The Word of God Helps You!
By Riqui Ricón*
Then the prophets, Haggai the prophet, and Zechariah the son of
Iddo, prophesied unto the Jews that were
in Judah and Jerusalem in the name
of the God of Israel, even unto them. Then rose up Zerubbabel the son of
Shealtiel, and Jeshua the son of Jozadak, and began to build
the house of God which is at Jerusalem: and the prophets of God
helped them that found them. (Ezra
5:1–2 KJV)
Those were very difficult days for the people of Israel:
after 70 years of the temple and the city of Jerusalem being destroyed because
of their sins and unbelief, they remained captive and full of fear. Even though
they had the order and express purpose of King Cyrus to rebuild the temple (and
with it, their lives), circumstances and enemies had intimidated them to such a degree that they were immobilized.
Despite their fear of the neighboring peoples, they built the
altar on its foundation and sacrificed burnt offerings on it to the Lord, both the morning
and evening sacrifices. (Ezra 3:3, NIV)
In this condition, God sends His Word and strengthens
them, encouraging them to get to work. Interestingly, it was the prophets who helped them with
the Word of God.
So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God. (Romans 10:17,
KJV)
And He said to them, “Do you not understand this parable? How then will you
understand all the parables? The sower sows the word. (Mark 4:13-14,
KJV)
The Parable of the Sower is the key to understanding ALL the message
of Salvation contained in the Bible.
This is the meaning of the parable:
The seed is the word of God. (Luke 8:11, NIV)
The secret of everything is that the Word of God is the seed sown in your
heart, and you are that good soil ready to bear fruit a hundredfold.
I will give you
a new heart and put a new spirit within you; I will take the
heart of stone out of your
flesh and give you a heart of flesh.
And I will put My Spirit within you and cause you to walk
in My statutes, and you will keep My judgments and do them. (Ezekiel
36:26-27, KJV)
By accepting Jesus Christ as your Lord and
Savior, God made you Born Again,
taking away the old and wicked heart you once had to give you a New heart after
His own.
For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even
our faith. (1 John 5:4 KJV)
Dear friend, if today you are facing any kind of
problem—sickness, debts, poverty, loneliness, family conflicts, divorce, work, fear, depression, etc.—here is the
most practical and successful advice to come out victorious from all those circumstances: read, study, and meditate on the Bible,
which is the Word
of God.
Let the Word of God help you!
This
Book of the Law
shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may
observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good
success. (Joshua 1:8, KJV)
This is the instruction God gives
you. This is the secret
your Father gives you so that you may know the key to success,
by which you will make your way prosperous and everything will go well for you.
Put the Word of God in your mind, mouth, and heart. This
will produce the faith your heart needs and remove the doubt, fear, and discouragement that try to paralyze you. I assure you that by doing this, you
will realize that truly you can do all things through Christ who strengthens
you, and in EVERY circumstance you will come out more than a conqueror through
Him who loved you, Christ Jesus.
Consequently, faith comes from hearing
the message, and the message
is heard through the word about Christ. (Romans 10:17
NIV)
The Bible produces
faith, and faith
is what you need most,
for only faith is the Victory with which you overcome the
world and its problems.
By faith we understand that the universe
was formed at God’s command,
so
that what is seen was not made out of what was visible.
(Hebrews 11:3 NIV)
The Word of God is the seed that nourishes and protects the embryo of
faith, and faith (believing God, believing His Word) is the most powerful force in the universe, and the Father has made it
fully available to you.
When the cool evening breezes were blowing, the man and his wife
heard the Lord God walking about in the garden. So they hid from the Lord God
among the trees. Then the Lord God called
to the man, “Where are you?”
He replied, “I heard you walking in the garden, so I
hid. I was afraid because I was naked.” (Genesis
3:8-10 NIV)
On the other hand, fear is also a spiritual
force; it is faith corrupted by unbelief in the
Word of God that Satan sowed in Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden. Since then, the devil has used doubt and fear
very successfully to keep captive those who ignore the Word
of God and live enslaved to unbelief.
Then Jesus said to those Jews who
believed Him, “If you abide in My word, you are My disciples indeed.
