How to Get Good Insurance
God Says So!
By Riqui Ricón*
Blessed is the man who fears the
Lord, who greatly delights in his commandments… He will not be afraid of bad
news; his heart is steadfast, trusting in the Lord. His heart is secure; he will not fear
(Psalm 112:1, 7–8a).
Did you know that the first sin—original sin in the garden—was not
disobedience? That’s right:
the first sin was unbelief
in the Word of God.
Now the serpent was more crafty
than any beast of the field which the Lord God had made. And he said to the
woman, Has God indeed said, You shall not eat of every tree of the garden? And
the woman said to the serpent, We may eat of the fruit of the trees of the garden: but of the fruit of the tree which is in
the midst of the garden, God has said, You shall not eat of it, neither shall
you touch it, lest you die. Then the serpent said to the woman, You shall not surely die; for God knows
that in the day you eat
of it, your eyes shall
be opened, and you shall be as gods, knowing good and
evil (Genesis 3:1–5, KJV).
Pay close attention: at Satan’s first attempt to deceive—“Has God really said you can’t eat from any tree in the garden?”—the woman answered correctly. But at the second lie, she gave
in to doubt. I can picture her thinking, “Who’s telling the truth—this strange
talking creature or God who created me?” And they chose to BELIEVE the
devil, which made the Lord out to be a liar.
From that day until now, humanity’s dilemma
(and sometimes even that of God’s children) has always been the
same: Who am I going to believe? The devil and his lies—or the Word of God?
And they heard the voice of the
Lord God walking in the garden in the cool of the day: and Adam and his wife
hid themselves from the presence of the Lord God among the trees of the garden. And the Lord
God called to Adam, and said
to him, Where are you? And he said, I heard your voice in the garden,
and I was afraid because I was naked, and I hid myself (Genesis
3:8–10, KJV).
When you listen to a lie, you’ll
eventually believe it, and fear will automatically
enter your life.
And with fear comes doubt,
which gives birth
to disobedience.
For you did not receive the spirit of bondage again
to fear, but you received
the
Spirit of adoption, by whom we cry, “Abba,
Father” (Romans 8:15, KJV).
However, the Bible — God’s Word that never
lies — clearly teaches that the Children of God who are born again
can and should
live their lives without fear or doubt. You have not received a
spirit of slavery to live in fear again, but you have received the Spirit
of ADOPTION, by which you can call God, “Abba, Father, Daddy.”
Look at how much our Father loves us, calling
us His children — and that is
exactly what we are! But the people
of this world don’t recognize
that we are God’s children, because they do not
know Him (1 John 3:1, NLT).
The wonderful thing about God’s love is that
by making you His child through the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ,
God Himself places
you in a position of mutual
intimacy and trust. Now He is your true Father: you can trust Him!
You can believe
His Word!
For God so loved the world that He
gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should
not perish but have everlasting life. For God did not send
His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him
might be saved (John 3:16–17, KJV).
Isn’t that amazing?
God, the Creator
of heaven and earth, of all things
visible
and invisible, loves
you so much that He gave His own Son rather than lose you
— all so you could have a Father–child relationship and call Him, “Dad, Daddy,”
with closeness and familiarity.
Will a woman forget her nursing child,
and not have compassion on the son of her
womb? Surely they may forget,
yet I will not forget you (Isaiah 49:15,
KJV).
So, God your Father has not left you
— and will not leave you — in the hands
of illness, fear, violence, failure, or any other calamity. You are His child!
Though my father and my mother forsake me, yet the Lord will take me up
(Psalm 27:10, KJV).
When Jairus received
the news of his daughter’s death, it was very likely that
he lost all hope. Yet Jesus told him, “Jairus, DO NOT FEAR, you only need to BELIEVE.”
Then a man named Jairus, a ruler of
the synagogue, came and fell down at Jesus’ feet, and begged Him to come into
his house, because he had an only daughter, about twelve years old, and she was
dying. As He went, the multitude thronged Him. And a certain woman,
who had a flow of blood twelve years, came behind Him and touched
the hem of His garment. While He was
still speaking, someone
came from the ruler of the synagogue’s house, saying to
him, “Your daughter is dead; do not trouble the Teacher.” But when Jesus heard
it, He answered him, “Do not fear; only believe, and she will be made well” (Luke
8:41–42, 49–50, KJV).
