Syria is confederate with Ephraim. And his heart was moved, and the heart of his people, as the trees of the wood
are moved with the wind.
3 Then said the LORD unto Isaiah,
Go forth now to meet Ahaz, thou, and
Shearjashub thy son, at the end of the conduit of the upper pool in the
highway of the fuller's field;
4 And say unto him, Take heed,
and be quiet; fear not, neither be fainthearted
for the two tails of these smoking
firebrands, for the fierce anger of Rezin with
Syria, and of the son of Remaliah.
5 Because Syria, Ephraim, and the son of Remaliah,
have taken evil counsel
against thee, saying,
6 Let us go up against Judah,
and vex it, and let us make a breach
therein for us, and set a king
in the midst of it, even the son of Tabeal:
7 Thus saith the Lord GOD, It shall not stand, neither
shall it come to pass.
8 For the head of Syria is Damascus, and the head of Damascus
is Rezin; and within threescore and five years shall
Ephraim be broken, that it be not a people.
9 And the head of Ephraim is Samaria, and the head of Samaria
is Remaliah's son. If ye will
not believe, surely ye shall not be established.
10 Moreover the LORD spake again unto Ahaz,
saying,
11 Ask thee a sign of the LORD thy God; ask it either in the depth,
or in the height above.
12 But Ahaz said, I will not ask, neither
will I tempt the LORD.
13 And he said, Hear ye now, O house
of David; Is it a small thing for you to
weary men, but will ye weary my God also?
14 Therefore the Lord himself
shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall
call his name Immanuel.
15 Butter and honey shall he eat, that he may know to refuse
the evil, and choose the good.
16 For before the child shall know to refuse the evil, and choose
the good, the land that thou abhorrest shall be
forsaken of both her kings.
17 The LORD shall bring upon thee, and upon thy people,
and upon thy father's
house, days that have not come, from the day that Ephraim departed from Judah;
even the king of Assyria.
18 And it shall come
to pass in that day, that the LORD shall hiss for the fly that is in the uttermost part of the rivers of Egypt, and for the bee that is in the land of Assyria.
19 And they shall come, and shall rest all of them in the desolate valleys,
and in the holes of the rocks,
and upon all thorns, and upon all bushes.
20 In the same day shall the Lord shave with a razor that is hired, namely, by them beyond the river, by the king of
Assyria, the head, and the hair of the feet: and it shall also consume the
beard.
21 And it shall come to pass in that day, that a man shall nourish
a young cow, and two sheep;
22 And it shall come
to pass, for the abundance of milk that they shall give he shall eat butter: for butter and honey shall every one eat that is left in the land.
23 And it shall come to pass in that day, that every place
shall be, where
there were a thousand vines at a thousand silverlings, it shall even be for briers and thorns.
24 With arrows and with bows shall men come thither; because
all the land shall become briers and thorns.
25 And on all hills that shall be digged
with the mattock,
there shall not come
thither the fear of briers and thorns: but it shall be for the sending forth of
oxen, and for the treading of lesser cattle.
8
Moreover
the LORD said unto me, Take thee a great roll, and write in it with a
man's pen concerning Mahershalalhashbaz.
2 And I took unto me faithful
witnesses to record,
Uriah the priest,
and Zechariah the son of Jeberechiah.
3 And I went unto the prophetess; and she conceived, and bare a son. Then said the LORD
to
me, Call his name Mahershalalhashbaz.
4 For before the
child shall have knowledge to cry, My father, and my mother, the riches
of Damascus and the spoil of Samaria
shall be taken
away before the king of Assyria.
5 The LORD spake also unto me again,
saying,
6 Forasmuch as this people
refuseth the waters
of Shiloah that go softly,
and rejoice in Rezin and Remaliah's son;
7 Now therefore,
behold, the Lord bringeth up upon them the waters of the river, strong and many, even the king of Assyria, and all his glory: and he shall come up over all his channels, and
go over all his banks:
8 And he shall pass
through Judah; he shall overflow and go over, he shall reach even to the neck; and the stretching out of his wings shall fill the breadth
of thy land, O Immanuel.
9 Associate yourselves, O ye people,
and ye shall be broken
in pieces; and give
ear, all ye of far countries: gird yourselves, and ye shall be broken in
pieces; gird yourselves, and ye shall be broken in pieces.
10 Take counsel
together, and it shall come to nought;
speak the word,
and it shall not stand: for
God is with us.
11 For the LORD spake thus to me with a strong
hand, and instructed me that I should not walk in the way of this
people, saying,
12 Say ye not, A confederacy, to all them to whom this people
shall say, A confederacy; neither fear ye their fear,
nor be afraid.
13 Sanctify the LORD of hosts himself;
and let him be your fear, and let him be
your dread.
14 And he shall be for a sanctuary; but for a stone of stumbling and for a rock
of offence to both the houses of Israel, for a gin and for a snare to the
inhabitants of Jerusalem.
15 And many among them shall stumble,
and fall, and be broken,
and be snared, and be taken.
16 Bind up the testimony, seal the law among my disciples.
17 And I will wait upon the LORD, that hideth his face from the house
of Jacob, and I will look for
him.
18 Behold, I and the children whom the
LORD hath given me are for signs and for wonders in Israel from the LORD of hosts, which dwelleth in mount Zion.
19 And when they shall say unto you, Seek unto them that have familiar spirits, and unto wizards that peep, and
that mutter: should not a people seek unto their God? for the living to the
dead?
20 To the law and to the testimony: if they speak not according to this word,
it is because there is no light in them.
21 And they shall pass through it, hardly bestead
and hungry: and it shall come
to pass, that when they shall be hungry, they shall fret themselves, and curse
their king and their God, and look upward.
22 And they shall look unto the earth; and behold trouble
and darkness, dimness of
anguish; and they shall be driven to darkness.
Psalm
110 The LORD said unto my Lord, Sit thou at my right hand,
until I make thine enemies thy
footstool.
2 The LORD shall send the rod of thy strength out of Zion: rule thou in the midst
of thine enemies.
3 Thy people
shall be willing
in the day of thy power, in the beauties
of holiness from the womb of
the morning: thou hast the dew of thy youth.
4 The LORD hath sworn, and will not repent,
Thou art a priest for ever after the
order of Melchizedek.
5 The Lord at thy right hand shall strike
through kings in the day of his wrath.
6 He shall judge among the heathen,
he shall fill the places with the dead
bodies; he shall wound the heads over many countries.
7 He shall drink of the brook
in the way: therefore shall he lift up the head.
