How Can You Overcome Today?
By Believing Who You Are!
By Riqui Ricón*
Ye are of God, little
children, and have overcome them:
because greater is he
that is in you, than he that is in the world. (1 John 4:4
KJV)
God tells you clearly in His Word (and always remember
that He does not lie) that you are
His, that you were bought at the
price of the Blood and Life of His Son Jesus, who loved you and gave Himself for you. Now,
you belong to God and, therefore, you have
already overcome, for greater is He who is in you and with you than anyone who is in the
world (against you).
What then shall
we say in response to these things?
If God is for us, who can be
against us? (Romans 8:31 NIV)
I invite you to read and declare the following
aloud, while meditating on it slowly: I, (put your name here),
am of God, I was bought at the price of the Blood and Life of Christ Jesus,
who loved me and gave Himself for me. Now I belong to the
Father, I am His, and I am a Born Again Child of God, therefore I have already
overcome the lies of
the devil. In all things
I am more than a conqueror, for greater is God, who is in me and
with me, than anyone who is in the world. There is no sickness, problem,
circumstance, or sin that can defeat me. In the name of Jesus. Amen.
If you realize
it, this is a totally
new lifestyle, one that truly offers you complete
victory, for it does not depend on what you did or are doing with your life, but on what Christ Jesus
did on the cross OUT OF LOVE for you.
For by grace you have been saved through faith; and this is not
from yourselves, it is the gift of God; not by works, so that no one can boast.
(Ephesians 2:8-9, paraphrased)
So, the only way you could be defeated in this life would be if you keep
listening and paying attention to the voice of the spirit of fear and
condemnation, who will continually accuse you, assuring
you that, because of the way you think, speak,
and act, you are not worthy to be called
a conqueror, much less a
Child of God.
If this is your case, I would remind that voice what the
Truth is; I would speak to that thought,
telling it that the Bible
is God’s Word of Honor and therefore it is the only Truth, and if the Bible says that He loves you
so much that He preferred to give up His own Son rather than lose you, then,
without a doubt, you are loved by God not because of what you did or are doing,
but because He decided to love you.
For God so loved the world, that he
gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not
perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to
condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. (John
3:16-17 KJV)
Speak to that voice of doubt and discouragement and tell it that if in
the Bible, He calls you His
Child, then, whether it likes it or not, you are what God says you are and
nothing else.
See
what great love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called
children of God! And that is what we are! The reason the world does not know
us is that it did not know him. (1 John 3:1 NIV)
Remind it that if
the Bible says that now, in Christ Jesus,
you have been Born
Again of the incorruptible seed which is His
Word, then, whether it likes
it or not, now you are
incorruptible.
For you have been born again, not of perishable seed, but of imperishable,
through the living and enduring word of God. (1 Peter
1:23 CST)
Assure the devil that if you happen to fall (for if we
say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth
is not in us), you will no longer run from God, your Father, feeling condemned, but
you will run to Him, for now, as a Born Again Child of God, you repent with all
your heart and change your way of thinking about yourself,
and therefore, automatically, you change your way of acting.
By confessing your sins, you RECEIVE His forgiveness, for
God is faithful and just to forgive
your sins and cleanse you from all unrighteousness. (1 John 1:8- 9, KJV)
So, the devil and his lies are totally defeated.
That ye put off concerning the former conversation the old man,
which is corrupt according to the
deceitful lusts; And be renewed
in the spirit of your mind; And that ye put on the new man,
which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness. (Ephesians
4:22–24 KJV)
Your old way of life and your old self no longer exist;
they died on the cross of Calvary and were buried in that tomb, together with
Jesus. That is what happened! This is the Truth! Renew
yourself in the spirit of your mind with the Word of God! Put the Bible in your mind, mouth, and heart so that you can put
on that New Man (or Woman) that you now are, created according to God in the
righteousness and holiness of the Truth.
Therefore, if anyone
is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed
away; behold, all things have become new. (2 Corinthians
5:17, KJV)
Now, this is only possible
if you believe what the Bible
says, for remember
that without faith, without believing God, believing what His Word says,
it is impossible to please God.
When Jesus had received
the sour wine, he said, “It is finished.” Then he bowed
his head and gave up his spirit.
(John 19:30, KJV)
The work that Jesus Christ accomplished on the cross out
of love for you is perfect, complete, and finished. He did not give His Life to give you a momentary victory
over sin and death and then leave you to see if now you could overcome them. No! Not at all!
He made you more than a conqueror once and for all and forever.
