How NOT to Live in Error!
The Bible,
Word of Honor! By Riqui Ricón
Finally, brothers
and sisters, pray for us that the message of the Lord
may
spread rapidly and be honored, just as it was with you.
(2 Thessalonians 3:1, NIV)
The Bible IS the Word of God, and it is LIVING
and POWERFUL—able to bring
salvation into your life through Jesus Christ and to reveal to you the Master
Plan God has prepared for you.
In that day the deaf will hear the
words of the scroll, and out of gloom and darkness the eyes of the blind will see. Once more the humble
will rejoice in the
Lord; the needy will rejoice in the Holy One of Israel. (Isaiah
29:18–19, NIV)
When
the Truth is taught (and the Bible is the
Truth), the deaf hear the Word, and those who grope in darkness see the light—a light has dawned on those living in the
land of the shadow of death (Isaiah 9:2, NIV). Through the Gospel—the Good News of Jesus Christ—the humble grow in joy, and even the poorest of men rejoice in the Lord,
their Savior.
Then I would not be put to shame
when I consider all your commands... My soul
clings to the dust; preserve my life according to your word. (Psalm
119:6, 25, NIV)
Once, at a pastors’ conference, we were told
about our duty to read the Bible every day simply because we were pastors.
But they also said we shouldn’t put that same burden on other believers in our congregations, since they have jobs
and responsibilities that take so much of their time and energy.
Then some questions
came to my heart—questions that found their
full answer in the Scriptures:
Is the Bible
the Word of God? Of course!
All Scripture is inspired by God
and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in
our lives. It corrects us when we are wrong and teaches us to do what is right.
God uses it to prepare
and equip his people
to do every good work. (2 Timothy 3:16–17, NLT)
Is the Word of God the Truth, and therefore unable
to lie? Absolutely!
Make them holy by your truth;
teach them your word, which is truth.
(John 17:17, NLT)
If the Word of God is so important, should
only pastors and ministers read it
every day?
When the Lord says, “Keep this Book of the Law always
on your lips; meditate on it
day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then
you will be prosperous and successful.” (Joshua 1:8, NIV), doesn’t that
mean that success in your life
comes from reading, meditating on, and
acting upon the Bible every day—not from whatever profession or activity you
do?
Doesn’t God say in His Word that without
faith it is impossible to please Him,
and that faith
comes from hearing
His Word?
And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone
who comes to him must believe that he exists and
that he rewards those who earnestly seek him. (Hebrews
11:6, NIV)
So
then faith comes by hearing,
and hearing by the word of God. (Romans
10:17, KJV)
If the Bible contains all the protection,
healing, and prosperity you need, shouldn’t the Word of God be the highest
priority in your life? Or did Jesus redeem only pastors
and ministers with His blood,
and destined only them to be made kings and priests for God, to
reign upon the earth?
And they sang a new song, saying:
“You are worthy to take the scroll and to open its seals, because you were
slain, and with your blood you purchased for God persons from every tribe and
language and people and nation. You have made
them to be a kingdom
and priests to serve our God, and they will reign on the earth.” (Revelation
5:9–10, NIV)
Do you see it now? You have been called by
God to live a victorious life, exercising authority and dominion; you have been chosen by God to establish
His kingdom on the earth. And to fulfill this purpose, above all else, you have
the Bible—the Word of God.
The Bible is God’s Word of Honor;
it is the Truth, and it is living and powerful. It is a lamp to your feet and a light to
your path. It is the source of your freedom and the fulfillment of your
identity as a Son or Daughter of God, born again through Jesus Christ.
Jesus said, “If you continue
in my word, you are truly my disciples. Then you will know the truth, and the truth will
set you free.” (John 8:31–32, KJV)
Pay close attention, because no matter your
profession, nationality, social status, or education level, the most important
task for every Son or Daughter of God who has been born
again is, without a doubt, to read, meditate
on, and study the Bible every single
day. Only then will you make your way prosperous, and everything will turn out
well for you.
Let’s pray out loud:
Thank you, Lord, for the Bible—Your Word of
Honor! I know perfectly well that I can trust Your Word. You do
not lie or change Your mind about Your love for me or about all the good You
have declared over my life. You have said it, and You will do it; You have
spoken it, and You will bring it to pass in me. I choose to believe You and
receive the Truth in my life. I am who You say I am in the Bible: Your beloved
child, Your special treasure, a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy
nation. I am a people belonging to You, to proclaim the praises of the One who
called me out of darkness into His marvelous light. I am healed; I am free; I can do all things in You, Jesus
Christ. In all things, I am more than a conqueror through
Your love, for greater are You, Holy Spirit, who are in me and with me, than the one who is in
the world. A thousand may fall at my side and ten thousand at my right hand,
but it will not come near me. Even though I walk through the valley of the
shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for You are with me. And if You, my God
and Father, are with me—who can be against me? This is the Truth! It is
written! It is the Word of God! I can be happy! Thank You, Lord Jesus! Amen.

