What Do You Need to Move Forward?
Just One Word from the Lord!
By Riqui Ricón
Look upon my suffering and rescue me, for I have not forgotten
your law. Defend my cause and redeem me; preserve my life according to your
promise. Salvation is far from the wicked, for they do not seek your decrees.
Your compassion, Lord, is great; preserve my life according to your laws… See
how I love your precepts; preserve my life,
Lord, in accordance with your love. All your words are true; all your righteous
laws are eternal. (Psalm 119:153–156, 159– 160, NIV)
For us believers
— those who have made Jesus the Lord and Savior of our lives and who have therefore been Born
Again as children of God — there is no doubt whatsoever that the Bible is the
Word of God and that it is the Truth.
You will keep in perfect
peace those whose minds are steadfast, because
they trust in you. (Isaiah 26:3, NIV)
Even in the midst of troubles and afflictions,
you can have joy and peace because you know the Truth and you know that in all things you are more than
a conqueror — for God has established this in His Word.
They will fight
against you but will not overcome you, for I am with you and will
rescue you, declares the Lord. (Jeremiah 1:19, NIV)
You already
have guaranteed victory! You just
have to persevere in making
the Word of God the highest
authority in your life
— filling your mind, your mouth,
and your heart with it.
“Lord, if it’s you,” Peter
replied, “tell me to come to you on the water.” “Come,” he said. Then Peter got down out
of the boat, walked on the water and came toward Jesus. But when he saw the
wind, he was afraid and, beginning
to sink, cried out, “Lord, save me!” Immediately Jesus reached out his hand and caught him. “You of little faith,” he
said, “why did you doubt?” (Matthew 14:28–31, NIV)
That night when Jesus walked
on the water and His disciples, terrified, thought they were seeing
a ghost, He encouraged them saying, “Don’t
be afraid; it is I.” But Peter said, “If it’s you, tell me
to come to you on the water.” And Jesus
replied, “Come.” That was all Peter needed —
ONE WORD from Jesus — and
he began to walk on the water.
In the same way, you, like Peter, only need to BELIEVE
God. The problem
arises when the strong wind, the problems, sickness, or any affliction
convince you that this time they are greater than the Word — and fear enters
your heart.
Fear produces doubt,
and doubt extinguishes your faith.
While he was still speaking
to her, a messenger arrived
from the home of
Jairus,
the leader of the synagogue, and told him, “Your daughter is dead. There’s no
use troubling the Teacher now.” But when Jesus heard what had happened, he said to Jairus, “Don’t be afraid.
Just have faith,
and she will be healed.” (Luke
8:49–50, NLT)
When the news came to Jairus that his daughter
had died and there was no
longer any hope, Jesus silenced the spirit of fear and doubt by declaring,
“Jairus, don’t be afraid—just believe!”
It is the Word of God that gives you life, that strengthens you not to fear and to
come out victorious even in the most terrible circumstances. That’s why the
psalmist prayed, Look upon my suffering
and rescue me, for I have not forgotten your law. Defend my cause and redeem
me; preserve my life according to your promise. (Psalm 119:153–154, NIV)
The truth is that God does not lie, and trusting Him isn’t difficult. If God said it,
He will do it. If God spoke it, He will bring it to pass.
May your unfailing
love come to me, Lord, your salvation, according to your promise; then I can answer anyone who
taunts me, for I trust in your word. (Psalm
119:41–42, NIV)
You will never be put to shame
for having placed
your full trust in the Word of Honor of God, your Father!
I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace.
In this world you will have trouble. But take heart!
I have overcome the world. (John 16:33, NIV)
So then, if God says in His Word that you can do all things through
Christ, then you can do all
things through Christ who strengthens you!
If God says in His Word that surely He took up your infirmities and carried your sorrows, and that by His wounds
you have been healed, then surely He took up
your infirmities and carried your sorrows, and by His wounds you have already been healed!
That’s how simple faith is—like a mustard
seed. Blessed, joyful, and truly happy is the man or woman who trusts in God,
because even when you walk through the valley of the shadow of death, you will fear no evil, for Jesus,
your King and Savior, is with you.