And, as you know, Jesus raised the little
girl from the dead.
So, no matter the problems,
illnesses, or hardships you are facing today, if you
choose to BELIEVE God — BELIEVE His Word — you can live a life that is
steadfast and confident. Your heart is secure, and you will not fear bad news.
God says so! And if God says it, He will fulfill
it; if God spoke it, He will carry it out.
Behold, God is my salvation; I will trust,
and not be afraid: for the Lord Jehovah
is my strength and my song; He also is become my salvation (Isaiah
12:2, KJV).
So, the key to life is this: to obey God, you must first believe
Him. Believe Him by trusting His Word! That is, BELIEVE that God loves you so
much that He has given His word of honor that all will go well in your life, because His will for you
is good, pleasing, and perfect.
Lord of hosts, blessed
is the man who trusts in You (Psalm 84:12, KJV).
Let’s pray out loud:
Beloved Heavenly Father, how wonderful it is
to start another day knowing that You love me, and that I can live today with confidence because
my heart is secured by Your Word of Honor. You have
spoken it, and You will fulfill it; You have said it, and You will carry it
out. So, Holy Spirit, You and I stand firm
against any circumstance, illness, or
adversity, and we resist them. I am healthy, I am free. I can do all things
through Christ who strengthens me. In all things, I am more than a conqueror
through Him who loves me, Christ Jesus, my King, Lord, and Savior. No demon, no
illness, no problem has power over the Word of God, and it declares that I am a
Child of God, born again — not of corruptible seed, but incorruptible, through
the living and enduring Word of God. I belong
to Christ! I have already
overcome! For greater is He who is in me
than he who is in the world. I will not fear bad news! Confidently, my heart is
secure. Lord Jesus, I can be truly happy, a thousand times joyful, because I trust in You. Amen.
Important Note:
How do I become a Child of God? How do I establish a relationship with the
Almighty?
Just say the following prayer
aloud, putting all your attention
and heart into what you are saying to God:
Lord Jesus, I believe that You are the Son of
God. That You came into this world, born
of the virgin Mary, to pay for all my sins, and I have
been a sinner. Therefore, today I say that I accept. I accept Your
sacrifice on the cross! I accept Your precious
Blood shed to the last drop out of love for me! I open my
heart to You and invite You in
because I want, Lord Jesus, that from today and forever You be my only and sufficient Savior, my
God, my King, and my Lord.
Thank You, Almighty God, because with this
simple prayer and profession of faith I have passed from death to Life, I have been transferred from darkness
to Your marvelous Light. Today I have been Born Again! God, now I am Your
Child! Now You are my Father! I will never be alone again! I will never live
defeated again. In the name of Jesus. Amen.
Three Recommendations:
What just happened by you recognizing Jesus Christ as the Lord and
Savior of your life, according
to God's Word, is that you have been Born Again. No longer
as an ordinary human being, subject to the law of sin and death, but now as a
legitimate and authentic Child of God, Born Again, exactly like Jesus Christ, who is now your Older Brother. Therefore,
I give you these three, very important, recommendations:
1.
Pray. Praying is talking with God. So, find a quiet
place where you can begin talking to Him about everything. Do it out loud, and you will notice
how God always responds to your heart.
2.
Read and meditate
on the Word of God. The Bible
is the Word of God, so
get a Bible and start reading and meditating on it. How do you begin? It’s very simple. Depending on the day,
look up the reading program “The
Bible in One Year” and do the corresponding readings. You can get this program at: Through The Bible In One Year (palabradehonor.org). You will notice
that the program is set up so you can print it as a booklet.
3.
In prayer with God, your Father, look for and join a
Christian church or congregation where the Word of God is taught based
on the Good News, which are
the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

October 22 1 Thessalonians 1 / Isaiah 11-13 / Psalm 112
1 Thessalonians
1 Paul, and
Silvanus, and Timotheus, unto the church of the Thessalonians which is in God the Father and in the Lord Jesus Christ:
Grace be unto you, and peace, from God our Father, and the
Lord Jesus Christ.
2 We give thanks to God always for you all, making mention of you in our
prayers;
3 Remembering
without ceasing your work of faith, and labour of love, and patience of hope in our Lord Jesus Christ,
in the sight of God and our Father;
4 Knowing, brethren
beloved, your election
of God.
