How to discern between Truth and lies!

So that you may know the Truth well!

 By Riqui Ricón*

Many have undertaken to draw up an account of the things that have been

fulfilled among us, just as they were handed down to us by those who from the first were eyewitnesses and servants of the word. (Luke 1:1-2, KJV)

The Bible, the Word of God, is the Truth and presents to you the things that are most certainly true among us. The Bible is the lamp that illuminates the path that opens before your feet.

Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path. (Psalm 119:105, KJV)

The Word of God has the virtue of producing faith in the believer and has been written for your benefit and blessing. It was written so that, by believing, you may know that God does not lie, that EVERYTHING He has said He will do, and EVERYTHING He has spoken He will execute.

Consequently, faith comes from hearing the message, and the message is heard through the word about Christ. (Romans 10:17, NIV)

For this reason, it is a matter of utmost security for your life that you strengthen yourself every day with His Word, because every adverse situation you face today will try to plant a lie in your heart. Lies such as: "now it really is too difficult"; "you won't be able to"; "it’s always the same and it will never change"; "you are a failure and irresponsible"; "it’s incurable"; "it’s impossible," etc., etc., etc.

Jesus said unto him, If thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth. (Mark 9:23, KJV)

You only need to remember that before disobeying, Adam and Eve doubted God's Word to believe the lies that Satan, the ancient serpent, told them.

And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die: For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil. (Genesis 3:4-5, KJV)

From that day until this moment, as you find yourself reading this, the dilemma in the human mind remains the same:

-this crawling creature says one thing and my God and creator says something very different.

-which of the two is telling the Truth?

-which of the two am I going to believe?

And of whom hast thou been afraid or feared, that thou hast lied, and hast not remembered me, nor laid it to thy heart? have not I held my peace even of old, and thou fearest me not? (Isaiah 57:11, KJV)

The system of this world (which Satan stole from man and designed for his own benefit), is based on deception and lies which, when you believe them, produce fear and anxiety. His purpose is to steal your faith, since with it—with faith—you can believe God, and you will know the Truth and the Truth sets you free.

Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed; And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free. (John 8:31-32)

The thief, Satan, comes only to kill, steal, and destroy, but Jesus has come into your life to give you the Full and Abundant Life of the Born Again Children of God: That is, Eternal Life.

For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. (Romans 6:23, KJV)

God loves you so much that He preferred to give up His own Son, Jesus, rather than lose you.

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. (John 3:16-17, KJV)

Today, with only a few days left before you celebrate Christmas, it is a very good time to reflect that, regardless of how you have lived your life, the Love God feels for you is what allows you to believe and trust to receive all the good promises He has made to you in His Word.

I have seen their ways, but I will heal them; I will guide them and restore

comfort to Israel’s mourners, creating praise on their lips. Peace, peace, to those far and near,” says the Lord. “And I will heal them.” (Isaiah 57:18-19, NIV)

God is good and faithful to His Word. He loves you so much that through the sacrifice of Jesus He paid all your debts, and by His resurrection He endowed you with that New Nature by which He can call you His Child today.

See what great love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are! The reason the world does not know us is that it did not know him. (1 John 3:1, NIV)

Beloved, convince yourself that the world and its system based on fear, anguish, and condemnation will always fight against you, trying to subject you to its lies. This is so because you, just like Jesus, are not of this world and now you know the Truth.

I have given them thy word; and the world hath hated them, because they are not of the world, even as I am not of the world. I pray not that thou shouldest take them out of the world, but that thou shouldest keep them from the evil. They are not of the world, even as I am not of the world. Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth. (John 17:14-17, KJV)

If you can believe God, then for the one who believes God, EVERYTHING is possible.