Keep this Book of the Law always
on your lips; meditate on it day and night, so
that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be
prosperous and successful. (Joshua 1:8, NIV)
This is why you urgently need to make the
Bible the highest standard of your existence.
Read it and meditate on it every day of your life, for then—and
only then (not before, not after, and in no other way)—you will make
your way prosperous, and everything will go well for you.
Let’s pray out loud:
Beloved Heavenly Father, I put my trust in
You. I know that Your Word, the Bible, is the Truth; therefore, I believe it
and keep it as the highest standard of my life. I know that things will go well
for me and that I will make my way prosperous. And even though I may be facing
problems and afflictions today, I declare in Your name, Jesus Christ, that I
will move forward in freedom and victory, in health and prosperity, for it is
written about me that in all things I am more than a conqueror through Him who
loves me—Christ Jesus. I resist and cast out of my life all sickness, poverty,
sadness, depression, loneliness, fear, and anguish. I cover my entire
being—spirit, soul, and body—with the Blood
of Jesus, and I call for and receive all the health,
love, peace, and joy that You, Lord Jesus, purchased for me
when You died on the cross. I believe and declare that I am healed! I am free!
I am prosperous! I am joyful! I am a Born- Again Child of God! All thanks to
You, Lord Jesus. Amen.
Important Note:
How do I become a Child of God? How do I establish a relationship with the
Almighty?
Just say the following prayer
aloud, putting all your attention
and heart into what you are saying to God:
Lord Jesus, I believe that You are the Son of
God. That You came into this world, born
of the virgin Mary, to pay for all my sins, and I have
been a sinner. Therefore, today I say that I accept. I accept Your
sacrifice on the cross! I accept Your precious
Blood shed to the last drop out of love for me! I open my
heart to You and invite You in
because I want, Lord Jesus, that from today and forever You be my only and sufficient Savior, my
God, my King, and my Lord.
Thank You, Almighty God, because with this
simple prayer and profession of faith I have passed from death to Life, I have been transferred from darkness
to Your marvelous Light. Today I have been Born Again! God, now I am Your
Child! Now You are my Father! I will never be alone again! I will never live
defeated again. In the name of Jesus. Amen.
Three Recommendations:
What just happened by you recognizing Jesus Christ as the Lord and
Savior of your life, according
to God's Word, is that you have been Born Again. No longer
as an ordinary human being, subject to the law of sin and death, but now as a
legitimate and authentic Child of God, Born Again, exactly like Jesus Christ, who is now your Older Brother. Therefore,
I give you these three, very important, recommendations:
1.
Pray. Praying is talking with God. So, find a quiet
place where you can begin talking to Him about everything. Do it out loud, and you will notice
how God always responds to your heart.
2.
Read and meditate
on the Word of God. The Bible
is the Word of God, so
get a Bible and start reading and meditating on it. How do you begin? It’s very simple. Depending on the day,
look up the reading program “The
Bible in One Year” and do the corresponding readings. You can get this program at: Through The Bible In One Year (palabradehonor.org). You will notice
that the program is set up so you can print it as a booklet.
3.
In prayer with God, your Father, look for and join a
Christian church or congregation where the Word of God is taught based
on the Good News, which are
the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

5.1-22 / Jeremiah
1-2 / Psalm 119.145-176
1 Timothy
5
Rebuke not an elder, but intreat him as a father; and the younger
men as brethren;
2 The elder
women as mothers;
the younger as sisters, with all purity.
3
Honour widows that are widows
indeed.
4 But if any widow have children
or nephews, let them learn
first to shew piety
at home, and to requite their parents: for that is good and acceptable before God.
5 Now she that is a widow indeed, and desolate, trusteth
in God, and continueth in supplications and
prayers night and day.
6 But she that liveth
in pleasure is dead while she liveth.
7 And these things give in charge,
that they may be blameless.
8 But if any provide
not for his own, and specially for those of his own house,
he hath denied the faith, and is worse than an infidel.
9 Let not a widow be taken into the number under threescore years old, having been the wife of one man.
10 Well reported of
for good works; if she have brought up children, if she have lodged strangers, if she have washed the saints' feet, if she have relieved the afflicted, if she have
diligently followed every good work.