Important Note:
How do I become a Child of God? How do I establish a relationship with the
Almighty?
Just say the following prayer
aloud, putting all your attention
and heart into what you are saying to God:
Lord Jesus, I believe that You are the Son of
God. That You came into this world, born
of the virgin Mary, to pay for all my sins, and I have
been a sinner. Therefore, today I say that I accept. I accept Your
sacrifice on the cross! I accept Your precious
Blood shed to the last drop out of love for me! I open my
heart to You and invite You in
because I want, Lord Jesus, that from today and forever You be my only and sufficient Savior, my
God, my King, and my Lord.
Thank You, Almighty God, because with this
simple prayer and profession of faith I have passed from death to Life, I have been transferred from darkness
to Your marvelous Light. Today I have been Born Again! God, now I am Your
Child! Now You are my Father! I will never be alone again! I will never live
defeated again. In the name of Jesus. Amen.

Three Recommendations:
What just happened by you recognizing Jesus Christ as the Lord and
Savior of your life, according
to God's Word, is that you have been Born Again. No longer
as an ordinary human being, subject to the law of sin and death, but now as a
legitimate and authentic Child of God, Born Again, exactly like Jesus Christ, who is now your Older Brother. Therefore,
I give you these three, very important, recommendations:
1.
Pray. Praying is talking with God. So, find a quiet
place where you can begin talking to Him about everything. Do it out loud, and you will notice
how God always responds to your heart.
2.
Read and meditate
on the Word of God. The Bible
is the Word of God, so
get a Bible and start reading and meditating on it. How do you begin? It’s very simple. Depending on the day,
look up the reading program “The
Bible in One Year”
and do the corresponding readings. You can get this
program at: Through The Bible
In One Year (palabradehonor.org). You will notice that the program is set
up so you can print it as a booklet.
3.
In prayer with God, your Father, look for and join a
Christian church or congregation where the Word of God is taught based
on the Good News, which are
the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Reading and Meditation on the Word of God
Do these daily readings, and by the end of one year you will have read the
entire Bible.

2 Thessalonians
3 Finally, brethren, pray for us, that the word of the Lord may have free
course, and be glorified, even as it is with you:
2 And that we may be delivered from unreasonable and wicked men: for all men have not faith.
3 But the Lord is faithful, who shall stablish
you, and keep you from
evil.
4 And we have confidence in the Lord touching you, that ye both do and will do
the things which we command you.
5 And the Lord direct
your hearts into the love of God, and into the patient waiting for Christ.
6 Now we command you, brethren, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that ye withdraw yourselves from every
brother that walketh disorderly, and not after the tradition which he received
of us.
7 For yourselves know how ye ought to follow us: for we behaved not ourselves disorderly among you;
8 Neither did we eat any man's bread for nought; but wrought with labour and travail night and day, that we might
not be chargeable to any of you:
9 Not because
we have not power, but to make ourselves an ensample unto you to follow us.
10 For even when we were with you, this we commanded you, that if any
would not work, neither should he eat.
11 For we hear that there are some which walk among you disorderly, working not at all, but are busybodies.
12 Now them that are such we command and exhort by our Lord Jesus Christ, that with quietness they work,
and eat their own bread.
13 But ye, brethren, be not weary in well doing.
14 And if any man obey not our word by this epistle, note that man, and have no company with him, that he may be
ashamed.
15
Yet count him not as an enemy, but admonish
him as a brother.
16 Now the Lord of peace himself
give you peace
always by all means. The Lord
be with you all.
17 The salutation of Paul with mine own hand, which is the token in every
epistle: so I write.
18 The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen.