Let’s pray out loud:

Beloved heavenly Father, on this day I want to express how grateful I am for having given me Your Word, the Bible, as a lamp to my feet and a light on my path. Thank You because it is Your Word of Honor and I can fully trust in You. Lord Jesus, because of what You did for me, I am now a Child of the Father, just as You are. With Your death on the cross and Your precious Blood, shed to the last drop out of Love for me, You paid for all my sins, granting me justification; with Your resurrection You have given me a New Nature: Your Nature, that of a Child of God, and I have victory over death, for the wages of sin is death, but the Father's gift is You, Jesus Christ, Eternal Life! In Christ Jesus, I

(your name here), am righteous, I am holy, and I am eternal. Therefore, beloved Lord Jesus, I will not fear but believe. I am who You say in Your Word, the Bible, that I am: in ALL things I am more than a conqueror, for I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. I am a Born Again Child of God and I have overcome, for greater is the Holy Spirit, who is in me and with me, than he who is in the world! By Your Word, I am healed! I am free! I am prosperous! And I am going to live the remainder of this year and of my life, which is eternal, in the love, joy, and peace that only I can have, for I know, without a doubt, that I am a Child of the King. In the name of Jesus. Amen.

Important Note:

How do I become a Child of God? How do I establish a relationship with the Almighty?

Just say the following prayer aloud, putting all your attention and heart into what you are saying to God:

Lord Jesus, I believe that You are the Son of God. That You came into this world, born of the virgin Mary, to pay for all my sins, and I have been a sinner. Therefore, today I say that I accept. I accept Your sacrifice on the cross! I accept Your precious Blood shed to the last drop out of love for me! I open my heart to You and invite You in because I want, Lord Jesus, that from today and forever You be my only and sufficient Savior, my God, my King, and my Lord.

Thank You, Almighty God, because with this simple prayer and profession of faith I have passed from death to Life, I have been transferred from darkness to Your marvelous Light. Today I have been Born Again! God, now I am Your

Child! Now You are my Father! I will never be alone again! I will never live defeated again. In the name of Jesus. Amen.

Three Recommendations:

What just happened by you recognizing Jesus Christ as the Lord and Savior of your life, according to God's Word, is that you have been Born Again. No longer as an ordinary human being, subject to the law of sin and death, but now as a legitimate and authentic Child of God, Born Again, exactly like Jesus Christ, who is now your Older Brother. Therefore, I give you these three, very important, recommendations:

1.    Pray. Praying is talking with God. So, find a quiet place where you can begin talking to Him about everything. Do it out loud, and you will notice how God always responds to your heart.

2.    Read and meditate on the Word of God. The Bible is the Word of God, so get a Bible and start reading and meditating on it. How do you begin? It’s very simple. Depending on the day, look up the reading program “The

Bible in One Year” and do the corresponding readings. You can get this program at: Through The Bible In One Year (palabradehonor.org). You will notice that the program is set up so you can print it as a booklet.

3.    In prayer with God, your Father, look for and join a Christian church or congregation where the Word of God is taught based on the Good News, which are the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Reading and Meditation on the Word of God

Do these daily readings, and by the end of one year you will have read the entire Bible.

December 22    Luke 1.1-25 / Ezekiel 33 / Isaiah 57

Luke 1

1  Forasmuch as many have taken in hand to set forth in order a declaration of those things which are most surely believed among us,

2  Even as they delivered them unto us, which from the beginning were eyewitnesses, and ministers of the word;

3  It seemed good to me also, having had perfect understanding of all things from the very first, to write unto thee in order, most excellent Theophilus,

4  That thou mightest know the certainty of those things, wherein thou hast been instructed.

5  There was in the days of Herod, the king of Judaea, a certain priest named Zacharias, of the course of Abia: and his wife was of the daughters of Aaron, and her name was Elisabeth.

6  And they were both righteous before God, walking in all the commandments and ordinances of the Lord blameless.

7  And they had no child, because that Elisabeth was barren, and they both were now well stricken in years.

8  And it came to pass, that while he executed the priest's office before God in the order of his course,

9  According to the custom of the priest's office, his lot was to burn incense when he went into the temple of the Lord.

10  And the whole multitude of the people were praying without at the time of incense.

11  And there appeared unto him an angel of the Lord standing on the right side of the altar of incense.

12  And when Zacharias saw him, he was troubled, and fear fell upon him.

13  But the angel said unto him, Fear not, Zacharias: for thy prayer is heard; and thy wife Elisabeth shall bear thee a son, and thou shalt call his name John.

14  And thou shalt have joy and gladness; and many shall rejoice at his birth.

15  For he shall be great in the sight of the Lord, and shall drink neither wine nor strong drink; and he shall be filled with the Holy Ghost, even from his mother's womb.

