How to Face Your Enemies
Defeated and Under My Feet
By Riqui Ricón*
Then his wise men and his wife
Zeresh said to him, “Since Mordecai, before whom you have begun to fall,
is of Jewish descent, you will not overcome him but will surely fall before him.” (Esther
6:13, KJV)
This is amazing!
God has already spoken words of blessing
over your life,
and even your enemies recognize that they can’t defeat you — they will
end up falling before you!
The advisors who counseled Haman,
along with his wife Zeresh,
knew very well about the protection covering the
Jewish people. Just like Balaam,
hundreds of years earlier, they
understood that:
God is not a man, that he should
lie; neither the son of man, that he should repent. Has he said, and will he
not do it? Or has he spoken, and will he not make it good? Look, I have received a command to bless; he has blessed,
and I cannot reverse it. (Numbers
23:19–20, KJV)
Since God Himself had promised it, the
people of Israel—under the terms of the Old
Covenant—could be confident in the
protection, provision, and health
that came with God’s blessing over their lives. And if that was true back then,
how much more confidence can you have now that you’ve been raised to the
position of a Son or Daughter of God, born again through
the New Covenant— a covenant built on better
promises?
Little children, you are from God and have overcome them;
because He who is
in you is greater than he who is in the world. (1 John
4:4, KJV)
Whatever situation or problem you’re facing right now, you can be sure you’re
going to get through it. The victory
that only He can give is already
yours,
because you belong
to God and you’ve already
overcome.
Greater is He who is in you than he who is in the world!
For you are the temple of the living God, as God has said: “I will live in
them and walk among them; I will be their God, and they will be my people…
I will receive you, and I
will be a Father to you, and you will be my sons and daughters,” says the Lord
Almighty. (2 Corinthians 6:16, 18, KJV)
There’s no room for doubt—no other interpretation fits! According to the
Bible, which is God’s Word and does not lie, God lives in you. The Almighty, the One who can do everything,
has declared Himself your Father
and calls you His child.
Look at how great the love is that the Father
has shown us—He made it
possible for us to be called children
of God! And that’s exactly
what we are. The
people of the world don’t recognize us because they don’t know God. (1
John 3:1, PDT)
All because of love—because of His love for you! God loves you so much that He chose to give up His own Son
rather than lose you.
For God so loved the world, that he
gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. For God did not send
His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him
might be saved. (John 3:16–17, KJV)
Now God is your Father,
and you need to learn
to see yourself as His beloved
son or daughter, and to see Him as your one loving Father.
For you did not receive the spirit
of slavery to fall back into fear, but you received the Spirit of adoption, by whom we cry out, “Abba, Father!” (Romans
8:15, KJV)
“Abba” was a word only Jewish children used
to affectionately address their fathers—it’s the equivalent of “Daddy” or
“Papa” in our language. And it’s because of this relationship of trust and mutual love that you now have with
God that He encourages you to reject the spirit
of slavery and fear. You are a true child of God, and now you can
confidently say, “Dad, my Father!”
Which one of you, if his son asks him for bread, will give him a stone?
Or if he asks for a fish, will give him a snake? So if you, being
evil, know how to give
good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give good things to those who ask Him? (Matthew
7:9–11, KJV)
Haman, the wicked man, did fall before Mordecai
and the Jewish people,
because they were God’s chosen people. And if the New
Covenant is a better covenant, then it’s obvious that you have even better
promises than they did,
because you are a beloved son or daughter of Almighty God.
Now, the Bible says that when you ask, you must ask with faith,
without doubting.
So don’t
doubt that God loves you. He loves you so much that He chose to pay
for your sins with the life of His Son, Jesus, rather
than lose you.
Don’t doubt that now, in Christ Jesus, you
are a child of God—born again; created completely new by God. The old things are gone—look, He has made ALL things new.
Therefore, if anyone is in Christ,
he is a new creature; old things have passed
away; look, all things have become new. (2
Corinthians 5:17, KJV)
Don’t doubt that He has already spoken
words of love and blessing
over your life. Because of
that, you can do all things through Christ who gives you strength, and in every
problem, worry, or sickness, you are more than a conqueror through the One who
loved you—Christ Jesus.
But you are a chosen race, a royal
priesthood, a holy nation, a people acquired by God, so that you may declare
the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His wonderful light. Once you were not a people,
but now you are
the people of God; once you had not received mercy, but now you have received
mercy. (1 Peter 2:9–10, NIV)
Don’t doubt that you are of God’s lineage, and that just like Mordecai, every enemy, sickness, problem, or circumstance that comes
against you will not defeat you—instead, it will surely fall before you.