And you shall
know the truth,
and the truth
shall make you free.” (John
8:31-32 KJV)
The only thing that can truly lead you to live a Full and Free Life is
to remain firm and constant in the Word of God, in the Bible.
For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind. (2 Timothy 1:7
KJV)
According to the Bible, your New
Nature is that of a legitimate and genuine
Child of God, not that of a coward. The Power, Love, and self-control
characteristic of the divine nature (Child of God) are now yours.
For
you did not receive the spirit of bondage again to fear, but you received the Spirit of adoption by whom we cry out, “Abba, Father.”
The Spirit Himself
bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God. (Romans
8:15-16 KJV)
Whatever you are facing today,
you can get rid of the spirit
of fear that tries to enslave you, with your True Identity: You are a beloved
Child of the Most High God.
So, despite all of Satan’s
desperate attempts to discourage you, by the Blood of Jesus you have been made a Born Again
Child of God, the Word of God, which is the Truth, sets you free and for that
reason, you have already overcome!
Little children, you are of God, and have overcome them; because greater
is He that is in you, than he
that is in the world. (1 John 4:4 KJV)
Just like the Israelites in the time of Ezra, you must
get to work, for faith without works is dead. You will know you are acting in faith when you change the way you speak about the
problems or situations you are living through.
Always, the first work of your
faith will be to
change your way of thinking
and speaking about circumstances, for this (changing your way of
speaking) reflects, more than anything, that you are truly believing God,
believing His Word.
Instead of saying, “It’s hard, I don’t think it will
happen, you’ll never change, it’s always the same with you, I think I’m going to get sick,” etc., better
put the Word of God in your
heart and begin to declare:
●
I can do all things
through Christ who strengthens me.
●
I have believed
that Jesus is Lord, therefore I am saved,
I and my whole house. No one in my family
will be lost. All will come
to Christ. God has promised it and He will fulfill it.
●
My
God will supply
all my needs according to His riches in glory.
●
Surely Jesus Christ bore my sicknesses and suffered my pains, and by His wounds I have already been healed.
●
From every problem, affliction, or illness, I will come out more than a conqueror through Him who loved me,
Christ Jesus.
●
Faith is the certainty that what God said, He will do; it is the conviction that what God spoke, He will
accomplish.
Now faith is the substance of things hoped
for, the evidence
of things not seen.
(Hebrews 11:1 KJV)
Because of all this, pay close attention to what you think and speak,
for if what you think and speak is full of doubt and unbelief, your
faith is being nullified and you are at risk of being paralyzed by the spirit
of fear.
So, take courage,
rise up, and begin to declare aloud
what God, in His Word, the Bible, says about you.
Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might.
(Ephesians 6:10 KJV)
And what is the power of God’s might? His muscles? His angels? His
thunder and lightning? No, the Power of God’s Might is His Word!
Let us pray aloud:
Beloved Heavenly Father, today I stand before Your
Presence to declare that I am full of faith. I know that You love me so much
that You preferred to give Your Son, Jesus,
rather than lose me. I am Your special treasure,
and even if my
father and mother have forsaken me, You have taken me in. I am loved by God!
Today I determine to keep believing Your Word, the Bible. Lord Jesus, I am who
You say I am: more than a conqueror, one who can do all things. I resist the
spirit of discouragement and unbelief that wants to sow its fear in me. I am healed
and I am free, for the
law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus
has
made me free from the law of sin and death. Jesus, You
redeemed me from the curse by becoming a curse for me, and now I live and walk in Your blessing. Thank You, thank You so
much. You, Holy Spirit, live in me
and with me. I have Your Word that helps me. I have Your anointing. I have Your
faith. I have Your Love. There is no way I can lose! Therefore, I believe and
declare that I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. I have believed
that You, Jesus, are Lord, therefore I am saved,
I and my whole house. No one in my family will be lost. All will come to Christ.
God, You have promised it and You
will fulfill it. So, my God will supply all my needs according
to His riches in glory.
Surely You, Jesus Christ, bore
my sicknesses and suffered my pains, and by Your wounds I have already been
healed. From every problem, affliction, or illness, I,
(your name here), will come out more than a
conqueror through Him who loved me, Christ Jesus. I am healed!
I am free! I am prosperous! I am
blessed! I am a Born Again Child of God! In the name of Jesus. Amen.