16  And many of the children of Israel shall he turn to the Lord their God.

17  And he shall go before him in the spirit and power of Elias, to turn the hearts of the fathers to the children, and the disobedient to the wisdom of the just; to make ready a people prepared for the Lord.

18  And Zacharias said unto the angel, Whereby shall I know this? for I am an old man, and my wife well stricken in years.

19  And the angel answering said unto him, I am Gabriel, that stand in the presence of God; and am sent to speak unto thee, and to shew thee these glad tidings.

20  And, behold, thou shalt be dumb, and not able to speak, until the day that these things shall be performed, because thou believest not my words, which shall be fulfilled in their season.

21  And the people waited for Zacharias, and marvelled that he tarried so long in the temple.

22  And when he came out, he could not speak unto them: and they perceived that he had seen a vision in the temple: for he beckoned unto them, and remained speechless.

23  And it came to pass, that, as soon as the days of his ministration were accomplished, he departed to his own house.

24  And after those days his wife Elisabeth conceived, and hid herself five months, saying,

25  Thus hath the Lord dealt with me in the days wherein he looked on me, to take away my reproach among men.

Ezekiel

33 Again the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,

2  Son of man, speak to the children of thy people, and say unto them, When I bring the sword upon a land, if the people of the land take a man of their coasts, and set him for their watchman:

3  If when he seeth the sword come upon the land, he blow the trumpet, and warn the people;

4  Then whosoever heareth the sound of the trumpet, and taketh not warning; if the sword come, and take him away, his blood shall be upon his own head.

5  He heard the sound of the trumpet, and took not warning; his blood shall be upon him. But he that taketh warning shall deliver his soul.

6  But if the watchman see the sword come, and blow not the trumpet, and the people be not warned; if the sword come, and take any person from among them, he is taken away in his iniquity; but his blood will I require at the watchman's hand.

7  So thou, O son of man, I have set thee a watchman unto the house of Israel; therefore thou shalt hear the word at my mouth, and warn them from me.

8  When I say unto the wicked, O wicked man, thou shalt surely die; if thou dost not speak to warn the wicked from his way, that wicked man shall die in his iniquity; but his blood will I require at thine hand.

9  Nevertheless, if thou warn the wicked of his way to turn from it; if he do not turn from his way, he shall die in his iniquity; but thou hast delivered thy soul.

10  Therefore, O thou son of man, speak unto the house of Israel; Thus ye speak, saying, If our transgressions and our sins be upon us, and we pine away in them, how should we then live?

11  Say unto them, As I live, saith the Lord GOD, I have no pleasure in the death of the wicked; but that the wicked turn from his way and live: turn ye, turn ye from your evil ways; for why will ye die, O house of Israel?

12  Therefore, thou son of man, say unto the children of thy people, The righteousness of the righteous shall not deliver him in the day of his transgression: as for the wickedness of the wicked, he shall not fall thereby in the day that he turneth from his wickedness; neither shall the righteous be able to live for his righteousness in the day that he sinneth.

13  When I shall say to the righteous, that he shall surely live; if he trust to his own righteousness, and commit iniquity, all his righteousnesses shall not be remembered; but for his iniquity that he hath committed, he shall die for it.

14  Again, when I say unto the wicked, Thou shalt surely die; if he turn from his sin, and do that which is lawful and right;

15  If the wicked restore the pledge, give again that he had robbed, walk in the statutes of life, without committing iniquity; he shall surely live, he shall not die.

16  None of his sins that he hath committed shall be mentioned unto him: he hath done that which is lawful and right; he shall surely live.

17  Yet the children of thy people say, The way of the Lord is not equal: but as for them, their way is not equal.

18  When the righteous turneth from his righteousness, and committeth iniquity, he shall even die thereby.

19  But if the wicked turn from his wickedness, and do that which is lawful and right, he shall live thereby.

20  Yet ye say, The way of the Lord is not equal. O ye house of Israel, I will judge you every one after his ways.

21  And it came to pass in the twelfth year of our captivity, in the tenth month, in the fifth day of the month, that one that had escaped out of Jerusalem came unto me, saying, The city is smitten.

22  Now the hand of the LORD was upon me in the evening, afore he that was escaped came; and had opened my mouth, until he came to me in the morning; and my mouth was opened, and I was no more dumb.