Let us pray aloud:
Beloved Heavenly Father, Your Word, the
Bible, which does not lie, clearly teaches me that I am Your child, that You
love me, and that I have already overcome, because He who is in me is greater
than anything in the world— you, my Father,
the Almighty. Therefore, I declare that every sickness, financial problem, family issue, or emotional struggle is
already defeated and under my feet. They will not defeat me; instead, they will
surely fall before me. I,
(your name here), am of God’s chosen lineage, a royal priesthood, a
holy nation, a people acquired by God, and I declare the praises of Him who called
me out of darkness into His wonderful
light, Jesus Christ,
my Lord and Savior. Thank You, Lord, because in every circumstance I am
more than a conqueror through the One who loved me, Christ Jesus. I am healthy!
I am free! I am prosperous! I am joyful! In the name of Jesus, Amen!

Important Note:
How do I become a Child of God? How do I establish a relationship with the
Almighty?
Just say the following prayer
aloud, putting all your attention
and heart into what you are saying to God:
Lord Jesus, I believe that You are the Son of
God. That You came into this world, born of
the virgin Mary, to pay for all my sins, and I have been a sinner. Therefore, today I say that I accept. I accept Your
sacrifice on the cross! I accept Your precious
Blood shed to the last drop out of love for me! I open my
heart to You and invite You in because I want, Lord Jesus, that from today and
forever You be my only and sufficient Savior, my God, my King, and my Lord.
Thank You, Almighty God, because with this
simple prayer and profession of faith I have passed from death to Life, I have been transferred from darkness
to Your marvelous Light. Today I have been Born Again! God, now I am Your
Child! Now You are my Father! I will never be alone again! I will never live
defeated again. In the name of Jesus. Amen.

Three Recommendations:
What just happened by you recognizing Jesus Christ as the Lord and
Savior of your life, according to God's Word,
is that you have been Born Again.
No longer as an ordinary human
being, subject to the law of sin and death, but now as a legitimate and
authentic Child of God, Born Again, exactly like Jesus Christ,
who is now your Older
Brother. Therefore, I give you these three,
very important, recommendations:
1.
Pray. Praying is talking with God. So, find a quiet
place where you can begin talking to Him about everything. Do it out loud, and you will notice
how God always responds to your heart.
2.
Read and meditate
on the Word of God. The Bible is the Word of God, so get a Bible
and start reading
and meditating on it. How do you begin? It’s very simple. Depending on the day,
look up the reading program “The Bible in
One Year” and do the corresponding readings. You can get this program at: Through The Bible In One Year
(palabradehonor.org). You will notice that the program is set up so you can
print it as a booklet.
3.
In prayer with God, your Father, look for and join a
Christian church or congregation where the Word of God is taught based on the Good News, which are the Gospel of Jesus
Christ.

October 17 Revelation 14 / Esther
5.1-6.14 / Psalm 106.24-48
Revelation
14
And I looked,
and, lo, a Lamb stood on the mount Sion, and with him an hundred forty and four thousand,
having his Father's name written in their foreheads.
2 And
I heard a voice from heaven, as the voice of many waters, and as the voice of a great thunder: and I heard the voice
of harpers harping
with their harps:
3 And
they sung as it were a new song before the throne, and before the four beasts, and the elders:
and no man could learn that song but the hundred and forty and four thousand, which were
redeemed from the earth.
4 These
are they which were not defiled with women; for they are virgins. These are
they which follow the Lamb whithersoever he goeth. These were redeemed from among men, being the firstfruits unto God and to the Lamb.
5 And in their mouth was found no guile:
for they are without fault before the throne of God.
6 And
I saw another angel fly in the midst of heaven, having the everlasting gospel to preach unto them that dwell on the earth,
and to every nation, and kindred, and tongue, and people,
7 Saying
with a loud voice, Fear God, and give glory to him; for the hour of his
judgment is come: and worship
him that made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and the fountains of waters.
8 And
there followed another angel, saying, Babylon is fallen, is fallen, that great city, because she made all nations drink of the wine of the wrath of her fornication.
9 And
the third angel followed them, saying with a loud voice, If any man worship the beast and his image,
and receive his mark in his forehead, or in his hand,
10 The
same shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out without mixture
into the cup of his indignation; and he shall
be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of
the holy angels, and in the presence of the Lamb:
11 And the smoke of their torment
ascendeth up for ever and ever: and they
have no rest day nor night, who worship the beast and his image, and whosoever
receiveth the mark of his name.