Important Note:
How do I become a Child of God? How do I establish a relationship with the
Almighty?
Just say the following prayer aloud, putting
all your attention
and heart into what you are saying to God:
Lord Jesus, I believe that You are the Son of God. That
You came into this world, born of the virgin Mary, to pay for all my sins, and I have been a sinner. Therefore, today I say that I
accept. I accept Your sacrifice on the cross! I accept Your precious Blood shed to the last drop out of love for me! I open my heart
to You and invite You in
because I want, Lord Jesus, that from today and forever You be my only and sufficient
Savior, my God, my King, and my Lord.
Thank You,
Almighty God, because with this simple prayer and profession of faith I have passed
from death to Life, I have been transferred from darkness
to Your marvelous Light. Today I have been Born Again! God, now I am Your
Child! Now You are my Father! I will never be alone again! I will never live
defeated again. In the name of Jesus. Amen.
Three Recommendations:
What just
happened by you recognizing Jesus Christ as the Lord and Savior of your life, according to God's Word, is that you have been Born Again. No longer
as an ordinary human being, subject to the law of sin and death, but now as a
legitimate and authentic Child of God, Born Again, exactly like Jesus Christ, who is now your Older Brother. Therefore,
I give you these three, very important, recommendations:
1.
Pray. Praying is talking with God. So, find a quiet
place where you can begin talking to Him about everything. Do it out loud, and you will notice
how God always responds to your heart.
2.
Read and meditate
on the Word of God. The Bible is the Word of God, so get a Bible
and start reading
and meditating on it. How do you begin? It’s very simple. Depending on the day,
look up the reading program “The Bible in
One Year” and do the corresponding readings. You can get this program at: Through The Bible In One Year
(palabradehonor.org). You will notice that the program is set up so you can
print it as a booklet.
3.
In prayer with God, your Father, look for and join a
Christian church or congregation where the Word of God is taught based on the Good News, which are the Gospel of Jesus
Christ.

Reading and Meditation on the Word of God
Do these daily readings and by the end of one year you will have
read the entire Bible.
September 28 2 John / Ezra 5–6 / Psalm 93
1 The elder,
To the lady chosen
by God and to her children, whom I love in the truth—and not I
only, but also all who know the
truth— 2 because of the truth, which
lives in us and will be with us forever:
3 Grace, mercy and
peace from God the Father and from Jesus Christ, the Father’s Son, will
be with us in truth and love.
4 It has given me
great joy to find some of your children walking in the truth, just as the
Father commanded us. 5 And
now, dear lady,
I am not writing you a new command but one
we have had from the beginning. I ask that we love one another. 6 And
this is love: that we walk in obedience to his commands.
As you have heard from the beginning, his command is that you walk in love.
7 I say this because many
deceivers, who do not acknowledge Jesus Christ as coming in
the flesh, have gone out into the world. Any such person is the deceiver and
the antichrist. 8 Watch out that you
do not lose what we[a] have worked for, but that
you may be rewarded fully. 9 Anyone
who runs ahead and does not continue in the teaching of Christ does not have God; whoever continues
in the teaching has both the Father
and the Son. 10 If anyone comes to you and does not bring
this teaching, do not take them into your house or welcome them. 11 Anyone who welcomes them shares in
their wicked work.
12 I have much to write to you, but I do not want to
use paper and ink. Instead,
I hope to visit you and talk with you face to face, so that our joy
may be complete.
13 The children
of your sister, who is chosen by God, send their greetings.
God’s Razor of Judgment
5 “Now, son of man,
take a sharp sword and use it as a barber’s razor to shave your head and your
beard. Then take a set of scales and divide up the hair. 2 When the days of your siege come to an end, burn a third of the
hair inside the city. Take a third and strike it with the sword all around the
city. And scatter a third to the wind. For I will pursue them with drawn sword.
3 But take a few hairs and tuck them
away in the folds of your garment. 4 Again, take a few of these
and throw them into the fire and burn them up. A fire
will spread from there to all
Israel.
5 “This is what the Sovereign LORD says: This
is Jerusalem, which I have set in the center
of the nations, with countries all around
her. 6 Yet in her wickedness she has rebelled
against my laws and decrees more than the nations and countries around
her. She has rejected my laws and has not followed my decrees.