11 But the younger widows
refuse: for when they have begun to wax wanton against Christ, they will marry;
12
Having damnation, because
they have cast off their first faith.
13 And withal
they learn to be idle, wandering about from house to house; and
not only idle, but tattlers also and busybodies, speaking things which they
ought not.
14 I will therefore that the younger
women marry, bear children, guide
the house, give none occasion to the adversary to speak reproachfully.
15 For some are already
turned aside after
Satan.
16 If any man or woman that believeth have widows, let them relieve
them, and let not the church
be charged; that it may relieve them that are widows
indeed.
17 Let the elders that rule well be counted
worthy of double
honour, especially they who
labour in the word and doctrine.
18 For the scripture saith, thou shalt not muzzle
the ox that treadeth out the
corn. And, The labourer is worthy of his reward.
19 Against an elder receive
not an accusation, but before two or three
witnesses.
20
Them that sin rebuke before all, that others also may fear.
21 I charge thee
before God, and the Lord Jesus Christ, and the elect angels, that thou observe these
things without preferring one before another,
doing nothing by partiality.
22 Lay hands suddenly on no man, neither be partaker of other men's sins:
keep thyself pure.
Jeremiah
1 The words of Jeremiah
the son of Hilkiah, of the priests
that were in Anathoth in the land of Benjamin:
2 To whom the word of the LORD came in the days of Josiah the son of Amon
king of Judah, in the thirteenth year of his reign.
3 It came also in the days of Jehoiakim
the son of Josiah king of Judah, unto the end of the eleventh year of Zedekiah
the son of Josiah king of Judah, unto the carrying away of Jerusalem captive in
the fifth month.
4 Then the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,
5 Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest
forth out of the womb I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a prophet
unto the nations.
6
Then said I, Ah, Lord GOD! behold, I cannot speak:
for I am a child.
7 But the LORD said unto me, Say not, I am a child:
for thou shalt
go to all that I shall send thee, and whatsoever I
command thee thou shalt speak.
8
Be not afraid of their faces: for I am with thee to deliver
thee, saith the LORD.
9 Then the LORD put forth his hand, and touched my mouth. And the
LORD said unto me, Behold, I have put my words in thy
mouth.
10 See, I have this day set thee over the nations
and over the kingdoms, to root
out, and to pull down, and to destroy, and to throw down, to build, and to plant.
11 Moreover the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,
Jeremiah, what seest thou? And I said, I see a rod of an
almond tree.
12 Then said the LORD unto me, Thou hast well seen: for I will hasten my word to perform it.
13 And the word of
the LORD came unto me the second time, saying, What seest thou? And I said, I see a seething pot; and the face thereof
is toward the north.
14 Then the LORD said unto me, Out of the north an evil shall break forth upon all the inhabitants of the land.
15 For, lo, I will call all the families
of the kingdoms of the north, saith the
LORD; and they shall come, and they shall set every one
his throne at the entering of the gates of Jerusalem, and against all the walls
thereof round about, and against all the cities of Judah.
16 And I will utter my judgments
against them touching
all their wickedness, who have forsaken me, and have
burned incense unto other gods, and worshipped the works of their own hands.
17 Thou therefore
gird up thy loins, and arise, and speak unto them all that I command thee: be not dismayed at their
faces, lest I confound thee before them.
18 For, behold, I
have made thee this day a defenced city, and an iron pillar, and brasen
walls against the whole land,
against the kings
of Judah, against
the princes thereof, against
the priests thereof,
and against the people
of the land.
19 And they shall fight against thee; but they shall not prevail against
thee; for I am with thee,
saith the LORD, to deliver thee.
2 Moreover the word of the LORD came to me, saying,
2 Go and cry in the ears of Jerusalem, saying, Thus saith the
LORD; I remember thee, the kindness of thy youth,
the love of thine espousals, when thou wentest after me in the wilderness, in a
land that was not sown.
3 Israel was holiness unto the LORD, and the firstfruits of his increase:
all that devour him shall
offend; evil shall come upon them, saith the LORD.