And
every priest standeth daily ministering and offering oftentimes the same
sacrifices, which can never take away sins: But this man, after he had offered
one sacrifice for sins for ever, sat down on the right hand of God; From
henceforth expecting till his enemies
be made his footstool. For by one offering
he hath perfected for ever them that are sanctified. (Hebrews
10:11–14 KJV)
For this reason,
Scripture says about you:
No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us.
(Romans 8:37, NIV/paraphrased)
Now, thanks to the price that was paid for it, you are a Victorious Child of the King;
and neither sin nor death have anything
in you. You are exactly
as Jesus is, no more, no less.
This is how love is made
complete among us so that we will have confidence on the day of judgment: In this world we are like Jesus. (1
John 4:17 NIV)
What makes you perfect before God is not that you do not
sin, but that you BELIEVE His Word; that you BELIEVE in His Love; that you
BELIEVE that the sacrifice of Jesus was complete, perfect, and finished; that
you BELIEVE that when you accepted Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior of your life
you were transformed by the Word of God (1 Peter 1:23); that you BELIEVE that
while you were dead in trespasses and sins you RECEIVED life together with
Christ (Ephesians 2:5); that you BELIEVE that you were transferred from
darkness to His marvelous light
(1 Peter 2:9); that you BELIEVE that you passed
from death to life (John
11:25); that you BELIEVE that your old sinful nature died on that cross
(Galatians 2:20); that you BELIEVE that you were BORN AGAIN! (1 John 5:1); and
that you BELIEVE that His Grace is more than sufficient for you (2 Corinthians
12:9).
Let us pray aloud:
Beloved Heavenly Father, thank You because every day I
understand more what You did out of love for me. Thank You because in Christ
Jesus You transformed me from being a loser to being more than a conqueror,
from a sinner to a Born Again Child
of God. I am holy, righteous, and perfect. I repent of all my sins,
I confess them before You, and I receive Your forgiveness. Thank
You so much, for because of this, Your great
Love for me, today I can declare with ALL CERTAINTY that I, (your name here), dwell in Your shelter and
abide under Your shadow, Almighty God. You are my hope and my fortress. I trust in You. You deliver me
from the snare of the fowler and from the deadly pestilence. You cover me with
Your feathers, and under Your wings I am safe. Your truth is my shield and
buckler. So I will not fear the terror of night, nor the arrow
that flies by day,
nor the pestilence that stalks in darkness, nor the destruction that wastes at noonday. A
thousand may fall at my side, and ten thousand at my right hand, but it will
not come near me. Surely with my eyes I will look and see the reward of the wicked. Because
I have made You, my God, who
are my hope, the Most High my
dwelling place, therefore, no evil shall befall me, nor shall any plague come
near my dwelling. For You will command Your angels concerning me, to guard me
in all my ways. They will lift me up in their hands, so that I will not strike
my foot against a stone. I will tread on the lion and the cobra; I will trample
the great lion and the serpent.
Because I have set my love upon You, Heavenly Father, You
will deliver me; You will set me on
high, because I have known Your name. I will call upon You, and You will answer me; You will be with
me in trouble; You will deliver
me and honor me. With long
life You will satisfy me and show me Your salvation. So, Abba! Father! I am
Yours and You are mine. In Christ Jesus I have already overcome, for greater
are You, Holy Spirit, who lives in me and with me, than he who is in the world.
Father, all and every one of Your Promises are in me, yes and amen! I submit to
You, my God and Father, I submit to Your Word, I resist Satan and he has to
flee from my life. I do not receive doubt, nor fear, nor sickness, nor poverty,
nor anguish, nor depression. I am healed!
I am free! I am
prosperous! I am blessed! In the name of Jesus. Amen.
Important Note:
How do I become a Child of God? How do I establish a relationship with the
Almighty?
Just say the following prayer aloud, putting
all your attention
and heart into what you are saying to God:
Lord Jesus, I believe that You are the Son of God. That
You came into this world, born of the virgin Mary, to pay for all my sins, and I have been a sinner. Therefore, today I say that I
accept. I accept Your sacrifice on the cross! I accept Your precious Blood shed to the last drop out of love for me! I open my heart
to You and invite You in
because I want, Lord Jesus, that from today and
forever You be my only and sufficient Savior, my God, my King, and my Lord. Thank You, Almighty
God, because with this simple prayer and profession of faith I have passed
from death to Life, I have been transferred from darkness
to Your marvelous Light. Today I have been Born Again! God, now I am Your
Child! Now You are my Father! I will never be alone again! I will never live
defeated again. In the name of Jesus. Amen.