5 For our gospel came not unto you in word only, but also in power,
and in the Holy Ghost, and
in much assurance; as ye know
what manner of men we were among
you for your sake.
6 And ye became followers
of us, and of the Lord, having received the word in much affliction, with joy of the Holy
Ghost.
7 So that ye were ensamples to all that believe in Macedonia and
Achaia.
8 For from you
sounded out the word of the Lord not only in Macedonia and Achaia, but also in every place your faith to God-ward
is spread abroad;
so that we need not to speak
any thing.
9 For they themselves shew of us what manner of entering
in we had unto you, and how ye turned to God from idols
to serve the living and true God;
10 And to wait for his Son from heaven,
whom he raised from the dead, even Jesus, which delivered us from the
wrath to come.
Isaiah
11 And there shall come forth a rod out of the stem of Jesse, and a Branch shall grow out of his roots:
2 And the spirit of
the LORD shall rest upon him, the spirit of wisdom and
understanding, the spirit
of counsel and might, the spirit of knowledge and of
the fear of the LORD;
3 And shall make
him of quick understanding in the fear of the LORD: and he shall not judge after the sight of his eyes, neither
reprove after the hearing of his ears:
4 But with
righteousness shall he judge the poor, and reprove with equity for the meek of the earth: and he shall
smite the earth:
with the rod of his mouth,
and with the breath of his lips shall he slay the wicked.
5 And righteousness shall be the girdle of his loins,
and faithfulness the girdle
of his reins.
6 The wolf also shall
dwell with the lamb, and the leopard
shall lie down with
the kid; and the calf and the young lion and the fatling together; and a little
child shall lead them.
7 And the cow and the bear shall feed; their young ones shall
lie down together: and the
lion shall eat straw like the ox.
8 And the sucking child shall play on the hole of the asp, and the weaned child shall put his hand on the
cockatrice' den.
9 They shall not hurt nor destroy
in all my holy mountain: for the earth shall be full of the knowledge of the LORD, as the waters cover the sea.
10 And in that day there shall be a root of Jesse, which shall stand for an ensign
of the people; to it shall the Gentiles seek: and his rest shall be glorious.
11 And it shall come
to pass in that day, that the Lord shall set his hand again the second
time to recover the remnant
of his people, which shall be left, from
Assyria, and from Egypt, and from Pathros,
and from Cush, and from Elam, and from Shinar, and from Hamath, and from
the islands of the sea.
12 And he shall set
up an ensign for the nations, and shall assemble the outcasts of Israel, and gather together
the dispersed of Judah from the four corners of the earth.
13 The envy also of Ephraim shall depart, and the adversaries of Judah shall be
cut off: Ephraim shall not envy Judah, and Judah shall not vex Ephraim.
14 But they shall
fly upon the shoulders of the Philistines toward the west; they shall spoil them of the east together:
they shall lay their hand upon Edom and Moab; and the children of Ammon
shall obey them.
15 And the LORD shall utterly destroy
the tongue of the Egyptian
sea; and with his
mighty wind shall he shake his hand over the river, and shall smite it in the
seven streams, and make men go over dryshod.
16 And there shall be an highway
for the remnant of his people, which shall be left, from Assyria; like as it was to
Israel in the day that he came up out of the land of Egypt.
12 And in that day thou shalt say, O LORD, I will praise thee: though thou wast angry with me, thine anger is turned
away, and thou comfortedst me.
2 Behold, God is my salvation; I will trust, and not be afraid:
for the LORD JEHOVAH is my strength and my song;
he also is become my salvation.
3
Therefore with joy shall ye draw water out of the wells
of salvation.
4 And in that day shall ye say, Praise
the LORD, call upon his name, declare
his doings among the people, make mention that his name is exalted.
5 Sing unto the LORD; for he hath done excellent
things: this is known in all the earth.
6 Cry out and shout,
thou inhabitant of Zion: for great is the Holy One of Israel
in the midst of thee.
13 The burden
of Babylon, which
Isaiah the son of Amoz did see.
2 Lift ye up a banner upon the high mountain, exalt the voice unto them, shake
the hand, that they may go into the gates of the nobles.
3 I have commanded my sanctified ones, I have also called
my mighty ones for
mine anger, even them that rejoice in my highness.