23  Then the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,

24  Son of man, they that inhabit those wastes of the land of Israel speak, saying, Abraham was one, and he inherited the land: but we are many; the land is given us for inheritance.

25  Wherefore say unto them, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Ye eat with the blood, and lift up your eyes toward your idols, and shed blood: and shall ye possess the land?

26  Ye stand upon your sword, ye work abomination, and ye defile every one his neighbour's wife: and shall ye possess the land?

27  Say thou thus unto them, Thus saith the Lord GOD; As I live, surely they that are in the wastes shall fall by the sword, and him that is in the open field will I give to the beasts to be devoured, and they that be in the forts and in the caves shall die of the pestilence.

28  For I will lay the land most desolate, and the pomp of her strength shall cease; and the mountains of Israel shall be desolate, that none shall pass through.

29  Then shall they know that I am the LORD, when I have laid the land most desolate because of all their abominations which they have committed.

30  Also, thou son of man, the children of thy people still are talking against thee by the walls and in the doors of the houses, and speak one to another, every one to his brother, saying, Come, I pray you, and hear what is the word that cometh forth from the LORD.

31  And they come unto thee as the people cometh, and they sit before thee as my people, and they hear thy words, but they will not do them: for with their mouth they shew much love, but their heart goeth after their covetousness.

32  And, lo, thou art unto them as a very lovely song of one that hath a pleasant voice, and can play well on an instrument: for they hear thy words, but they do them not.

33  And when this cometh to pass, (lo, it will come,) then shall they know that a prophet hath been among them.

Isaiah

57 The righteous perisheth, and no man layeth it to heart: and merciful men are taken away, none considering that the righteous is taken away from the evil to come.

2  He shall enter into peace: they shall rest in their beds, each one walking in his uprightness.

3  But draw near hither, ye sons of the sorceress, the seed of the adulterer and the whore.

4  Against whom do ye sport yourselves? against whom make ye a wide mouth, and draw out the tongue? are ye not children of transgression, a seed of falsehood.

5  Enflaming yourselves with idols under every green tree, slaying the children in the valleys under the clifts of the rocks?

6  Among the smooth stones of the stream is thy portion; they, they are thy lot: even to them hast thou poured a drink offering, thou hast offered a meat offering. Should I receive comfort in these?

7  Upon a lofty and high mountain hast thou set thy bed: even thither wentest thou up to offer sacrifice.

8  Behind the doors also and the posts hast thou set up thy remembrance: for thou hast discovered thyself to another than me, and art gone up; thou hast enlarged thy bed, and made thee a covenant with them; thou lovedst their bed where thou sawest it.

9  And thou wentest to the king with ointment, and didst increase thy perfumes, and didst send thy messengers far off, and didst debase thyself even unto hell.

10  Thou art wearied in the greatness of thy way; yet saidst thou not, There is no hope: thou hast found the life of thine hand; therefore thou wast not grieved.

11  And of whom hast thou been afraid or feared, that thou hast lied, and hast not remembered me, nor laid it to thy heart? have not I held my peace even of old, and thou fearest me not?

12  I will declare thy righteousness, and thy works; for they shall not profit thee.

13  When thou criest, let thy companies deliver thee; but the wind shall carry them all away; vanity shall take them: but he that putteth his trust in me shall possess the land, and shall inherit my holy mountain;

14  And shall say, Cast ye up, cast ye up, prepare the way, take up the stumblingblock out of the way of my people.

15  For thus saith the high and lofty One that inhabiteth eternity, whose name is Holy; I dwell in the high and holy place, with him also that is of a contrite and humble spirit, to revive the spirit of the humble, and to revive the heart of the contrite ones.

16  For I will not contend for ever, neither will I be always wroth: for the spirit should fail before me, and the souls which I have made.

17  For the iniquity of his covetousness was I wroth, and smote him: I hid me, and was wroth, and he went on frowardly in the way of his heart.

18  I have seen his ways, and will heal him: I will lead him also, and restore comforts unto him and to his mourners.

19  I create the fruit of the lips; Peace, peace to him that is far off, and to him that is near, saith the LORD; and I will heal him.

20  But the wicked are like the troubled sea, when it cannot rest, whose waters cast up mire and dirt.

21  There is no peace, saith my God, to the wicked.