7 “Therefore this
is what the Sovereign LORD says: You have been more unruly than the nations around
you and have not followed
my decrees or kept my laws. You have not even[a] conformed to the standards
of the nations around you.
8 “Therefore this
is what the Sovereign LORD says: I myself am against you, Jerusalem, and I will inflict punishment on you in the
sight of the nations. 9 Because of
all your detestable idols, I will do to you what I have never done before and will never do again. 10 Therefore in your midst parents will eat their
children, and children will eat their parents. I will inflict punishment on you
and will scatter all your survivors to the winds. 11 Therefore as surely
as I live, declares the Sovereign LORD, because you have defiled
my sanctuary with all your vile images and detestable practices, I myself will
shave you; I will not look on you with pity or spare you. 12 A third of your people will die of the plague or perish by
famine inside you; a
third will fall by the sword outside your walls; and a
third I will scatter to the winds and
pursue with drawn sword.
13 “Then my anger will cease and my wrath against them will subside, and I will be avenged.
And when I have spent my wrath on them,
they will know that I the LORD have spoken in my zeal.
14 “I will make you a ruin and a reproach among
the nations around you, in the sight of all who pass by. 15 You
will be a reproach and a taunt, a warning
and an object of horror to the nations around you when I inflict
punishment on you in anger and in wrath
and with stinging rebuke. I the LORD have spoken. 16 When I shoot at you with my deadly
and destructive arrows of famine, I will shoot to destroy you. I will bring
more and more famine upon you and cut off your supply of food. 17 I will send famine and wild beasts
against you, and they will leave you childless. Plague and bloodshed will sweep
through you, and I will bring the sword against you. I the LORD have spoken.”
Doom for the Mountains of Israel
6 The word of the LORD came to me: 2 “Son
of man, set your face against the mountains
of Israel; prophesy against them 3 and
say: ‘You mountains of Israel, hear the word of the Sovereign LORD. This is what
the Sovereign LORD says to the mountains and hills, to the ravines and valleys: I am about
to bring a sword against you, and I will destroy your high places. 4 Your altars will be demolished and
your incense altars will be smashed; and I will slay your people in front of your idols. 5 I will lay the dead bodies
of the Israelites in front
of their idols, and I will
scatter your bones around your altars.
6 Wherever you live, the towns will be laid waste
and the high places demolished, so that your altars will be laid waste and
devastated, your idols smashed and ruined, your incense altars
broken down, and what you have made wiped out. 7 Your people will fall slain among you, and you will know that I am the
LORD.
8 “‘But I will
spare some, for some of you will escape the sword when you are scattered among
the lands and nations. 9 Then in the
nations where they have been carried captive, those who escape will remember
me—how I have been grieved by their adulterous hearts, which have turned away
from me, and by their eyes, which have lusted after their idols. They will loathe themselves for the evil they have done and for all their detestable practices. 10 And
they will know that I am the LORD; I did not threaten in vain to bring this calamity
on them.
11 “‘This is what the Sovereign LORD says: Strike your
hands together and stamp your feet and cry out “Alas!” because of all the
wicked and detestable practices of the people of Israel, for they will fall by
the sword, famine and plague. 12 One
who is far away will die of the plague, and one who is near will fall by the
sword, and anyone who survives and is spared
will die of famine. So will I pour out my wrath on them.
13 And
they will know that I am the LORD, when their people lie slain among their idols
around their altars,
on every high hill and on all the mountaintops,
under every spreading tree and every leafy oak—places where they offered
fragrant incense to all their idols. 14 And
I will stretch out my hand
against them and make the land a desolate waste
from the desert to Diblah[b]—wherever they live. Then they will know that
I am the LORD.’”
Psalm 93
1
The LORD reigns, he is robed in majesty;
the LORD is robed in majesty
and armed with strength;
indeed, the world is established, firm and secure.
2
Your throne
was established long ago;
you are from all eternity.
3
The seas have
lifted up, LORD, the seas have lifted up their voice;
the seas have lifted
up their pounding
waves.
4
Mightier than the thunder
of the great waters,
mightier than the breakers of the sea—
the LORD on high is mighty.
5
Your statutes, LORD, stand firm; holiness adorns your house
for endless
days.