4 The noise of a
multitude in the mountains, like as of a great people; a tumultuous noise of the kingdoms of nations gathered
together: the LORD of hosts mustereth the host of the battle.
5 They come from a far country,
from the end of heaven,
even the LORD, and the weapons of his
indignation, to destroy the whole land.
6 Howl ye; for the day of the LORD is at hand; it shall come as a destruction
from the Almighty.
7
Therefore shall all hands be faint, and every man's heart shall melt:
8 And they shall be afraid: pangs and sorrows
shall take hold of them; they
shall be in pain as a woman that travaileth: they shall be amazed one at
another; their faces shall be as flames.
9 Behold, the day of the LORD cometh, cruel both with wrath and fierce anger, to lay the land desolate: and he
shall destroy the sinners thereof out of it.
10 For the stars of
heaven and the constellations thereof shall not give their light: the sun shall be darkened
in his going forth, and the moon shall not cause
her light to shine.
11 And I will punish
the world for their evil, and the wicked for their iniquity; and I will cause the arrogancy
of the proud to cease, and will lay low the haughtiness of the terrible.
12 I will make a man more precious than fine gold; even a man than the golden wedge of Ophir.
13 Therefore I will shake the heavens,
and the earth shall remove
out of her place, in the wrath of the LORD of hosts, and in
the day of his fierce anger.
14 And it shall be
as the chased roe, and as a sheep that no man taketh up: they shall every man turn to his own people, and flee every
one into his own
land.
15 Every one that is found shall be thrust
through; and every one that is joined unto them shall fall by the sword.
16 Their children
also shall be dashed to pieces before their eyes; their houses shall be spoiled, and their wives
ravished.
17 Behold, I will stir up the Medes against
them, which shall not regard
silver; and as for gold, they shall not delight in it.
18 Their bows also shall dash the young men to pieces;
and they shall
have no pity on the fruit of
the womb; their eyes shall not spare children.
19 And Babylon,
the glory of kingdoms, the beauty of the Chaldees' excellency, shall be as when God overthrew Sodom and Gomorrah.
20 It shall never be inhabited, neither
shall it be dwelt in from generation to generation: neither shall the Arabian pitch tent there;
neither shall the shepherds make their fold there.
21 But wild beasts of the desert
shall lie there;
and their houses
shall be full of
doleful creatures; and owls shall dwell there, and satyrs shall dance there.
22 And the wild
beasts of the islands shall cry in their desolate houses, and dragons in their pleasant
palaces: and her time is near to come, and her days shall not be prolonged.
Psalm
112 Praise ye the LORD. Blessed
is the man that feareth
the LORD, that
delighteth greatly in his commandments.
2 His seed shall be mighty upon earth: the generation of the upright
shall be blessed.

lie down together: and the
lion shall eat straw like the ox.
2 Behold, God is my salvation; I will trust, and not be afraid:
for the LORD JEHOVAH is my strength and my song;
he also is become my salvation.
18 Their bows also shall dash the young men to pieces;
and they shall
have no pity on the fruit of
the womb; their eyes shall not spare children.
19 And Babylon,
the glory of kingdoms, the beauty of the Chaldees' excellency, shall be as when God overthrew Sodom and Gomorrah.
20 It shall never be inhabited, neither
shall it be dwelt in from generation to generation: neither shall the Arabian pitch tent there;
neither shall the shepherds make their fold there.
21 But wild beasts of the desert
shall lie there;
and their houses
shall be full of
doleful creatures; and owls shall dwell there, and satyrs shall dance there.
3 Wealth and riches shall be in his house: and his righteousness endureth
for ever.
4 Unto the upright there ariseth light in the darkness: he is gracious,
and full of compassion, and righteous.
5 A good man sheweth
favour, and lendeth:
he will guide his affairs
with discretion.
6 Surely he shall not be moved
for ever: the righteous shall be in everlasting
remembrance.
7 He shall not be afraid of evil tidings:
his heart is fixed, trusting
in the LORD.
8 His heart is established, he shall not be afraid,
until he see his desire
upon his enemies.
9 He hath dispersed, he hath given
to the poor; his righteousness endureth for ever;
his horn shall be exalted with honour.
10 The wicked shall see it, and be grieved;
he shall gnash with his teeth, and melt away: the desire of the wicked
shall perish.