29
Woe to Ariel,
to Ariel, the city where
David dwelt! add ye year to year;
let them kill sacrifices.
2 Yet I will distress
Ariel, and there shall be heaviness and sorrow: and it shall be unto me as Ariel.
3 And I will camp against thee round about, and will lay siege
against thee with a mount, and I will raise forts
against thee.
4 And thou shalt be brought down, and shalt speak out of the ground, and thy
speech shall be low out of the
dust, and thy voice shall be, as of one that hath
a familiar spirit, out of the ground, and thy speech shall whisper out of the dust.
5 Moreover the
multitude of thy strangers shall be like small dust, and the multitude of the terrible
ones shall be as chaff that passeth
away: yea, it shall
be at an instant suddenly.
6 Thou shalt be visited
of the LORD of hosts with thunder, and with earthquake, and great noise, with storm
and tempest, and the flame of devouring fire.
7 And the multitude of all the nations that fight against
Ariel, even all that fight against her and her munition, and
that distress her, shall be as a dream of a night vision.
8 It shall even be
as when an hungry man dreameth, and, behold, he eateth; but he awaketh, and his
soul is empty: or as when a thirsty man dreameth, and, behold, he drinketh; but he awaketh,
and, behold, he is faint,
and his soul hath appetite: so shall the
multitude of all the nations be, that fight against mount Zion.
9 Stay yourselves, and wonder; cry ye out, and cry: they are drunken, but not
with wine; they stagger, but not with strong drink.
10 For the LORD hath poured out upon you the spirit of deep sleep, and hath
closed your eyes: the prophets and your rulers, the seers hath he covered.
11 And the vision of
all is become unto you as the words of a book that is sealed, which men deliver
to one that is learned,
saying, Read this, I pray thee:
and he saith, I cannot; for it is sealed:
12 And the book is delivered to him that is not learned, saying,
Read this, I pray
thee: and he saith, I am not learned.
13 Wherefore the Lord said, Forasmuch as this people
draw near me with their mouth, and with their lips do honour
me, but have removed their heart far from me, and their fear toward me is
taught by the precept of men:
14 Therefore,
behold, I will proceed to do a marvellous work among this people, even a marvellous work and a wonder: for the wisdom
of their wise men shall perish, and the
understanding of their prudent men shall be hid.
15 Woe unto them
that seek deep to hide their counsel from the LORD, and their works
are in the dark, and they say, Who seeth us? and who knoweth
us?
16 Surely your turning of things upside
down shall be esteemed as the potter's clay: for shall the work say of
him that made it, He made me not? or shall the thing framed say of him that
framed it, He had no understanding?
17 Is it not yet a very little while, and Lebanon
shall be turned
into a fruitful field, and the fruitful field shall be esteemed as a
forest?
18 And in that day shall the deaf hear the words of the book, and the eyes of
the blind shall see out of obscurity, and out of darkness.
19 The meek also shall increase their joy in the
LORD, and the poor among men
shall rejoice in the Holy One of Israel.
20 For the terrible one is brought
to nought, and the scorner
is consumed, and all that watch for iniquity are cut
off:
21 That make a man an offender
for a word, and lay a snare for him that
reproveth in the gate, and turn aside the just for a thing of nought.
22 Therefore thus saith the LORD, who redeemed Abraham, concerning the house of Jacob,
Jacob shall not now be ashamed, neither
shall his face now
wax pale.
23 But when he seeth
his children, the work of mine hands, in the midst of him, they shall sanctify
my name, and sanctify the Holy One of Jacob,
and shall fear the God of
Israel.
24 They also that erred in spirit shall come to understanding, and they that murmured shall learn doctrine.
30 Woe to the rebellious children, saith the LORD, that take counsel, but not of me; and that cover with a covering, but
not of my spirit, that they may add sin to sin:
2 That walk to go
down into Egypt, and have not asked at my mouth; to strengthen themselves in the strength
of Pharaoh, and to trust
in the shadow of Egypt!
3 Therefore shall the strength
of Pharaoh be your shame, and the trust in the
shadow of Egypt your confusion.
4 For his princes were at Zoan, and his ambassadors came to Hanes.
5 They were all ashamed
of a people that could not profit them, nor be an help
nor profit, but a shame, and also a reproach.
6 The burden of the beasts of the south: into the land of trouble and anguish,
from whence come the young and old lion, the viper and fiery flying serpent,
they will carry their riches upon the shoulders of young asses, and
their treasures upon the bunches of camels, to a people that shall not profit them.
7 For the Egyptians shall help in vain, and to no purpose: therefore
have I cried concerning this, Their strength is to sit still.