Three Recommendations:
What just
happened by you recognizing Jesus Christ as the Lord and Savior of your life, according to God's Word, is that you have been Born Again. No longer
as an ordinary human being, subject to the law of sin and death, but now as a
legitimate and authentic Child of God, Born Again, exactly like Jesus Christ, who is now your Older Brother. Therefore,
I give you these three, very important, recommendations:
1.
Pray. Praying is talking with God. So, find a quiet
place where you can begin talking to Him about everything. Do it out loud, and you will notice
how God always responds to your heart.
2.
Read and meditate
on the Word of God. The Bible is the Word of God, so get a Bible
and start reading
and meditating on it. How do you begin? It’s very simple. Depending on the day,
look up the reading program “The Bible in
One Year” and do the corresponding readings. You can get this program at: Through The Bible In One Year
(palabradehonor.org). You will notice that the program is set up so you can
print it as a booklet.
3.
In prayer with God, your Father, look for and join a
Christian church or congregation where the Word of God is taught based on the Good News, which are the Gospel of Jesus
Christ.

On Denying the Incarnation
4 Dear friends, do not believe
every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether
they are from God, because many false prophets have
gone out into the world. 2 This is
how you can recognize the Spirit of God:
Every spirit that acknowledges that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh
is from God, 3 but
every spirit that does not acknowledge Jesus is not from God. This
is the spirit of the antichrist, which you have heard is coming and even
now is already in the world.
4 You, dear children, are from God and have overcome them,
because the one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the
world. 5 They are from the world and
therefore speak from the viewpoint of the world, and the world listens to them.
6 We are from God, and whoever knows
God listens to us; but whoever is not from God does not listen to us. This is
how we recognize the Spirit[a] of truth and the
spirit of falsehood.
God’s Love and Ours
7 Dear friends, let
us love one another, for love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born
of God and knows God. 8 Whoever does
not love does not know God, because God is love. 9 This is how God showed his love among us: He sent his one and
only Son into the world that we might
live through him. 10
This is love: not that we loved
God, but that he
loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins. 11 Dear friends, since God so loved us,
we also ought to love one another. 12 No
one has ever seen God; but if we love one another, God lives in us and his love
is made complete in us.
13 This is how we know that we live in him and he in us: He has given us of his
Spirit. 14 And we have seen and testify that the Father has sent
his Son to be the
Savior of the world. 15 If anyone acknowledges that Jesus is
the Son of God, God lives in them and they in God. 16 And so we know and rely on the love God has for us.
God is love. Whoever
lives in love lives in God, and God in them.
17 This is how love is made complete among us so that we will
have confidence on the day of judgment: In this world we are like Jesus. 18 There is no fear in love. But
perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one
who fears is not made perfect in love.
19 We love because he first loved us.
20 Whoever
claims to love God yet hates a brother or sister is a liar. For whoever does not
love their brother and sister, whom they have seen, cannot love God, whom they have not seen. 21 And he has
given us this command: Anyone who loves God must also love their
brother and sister.
Ezekiel’s Inaugural Vision
1 In my thirtieth year, in the fourth month
on the fifth day, while I was among the exiles by the Kebar River, the heavens were
opened and I saw visions of God.
2 On the fifth of
the month—it was the fifth year of the exile of King Jehoiachin— 3 the word of the LORD came to Ezekiel
the priest, the son of Buzi, by the Kebar
River in the land of the Babylonians.[a] There the hand of
the LORD
was
on him.
4 I looked, and I saw a windstorm coming out of the north—an immense
cloud with flashing lightning and surrounded by brilliant light.
The center of the fire looked like glowing metal, 5 and in the fire was what looked like four living creatures. In
appearance their form was human, 6 but
each of them had four faces and four wings. 7 Their legs were straight; their feet were like those of a calf
and gleamed like burnished bronze. 8 Under
their wings on their four sides they had human hands. All four of them had
faces and wings, 9 and the wings of one
touched the wings of another. Each one went straight ahead; they did
not turn as they moved.
10 Their faces
looked like this: Each of the four had the face of a human being, and on the
right side each had the face of a lion, and on the left the face of an ox; each
also had the face of an eagle.
11 Such were their faces. They each had two wings spreading
out upward, each wing
touching that of the creature on either side; and each had two other wings
covering its body. 12 Each one went
straight ahead. Wherever the spirit would go, they would go, without turning
as they went. 13 The appearance of the living creatures was like burning
coals of fire or like torches.