12 Here is the patience
of the saints: here are they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of
Jesus.
13 And
I heard a voice from heaven saying unto me, Write, Blessed are the dead which die in the Lord from henceforth: Yea, saith the Spirit, that they may rest from their labours; and their
works do follow them.
14 And I looked, and behold a white cloud,
and upon the cloud one sat like unto the Son of man,
having on his head a golden
crown, and in his hand
a sharp sickle.
15 And another
angel came out of the temple, crying
with a loud voice to him
that sat on the cloud, Thrust in thy sickle, and reap: for the time is come for
thee to reap; for the harvest of the earth is ripe.
16 And he that sat on the cloud thrust
in his sickle on the earth; and the earth was reaped.
17 And another
angel came out of the temple which is in heaven, he also
having a sharp sickle.
18 And another
angel came out from the altar, which had power over fire;
and cried with a loud cry to him that had the sharp sickle, saying,
Thrust in thy sharp sickle, and gather the clusters of the vine of the earth; for her grapes
are fully ripe.
19 And the angel thrust
in his sickle into the earth, and gathered the vine of the earth, and cast it into the great
winepress of the wrath of God.
20 And the winepress was trodden without
the city, and blood came out of the
winepress, even unto the horse bridles, by the space of a thousand and six
hundred furlongs.
Esther
5
Now it came to pass on the third day, that
Esther put on her royal apparel, and stood in the inner court of the king's
house, over against the king's house: and the king sat upon his royal
throne in the royal house,
over against the gate
of the house.
2 And it was so, when the king saw Esther the queen standing
in the court, that she
obtained favour in his sight: and the king held out to Esther the golden
sceptre that was in his hand. So Esther drew near, and touched the top of the sceptre.
3 Then said the king unto her, What wilt thou, queen Esther? and what is thy
request? it shall be even given thee to the half of the kingdom.
4 And Esther
answered, If it seem good unto the king, let the king and Haman come this day unto the banquet that
I have prepared for him.
5 Then the king said, Cause Haman to make haste, that he may do as Esther
hath said. So the king and Haman came to the banquet that Esther had prepared.
6 And the king said unto Esther
at the banquet of wine,
What is thy petition?
and it shall be granted thee: and what is thy request? even to the half of the
kingdom it shall be performed.
7 Then answered
Esther, and said, My petition
and my request is;
8 If I have found favour in the sight
of the king, and if it please
the king to grant
my petition, and to perform my request, let the king and Haman come to the
banquet that I shall prepare for them, and I will do to morrow as the king hath
said.
9 Then
went Haman forth that day joyful and with a glad heart: but when Haman saw Mordecai in the king's
gate, that he stood not up, nor moved for him, he was full of indignation
against Mordecai.
10 Nevertheless Haman refrained himself:
and when he came home, he sent and called for his friends, and
Zeresh his wife.
11 And
Haman told them of the glory of his riches, and the multitude of his children, and all the things wherein
the king had promoted him, and how he
had advanced him above the princes and servants of the king.
12 Haman said moreover, Yea, Esther the queen did let no man come in with the king unto the banquet that she had prepared but myself;
and to morrow am I invited unto her also with the king.
13 Yet all this availeth
me nothing, so long as I see Mordecai the Jew sitting
at the king's gate.
14 Then said Zeresh his wife and all his friends unto him, Let a gallows
be made of fifty cubits high, and to morrow speak thou unto the king that Mordecai
may be hanged thereon: then go thou in merrily with the king unto the
banquet.
And the thing pleased
Haman; and he caused the gallows to be made.
6
On that night could not the king sleep, and he commanded to bring the book
of records of the chronicles; and they were read before the king.
2 And it was found written, that Mordecai had told of Bigthana and Teresh,
two of the king's chamberlains, the keepers of the door, who sought to lay hand
on the king Ahasuerus.
3 And the king said, What honour
and dignity hath been done to Mordecai
for this? Then said the king's servants that ministered unto him, There
is nothing done for him.
4 And
the king said, Who is in the court? Now Haman was come into the outward court of the king's house,
to speak unto the king to hang Mordecai on the gallows that he had prepared for
him.
5 And the king's servants
said unto him, Behold, Haman standeth in the court.
And the king said, Let him come in.
6 So
Haman came in. And the king said unto him, What shall be done unto the man whom the king delighteth to honour? Now Haman thought
in his heart, To whom would
the king delight to do honour more than to myself?