8 Now go, write it before them in a table, and note it in a book, that it may be
for the time to come for ever and ever:
9 That this is a rebellious people,
lying children, children
that will not hear the law of the LORD:
10 Which say to the seers, See not; and to the prophets, Prophesy
not unto us right things, speak unto us smooth
things, prophesy deceits:
11 Get you out of the way, turn aside
out of the path, cause the Holy One of Israel to cease from before us.
12 Wherefore thus saith the Holy One of Israel,
Because ye despise
this word, and trust in
oppression and perverseness, and stay thereon:
13 Therefore this iniquity shall be to you as a breach ready to fall, swelling
out in a high wall, whose breaking cometh suddenly at an instant.
14 And he shall
break it as the breaking of the potters'
vessel that is broken in pieces; he shall not spare: so that there shall not be found in the bursting of it
a sherd to take fire from the hearth, or to take water withal out of the pit.
15 For thus saith
the Lord GOD, the Holy One of Israel; In returning and
rest shall ye be saved; in quietness and in confidence shall be your strength: and ye
would not.
16 But ye said, No; for we will flee upon horses;
therefore shall ye flee: and, We will ride upon the swift;
therefore shall they that pursue you be swift.
17 One thousand
shall flee at the rebuke of one; at the rebuke of five shall ye flee: till ye be left as a beacon upon the top of a mountain, and as an ensign on an hill.
18 And therefore
will the LORD wait, that he may be gracious unto you, and
therefore will he be exalted,
that he may have mercy upon you: for the LORD is a God of
judgment: blessed are all they that wait for him.
19 For the people
shall dwell in Zion at Jerusalem: thou shalt weep no more: he will be very gracious unto thee at the voice
of thy cry; when he shall hear it,
he will answer thee.
20 And though the
Lord give you the bread of adversity, and the water of affliction, yet shall not thy teachers
be removed into a corner any more,
but thine eyes shall see thy teachers:
21 And thine ears shall hear a word behind
thee, saying, This is the way, walk ye in it, when ye turn to the right
hand, and when ye turn to the left.
22 Ye shall defile also the covering
of thy graven images of silver, and the
ornament of thy molten images of gold: thou shalt cast them away as a
menstruous cloth; thou shalt say unto it, Get thee hence.
23 Then shall he
give the rain of thy seed, that thou shalt sow the ground withal; and bread of the increase
of the earth, and it shall be fat and plenteous:
in that day shall thy cattle feed in large pastures.
24 The oxen likewise and the young asses that ear the ground shall eat clean provender, which hath been winnowed
with the shovel and with the fan.
25 And there shall
be upon every high mountain, and upon every high hill, rivers and streams of waters in the day of the great slaughter, when the towers fall.
26 Moreover the light of the moon shall be as the light of the sun, and the light
of the sun shall be sevenfold, as the light of seven days, in the day that the
LORD bindeth up the breach of his people, and healeth the
stroke of their wound.
27 Behold, the name of the LORD cometh from far, burning
with his anger, and the burden thereof is heavy: his lips are full of indignation, and his tongue as a devouring fire:
28 And his breath,
as an overflowing stream, shall reach to the midst of the neck, to sift the nations with the sieve of vanity:
and there shall be a bridle in the jaws of the people, causing them to
err.
29 Ye shall have a
song, as in the night when a holy solemnity is kept; and gladness of heart, as when one goeth with a pipe to come into the mountain of the LORD, to the mighty
One of Israel.
30 And the LORD shall cause his glorious voice to be heard, and shall shew the lighting down of his arm, with the indignation of his anger,
and with the flame
of a devouring fire, with scattering, and tempest, and hailstones.
31 For through
the voice of the LORD shall the Assyrian be beaten down, which
smote with a rod.
32 And in every place where the grounded staff shall pass, which the LORD shall lay upon
him, it shall be with tabrets and harps: and in battles of shaking will he
fight with it.
33 For Tophet
is ordained of old; yea, for the king it is prepared;
he hath made it deep and large: the pile thereof
is fire and much wood; the breath of the LORD, like a stream
of brimstone, doth kindle it.
Psalm
119 Blessed are the undefiled in the way, who walk in the law of the LORD.
2 Blessed are they that keep his testimonies, and that seek him with the whole heart.
3 They also do no iniquity: they walk in his ways.
4 Thou hast commanded us to keep thy precepts
diligently.
5 O that my ways were directed
to keep thy statutes!
6 Then shall I not be ashamed,
when I have respect unto all thy commandments.
7 I will praise thee with uprightness of heart, when I shall have learned