Fire moved back and forth
among the creatures; it was
bright, and lightning flashed out of it. 14
The creatures sped back and forth like flashes of lightning.
15 As I looked at the living
creatures, I saw a wheel
on the ground beside each creature
with its four faces. 16 This
was the appearance and structure of the wheels: They sparkled like topaz, and all four looked alike.
Each appeared to be made like a wheel intersecting a wheel.
17 As they moved, they would go in any one of the four directions the creatures faced;
the wheels did not change direction as the creatures went. 18 Their rims were high and awesome,
and all four rims were full of eyes all around.
19 When the living
creatures moved, the wheels beside them moved; and when the living creatures rose from the ground, the wheels also rose.
20 Wherever the spirit would
go, they would go, and the
wheels would rise along with them, because the spirit of the living creatures
was in the wheels. 21 When the
creatures moved, they also moved; when the creatures stood still, they also stood still; and when the creatures rose from the ground, the wheels rose along with
them, because the spirit of the living creatures was in the wheels.
22 Spread out above
the heads of the living creatures was what looked something like a vault, sparkling
like crystal, and awesome.
23 Under the vault their wings were stretched out one toward the other, and each had
two wings covering its body. 24 When
the creatures moved, I heard the
sound of their wings, like the
roar of rushing waters, like the voice of the Almighty,[b] like the tumult of an army.
When they stood still, they lowered their wings.
25 Then there came a voice from above the vault
over their heads as they stood with lowered
wings. 26 Above the vault
over their heads was what looked like a throne
of lapis
lazuli, and high above
on the throne was a figure like that of a man. 27 I saw that from what appeared to be his waist up he looked
like glowing metal, as if full of fire, and that from there down he looked like fire; and brilliant
light surrounded him. 28 Like
the appearance of a rainbow in the clouds on a rainy day,
so was the radiance around him.
This was the appearance of the likeness
of the glory of the LORD. When I saw it, I fell
facedown, and I heard the voice of one speaking.
Ezekiel’s Call to Be a Prophet
2 He said to me, “Son of man,[c] stand up on
your feet and I will speak to you.” 2 As
he spoke, the Spirit came into me and raised me to my feet,
and I heard him speaking
to me.
3 He said: “Son of
man, I am sending you to the Israelites, to a rebellious nation that has
rebelled against me; they and their ancestors have been in revolt against me to
this very day. 4 The people to whom
I am sending you are obstinate and stubborn. Say to them, ‘This is what the
Sovereign LORD says.’ 5 And whether they
listen or fail to listen—for they are a rebellious people—they will know that a
prophet has been among them. 6 And
you, son of man, do not be
afraid of them or their words. Do not be afraid, though
briers and thorns
are all around you and you live among scorpions. Do not be afraid of
what they say or be terrified by them, though they are a rebellious people. 7 You
must speak my words to them,
whether they listen or fail to listen, for they are rebellious. 8 But you, son of man, listen to what I
say to you. Do not rebel like that rebellious people; open your mouth and eat
what I give you.”
9 Then I looked,
and I saw a hand stretched out to me. In it was a scroll, 10 which he unrolled before me. On both sides of it were written words of lament
and mourning and woe.
Psalm 91
1
Whoever dwells in the shelter
of the Most High will rest in
the shadow of the Almighty.[a]
2
I will say of the LORD, “He is my refuge
and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.”
3
Surely he will save you
from the fowler’s snare
and from the deadly
pestilence.
4
He will cover you
with his feathers, and under his wings you will find refuge;
his faithfulness will be your shield and rampart.
5
You will not fear the terror
of night, nor the arrow that
flies by day,
6
nor the pestilence that stalks in the darkness, nor the plague that destroys at
midday.
7
A thousand may fall at your side, ten thousand at your right hand, but
it will not come near you.
8
You will only
observe with your eyes and see the punishment of the wicked.
9
If you say,
“The LORD is my refuge,”
and you make the Most High your dwelling,
10
no harm will
overtake you,
no disaster
will come near your tent.
11
For he will command
his angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways;
12
they will lift you up in their hands,
so that you will not
strike your foot against a
stone.
13
You will tread on
the lion and the cobra; you will trample the great lion and the serpent.
14
“Because he[b] loves me,” says the LORD, “I will rescue
him;
I will protect him, for he acknowledges my name.
15
He will call on me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble,
I will deliver him and honor him.
16
With long life
I will satisfy him
and show him my salvation.”