7 And Haman answered the king, For the man whom the king delighteth to honour,
8 Let the royal apparel
be brought which the king useth to wear, and the horse that the king rideth upon, and the
crown royal which is set upon his head:
9 And
let this apparel and horse be delivered to the hand of one of the king's most
noble princes, that they may array the man withal whom the king delighteth to
honour, and bring him on horseback through the street of the city, and proclaim before
him, Thus shall it be done to the man whom the king
delighteth to honour.
10 Then
the king said to Haman, Make haste, and take the apparel and the horse, as thou hast said, and do even so to Mordecai the Jew, that sitteth at the king's gate: let nothing fail of
all that thou hast spoken.
11 Then took Haman the apparel and the
horse, and arrayed Mordecai, and brought him on horseback through the street of the city, and
proclaimed before him, Thus shall it be done unto the man whom the king delighteth to honour.
12 And Mordecai
came again to the king's
gate. But Haman hasted to his house mourning, and having his head
covered.
13 And
Haman told Zeresh his wife and all his friends every thing that had befallen him. Then said his
wise men and Zeresh his wife unto him, If
Mordecai be of the seed of the Jews, before whom thou hast begun to fall, thou shalt not prevail against him, but shalt surely
fall before him.
14 And while they were yet talking
with him, came the king's
chamberlains, and hasted to bring Haman unto the banquet that Esther had
prepared.
Psalm
106.24 Yea, they despised the pleasant land, they believed
not his word:
25 But murmured
in their tents,
and hearkened not unto the voice of the LORD.
26
Therefore he lifted up his hand against them, to overthrow
them in the wilderness:
27
To
overthrow their seed also among the nations,
and to scatter them in the
lands.
28
They joined themselves also unto Baalpeor,
and ate the sacrifices of the
dead.
29
Thus they provoked him to anger
with their inventions: and the plague brake in upon them.
30
Then stood up Phinehas,
and executed judgment:
and so the plague was stayed.
31
And that was counted
unto him for righteousness unto all generations for evermore.
32
They angered him also at the waters of strife, so that it went ill with Moses for their sakes:
33 Because they provoked his spirit, so that he spake unadvisedly with his lips.
34
They did not destroy
the nations, concerning whom the LORD commanded
them:
35 But were mingled among the heathen,
and learned their works.
36 And they served their idols: which
were a snare unto them.
37 Yea, they sacrificed their sons and their daughters
unto devils,
38
And shed innocent blood, even the
blood of their sons and of their daughters,
whom they sacrificed unto the idols of Canaan:
and the land was polluted
with blood.
39
Thus were they defiled
with their own works, and went a whoring with their
own inventions.
40
Therefore was the wrath of the LORD kindled against his people, insomuch that he abhorred his own
inheritance.
41
And he gave them into the hand of the heathen;
and they that hated them ruled over them.
42
Their enemies also oppressed
them, and they were brought
into subjection under their
hand.

18 And another
angel came out from the altar, which had power over fire;
and cried with a loud cry to him that had the sharp sickle, saying,
Thrust in thy sharp sickle, and gather the clusters of the vine of the earth; for her grapes
are fully ripe.
Esther, and said, My petition
and my request is;
8 If I have found favour in the sight
of the king, and if it please
the king to grant
my petition, and to perform my request, let the king and Haman come to the
banquet that I shall prepare for them, and I will do to morrow as the king hath
said.
9 Then
went Haman forth that day joyful and with a glad heart: but when Haman saw Mordecai in the king's
gate, that he stood not up, nor moved for him, he was full of indignation
against Mordecai.
12 Haman said moreover, Yea, Esther the queen did let no man come in with the king unto the banquet that she had prepared but myself;
and to morrow am I invited unto her also with the king.
41
And he gave them into the hand of the heathen;
and they that hated them ruled over them.
42
Their enemies also oppressed
them, and they were brought
into subjection under their
hand.
43
Many times did he deliver them;
but they provoked
him with their counsel,
and were brought low for their iniquity.
44 Nevertheless he regarded their
affliction, when he heard their
cry:
45
And he remembered for them his covenant, and repented according
to the multitude of his
mercies.
46 He made them also to be pitied of all those that carried
them captives.
47
Save us, O LORD our God, and gather
us from among the heathen,
to give thanks unto thy holy
name, and to triumph in thy praise.
48
Blessed be the LORD God of Israel from everlasting to everlasting: and let all the people say, Amen. Praise ye the LORD.
