How You Can Stop Fearing Death!

The Lord is Risen!

By Riqui Ricón*

And it came to pass, as they were much perplexed thereabout, behold, two men stood by them in shining garments: And as they were afraid, and bowed down their faces to the earth, they said unto them, Why seek ye the living among the dead? He is not here, but is risen: remember how he spake unto you when he was yet in Galilee, Saying, The Son of man must be delivered into the hands of sinful men, and be crucified, and the third day rise again. (Luke 24:4-7, KJV)

Regardless of the circumstances you are facing today, it is of vital importance that you fully understand the meaning of the resurrection of Jesus Christ, for this understanding is the beginning of your Victory.

First of all, you must be very clear that through His death and resurrection, Jesus destroyed him that had the power of death, that is, the devil; And deliver them who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage. (Hebrews 2:14-15, KJV)

Jesus Himself teaches you in the Bible (which is the Word of God and does not lie), that if you remain in the Word, believing God and believing His Word, you will know the Truth and only the Truth can set you free.

Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed; And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free. (John 8:31-32, KJV)

You don’t need to reflect much to realize that everyone who fears death lives

their entire life tied to that fear. They are, therefore, slaves to death.

For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. (Romans 6:23, KJV)

The Truth is that Jesus Christ, with His death and resurrection, conquered sin and destroyed the devil and his sting, which is death. Therefore, now, in Jesus Christ, YOU ARE FREE from the servitude or slavery that the fear of death produced in you.

The Bible teaches it this way!

For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sign; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him. (2 Corinthians 5:21, KJV)

According to the scripture, Jesus not only died for your sins but also made Himself sin for the love of you, and in this way, you were granted the gift of being made righteous and given the full right to ETERNAL LIFE.

This right to Eternal Life can only be exercised by a legitimate Child of God.

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. (John 3:16, KJV)

God loves you so much that He preferred to give up His own Son rather than lose you!

Even though in John 3:16 God guarantees that ALL who believe in Jesus do not perish but HAVE ETERNAL LIFE, it is amazing how some believers ignore or overlook what the words ETERNAL LIFE mean: This means living forever! In other words, not dying!

For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality. So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory. O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory? The sting of death is sin; and the strength of sin is the law. But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. (1 Corinthians 15:53-57, KJV)

When Jesus rose, that which was corruptible in Him (for He became a human being identical to you in every way) was clothed with incorruption; that which was mortal in Him became immortal. In this way, Jesus Christ became THE

FIRST BORN-AGAIN CHILD OF GOD, which leads us to the second meaning of the resurrection of Jesus Christ.

The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly. (John 10:10, KJV)

When Jesus dies on the cross, He pays the just punishment for your sins with His Blood, and by rising, He gives you free and total access to Eternal Life. But not just any type of life—not as creatures, nor as angels—but as a LEGITIMATE Child of the living and true God.

Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God: therefore the world knoweth us not, because it knew him not. (1 John 3:1, KJV)

Only because of His Love for you!

Having predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of his will. (Ephesians 1:5, KJV)

An authentic and legitimate Child of God cannot be—and is not, in any way— the same sinful person they were before, subject to their old passions, failures, and defeats.

That is why Jesus assured Nicodemus: it is NECESSARY for you to be Born Again if you want to see and enter the Kingdom of God.

For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren. (Romans 8:29, KJV)

Now, I have excellent news for you: according to the Word of God, because you accepted Jesus as your Lord and Savior, you are now a Born-Again Child of God. You are like Jesus, and through His death and resurrection, you have victory over death.

Herein is our love made perfect, that we may have boldness in the day of judgment: because as he is, so are we in this world. (1 John 4:17, KJV)

Now, because of that Love the Father feels for you, you have been made a Born-Again Child of God and you can only be (I don’t say you have to be, but that you already are) holy, righteous, immortal, and incorruptible.

Whosoever believeth that Jesus is the Christ is born of God. (1 John 5:1, KJV)

Through your faith in Jesus, you have been Born Again! You have been Born of God!

And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness. (Ephesians 4:24, KJV)

Now, in Jesus Christ, you have been created in the righteousness and holiness of the Truth.

Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever. (1 Peter 1:23, KJV)

The seed that gave you origin as a Born-Again Child of God IS NOT a seed that can be corrupted, but it IS the incorruptible seed of the Word of God that lives and remains forever.

It is, therefore, thanks to the resurrection of Jesus that death has nothing in you, for you have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father.

If you live under the New Covenant in the Blood of Jesus, then you have received Eternal Life and a New Nature! You are, without a doubt, a Born- Again Child of God!

Hallelujah, the Lord is risen!