8 I will keep thy statutes: O forsake me not utterly.
9 Wherewithal shall

10 With my whole heart have I sought thee: O let me not wander from thy

11 Thy word have I hid in mine heart,
that I might not sin against thee.
12 Blessed art thou, O LORD: teach me thy statutes.
13 With my lips have I declared

14 I have rejoiced in the way of thy testimonies, as much as in all riches.
15 I will meditate in thy precepts, and have respect
unto thy ways.
16 I will delight myself
in thy statutes: I will not forget
thy word.
17 Deal bountifully with thy servant,
that I may live, and keep thy

18 Open thou mine eyes, that I may behold
wondrous things out of thy law.
19 I am a stranger

that it hath unto thy judgments at all
times.
21 Thou hast rebuked the proud that are cursed,
which do err from thy commandments.
22 Remove from me reproach
and contempt; for I have kept thy testimonies.
23 Princes also did sit and speak against me: but thy servant did meditate in thy statutes.
24 Thy testimonies also are my delight and my counselors.
25 My soul cleaveth unto the dust: quicken thou me according
to thy word.
26 I have declared my ways, and thou heardest
me: teach me thy statutes.
27 Make me to understand the way of thy precepts:
so shall I talk of thy
wondrous works.
28 My soul melteth for heaviness: strengthen thou me according unto thy word.
29 Remove from me the way of lying: and grant me thy law
graciously.
30 I have chosen the way of truth: thy judgments have I laid before me.
31 I have stuck unto thy testimonies: O LORD, put me not to shame.

6 Now we command you, brethren, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that ye withdraw yourselves from every
brother that walketh disorderly, and not after the tradition which he received
of us.
7 For yourselves know how ye ought to follow us: for we behaved not ourselves disorderly among you;
8 Neither did we eat any man's bread for nought; but wrought with labour and travail night and day, that we might
not be chargeable to any of you:
Amen.
Isaiah
29
Woe to Ariel,
to Ariel, the city where
David dwelt! add ye year to year;
let them kill sacrifices.
15 For thus saith
the Lord GOD, the Holy One of Israel; In returning and
rest shall ye be saved; in quietness and in confidence shall be your strength: and ye
would not.
16 But ye said, No; for we will flee upon horses;
therefore shall ye flee: and, We will ride upon the swift;
therefore shall they that pursue you be swift.
33 For Tophet
is ordained of old; yea, for the king it is prepared;
he hath made it deep and large: the pile thereof
is fire and much wood; the breath of the LORD, like a stream
of brimstone, doth kindle it.
7 I will praise thee with uprightness of heart, when I shall have learned
thy righteous judgments.
8 I will keep thy statutes: O forsake me not utterly.
9 Wherewithal shall
a young man cleanse his way? by taking heed thereto
according to thy word.
10 With my whole heart have I sought thee: O let me not wander from thy
commandments.
11 Thy word have I hid in mine heart,
that I might not sin against thee.
12 Blessed art thou, O LORD: teach me thy statutes.
13 With my lips have I declared
all the judgments of thy mouth.
14 I have rejoiced in the way of thy testimonies, as much as in all riches.
15 I will meditate in thy precepts, and have respect
unto thy ways.
16 I will delight myself
in thy statutes: I will not forget
thy word.
17 Deal bountifully with thy servant,
that I may live, and keep thy
word.
18 Open thou mine eyes, that I may behold
wondrous things out of thy law.
19 I am a stranger
in the earth: hide not thy commandments from me.
20 My soul breaketh for the longing
that it hath unto thy judgments at all
times.
21 Thou hast rebuked the proud that are cursed,
which do err from thy commandments.
22 Remove from me reproach
and contempt; for I have kept thy testimonies.
23 Princes also did sit and speak against me: but thy servant did meditate in thy statutes.

to thy word.

graciously.
30 I have chosen the way of truth: thy judgments have I laid before me.
31 I have stuck unto thy testimonies: O LORD, put me not to shame.
32 I will run the way of thy commandments, when thou shalt enlarge my heart.