Let’s pray out loud:

Beloved heavenly Father, how beautiful it is to know and believe what You did out of Love for me. Thank You for not sparing Your own Son Jesus, but giving Him up for me. Lord Jesus, thank You very much because, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God: But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the

likeness of men: And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross. Thank You because, with Your death and resurrection, You destroyed through death him who had the power of death, that is, the devil, and thus, You have set me free; for I, through the fear of death, was all my life subject to bondage. Because You died, my old nature, my old self, died with You! Because You live, I live too! The Eternal Life that You have is the same one You acquired for me! I can stop fearing death! Death no longer rules over me! Thank You! Thank You very much, Lord Jesus! Now I can, with all certainty, declare that: I am healed! I am free! I am prosperous! I am more than a conqueror! I can do all things through Christ! And, by the Blood of Jesus, I am blessed to live a full and abundant life. Thank You very much, Lord Jesus. Thank You for this New Life in Fullness that I now have. Thank You for my healing. Thank You for my health. Thank You for my prosperity. Thank You for the Love, peace, and joy that I now enjoy. Thank You for my Victory over death! In the name of Jesus. Amen.

Important Note:

How do I become a Child of God? How do I establish a relationship with the Almighty?

Just say the following prayer aloud, putting all your attention and heart into what you are saying to God:

Lord Jesus, I believe that You are the Son of God. That You came into this world, born of the virgin Mary, to pay for all my sins, and I have been a sinner. Therefore, today I say that I accept. I accept Your sacrifice on the cross! I accept Your precious Blood shed to the last drop out of love for me! I open my heart to You and invite You in because I want, Lord Jesus, that from today and forever You be my only and sufficient Savior, my God, my King, and my Lord.

Thank You, Almighty God, because with this simple prayer and profession of faith I have passed from death to Life, I have been transferred from darkness to Your marvelous Light. Today I have been Born Again! God, now I am Your Child! Now You are my Father! I will never be alone again! I will never live defeated again. In the name of Jesus. Amen.

Three Recommendations:

What just happened by you recognizing Jesus Christ as the Lord and Savior of your life, according to God's Word, is that you have been Born Again. No longer as an ordinary human being, subject to the law of sin and death, but now as a legitimate and authentic Child of God, Born Again, exactly like Jesus Christ, who is now your Older Brother. Therefore, I give you these three, very important, recommendations:

1.    Pray. Praying is talking with God. So, find a quiet place where you can begin talking to Him about everything. Do it out loud, and you will notice how God always responds to your heart.

2.    Read and meditate on the Word of God. The Bible is the Word of God, so get a Bible and start reading and meditating on it. How do you begin? It’s very simple. Depending on the day, look up the reading program “The

Bible in One Year” and do the corresponding readings. You can get this program at: Through The Bible In One Year (palabradehonor.org). You will notice that the program is set up so you can print it as a booklet.

3.    In prayer with God, your Father, look for and join a Christian church or congregation where the Word of God is taught based on the Good News, which are the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Reading and Meditation on the Word of God

Do these daily readings, and by the end of one year you will have read the entire Bible.

February 3    Luke 24.1-12 / Genesis 43 / Psalm 34 Luke

24 Now upon the first day of the week, very early in the morning, they came

unto the sepulchre, bringing the spices which they had prepared, and certain others with them.

2  And they found the stone rolled away from the sepulchre.

3  And they entered in, and found not the body of the Lord Jesus.

4  And it came to pass, as they were much perplexed thereabout, behold, two men stood by them in shining garments:

5  And as they were afraid, and bowed down their faces to the earth, they said unto them, Why seek ye the living among the dead?

6  He is not here, but is risen: remember how he spake unto you when he was yet in Galilee,

7  Saying, The Son of man must be delivered into the hands of sinful men, and be crucified, and the third day rise again.

8  And they remembered his words,

9  And returned from the sepulchre, and told all these things unto the eleven, and to all the rest.

10  It was Mary Magdalene and Joanna, and Mary the mother of James, and other women that were with them, which told these things unto the apostles.

11  And their words seemed to them as idle tales, and they believed them not.

12  Then arose Peter, and ran unto the sepulchre; and stooping down, he beheld the linen clothes laid by themselves, and departed, wondering in himself at that which was come to pass.

Genesis

43 And the famine was sore in the land.

2  And it came to pass, when they had eaten up the corn which they had brought out of Egypt, their father said unto them, Go again, buy us a little food.

3  And Judah spake unto him, saying, The man did solemnly protest unto us, saying, Ye shall not see my face, except your brother be with you.

4  If thou wilt send our brother with us, we will go down and buy thee food:

5  But if thou wilt not send him, we will not go down: for the man said unto us, Ye shall not see my face, except your brother be with you.

6  And Israel said, Wherefore dealt ye so ill with me, as to tell the man whether ye had yet a brother?

7  And they said, The man asked us straitly of our state, and of our kindred, saying, Is your father yet alive? have ye another brother? and we told him according to the tenor of these words: could we certainly know that he would say, Bring your brother down?

8  And Judah said unto Israel his father, Send the lad with me, and we will arise and go; that we may live, and not die, both we, and thou, and also our little ones.

9  I will be surety for him; of my hand shalt thou require him: if I bring him not unto thee, and set him before thee, then let me bear the blame for ever:

10  For except we had lingered, surely now we had returned this second time.

11  And their father Israel said unto them, If it must be so now, do this; take of the best fruits in the land in your vessels, and carry down the man a present, a little balm, and a little honey, spices, and myrrh, nuts, and almonds:

12  And take double money in your hand; and the money that was brought again in the mouth of your sacks, carry it again in your hand; peradventure it was an oversight:

13  Take also your brother, and arise, go again unto the man:

14  And God Almighty give you mercy before the man, that he may send away your other brother, and Benjamin. If I be bereaved of my children, I am bereaved.

15  And the men took that present, and they took double money in their hand and Benjamin; and rose up, and went down to Egypt, and stood before Joseph.

16  And when Joseph saw Benjamin with them, he said to the ruler of his house, Bring these men home, and slay, and make ready; for these men shall dine with me at noon.

17  And the man did as Joseph bade; and the man brought the men into Joseph's house.

18  And the men were afraid, because they were brought into Joseph's house; and they said, Because of the money that was returned in our sacks at the first

time are we brought in; that he may seek occasion against us, and fall upon us, and take us for bondmen, and our asses.

19  And they came near to the steward of Joseph's house, and they communed with him at the door of the house,

20  And said, O sir, we came indeed down at the first time to buy food:

21  And it came to pass, when we came to the inn, that we opened our sacks, and, behold, every man's money was in the mouth of his sack, our money in full weight: and we have brought it again in our hand.

22  And other money have we brought down in our hands to buy food: we cannot tell who put our money in our sacks.

23  And he said, Peace be to you, fear not: your God, and the God of your father, hath given you treasure in your sacks: I had your money. And he brought Simeon out unto them.

24  And the man brought the men into Joseph's house, and gave them water, and they washed their feet; and he gave their asses provender.

25  And they made ready the present against Joseph came at noon: for they heard that they should eat bread there.

26  And when Joseph came home, they brought him the present which was in their hand into the house, and bowed themselves to him to the earth.

27  And he asked them of their welfare, and said, Is your father well, the old man of whom ye spake? Is he yet alive?

28  And they answered, Thy servant our father is in good health, he is yet alive.

And they bowed down their heads, and made obeisance.

29  And he lifted up his eyes, and saw his brother Benjamin, his mother's son, and said, Is this your younger brother, of whom ye spake unto me? And he said, God be gracious unto thee, my son.

30  And Joseph made haste; for his bowels did yearn upon his brother: and he sought where to weep; and he entered into his chamber, and wept there.

31  And he washed his face, and went out, and refrained himself, and said, Set on bread.

32  And they set on for him by himself, and for them by themselves, and for the Egyptians, which did eat with him, by themselves: because the Egyptians might not eat bread with the Hebrews; for that is an abomination unto the Egyptians.

33  And they sat before him, the firstborn according to his birthright, and the youngest according to his youth: and the men marvelled one at another.

34  And he took and sent messes unto them from before him: but Benjamin's mess was five times so much as any of their's. And they drank, and were merry with him.

Psalm

34 I will bless the LORD at all times: his praise shall continually be in my mouth.

2  My soul shall make her boast in the LORD: the humble shall hear thereof, and be glad.

3  O magnify the LORD with me, and let us exalt his name together.

4  I sought the LORD, and he heard me, and delivered me from all my fears.

5  They looked unto him, and were lightened: and their faces were not ashamed.

6  This poor man cried, and the LORD heard him, and saved him out of all his troubles.

7  The angel of the LORD encampeth round about them that fear him, and delivereth them.

8  O taste and see that the LORD is good: blessed is the man that trusteth in him.

9  O fear the LORD, ye his saints: for there is no want to them that fear him.

10  The young lions do lack, and suffer hunger: but they that seek the LORD shall not want any good thing.

11  Come, ye children, hearken unto me: I will teach you the fear of the LORD.

12  What man is he that desireth life, and loveth many days, that he may see good?

13  Keep thy tongue from evil, and thy lips from speaking guile.

14  Depart from evil, and do good; seek peace, and pursue it.

15  The eyes of the LORD are upon the righteous, and his ears are open unto their cry.

16  The face of the LORD is against them that do evil, to cut off the remembrance of them from the earth.

17  The righteous cry, and the LORD heareth, and delivereth them out of all their troubles.

18  The LORD is nigh unto them that are of a broken heart; and saveth such as be of a contrite spirit.

19  Many are the afflictions of the righteous: but the LORD delivereth him out of them all.

20  He keepeth all his bones: not one of them is broken.

21  Evil shall slay the wicked: and they that hate the righteous shall be desolate.

22  The LORD redeemeth the soul of his servants: and none of them that trust in him shall be desolate.