4 Hear ye the word of the LORD, O house of Jacob, and all the families
of the house of Israel:
5 Thus saith the LORD, What iniquity have your fathers
found in me, that they are gone far from me, and have
walked after vanity, and are become vain?
6 Neither said
they, Where is the LORD that brought us up out of
the land of Egypt, that led us through
the wilderness, through
a land of deserts and of pits, through a land of drought, and of
the shadow of death, through a land that no man passed through, and where no
man dwelt?
7 And I brought you
into a plentiful country, to eat the
fruit thereof and the goodness thereof; but when ye entered, ye defiled my land, and made mine heritage an abomination.
8 The priests said
not, Where is the LORD? and they that handle the
law knew me not: the pastors also transgressed against
me, and the prophets prophesied by Baal, and walked after
things that do not profit.
9 Wherefore I will yet plead with you, saith the
LORD,
and with your children's
children will I plead.
10 For pass over the isles of Chittim, and see; and send unto Kedar, and consider diligently, and see if there
be such a thing.
11 Hath a nation changed
their gods, which are yet no gods? but my people
have changed their glory for that which doth not profit.
12 Be astonished, O ye heavens,
at this, and be horribly
afraid, be ye very
desolate, saith the LORD.
13 For my people
have committed two evils; they have forsaken me the fountain of living waters,
and hewed them out cisterns, broken cisterns, that can hold no water.
14 Is Israel
a servant? is he a homeborn slave?
why is he spoiled?
15 The young lions roared
upon him, and yelled, and they made his land waste:
his cities are burned without inhabitant.
16 Also the children of Noph and Tahapanes have broken the crown of thy
head.
17 Hast thou not procured
this unto thyself,
in that thou hast forsaken
the LORD thy God, when he led thee by
the way?
18 And now what hast
thou to do in the way of Egypt, to drink the waters of Sihor? or what hast thou to do in the way of Assyria,
to drink the waters of the
river?
19 Thine own wickedness shall correct thee,
and thy backslidings shall reprove thee:
know therefore and see that it is an evil thing and bitter, that thou hast
forsaken the LORD thy God, and that
my fear is not in thee, saith the Lord GOD of hosts.
20 For of old time I have
broken thy yoke, and burst thy bands; and thou saidst, I will not transgress; when upon every high
hill and under every green tree thou wanderest, playing the harlot.
21 Yet I had planted
thee a noble vine, wholly
a right seed: how then art thou turned into the degenerate plant of
a strange vine unto me?
22 For though thou wash thee with nitre, and take thee much soap, yet thine iniquity is marked before me, saith
the Lord GOD.
23 How canst thou say, I am not polluted, I have not gone after
Baalim? see thy way in the valley, know what thou
hast done: thou art a swift dromedary traversing her ways;
24 A wild ass used to the wilderness, that snuffeth up the wind at her pleasure;
in her occasion who can turn her away? all they that seek her will not weary
themselves; in her month they shall find her.
25 Withhold thy foot
from being unshod, and thy throat from thirst: but thou saidst, There
is no hope: no; for I have loved strangers, and after them will I go.
26 As the thief is ashamed when he is found, so is the house of Israel ashamed; they, their kings, their princes,
and their priests, and their prophets.
27 Saying to a stock,
Thou art my father; and to a stone, Thou hast brought
me forth: for they have turned their back unto me, and not their face:
but in the time of their trouble they will say, Arise, and save us.
28 But where
are thy gods that thou hast made thee? let them arise,
if they can save thee in the time of thy trouble: for according to the number
of thy cities are thy gods, O
Judah.
29 Wherefore will ye plead with me? ye all have transgressed against me, saith the LORD.
30 In vain have I smitten your children; they received no correction: your own
sword hath devoured your prophets, like a destroying lion.
31 O generation, see ye the word of the
LORD. Have I been a wilderness unto Israel? a land of darkness?
wherefore say my people, We are lords; we will come no more unto thee?
32 Can a maid forget
her ornaments, or a bride
her attire? yet my people
have forgotten me days without number.
33 Why trimmest
thou thy way to seek love? therefore hast thou also taught
the wicked ones thy ways.
34 Also in thy skirts
is found the blood of the souls of the poor innocents: I have not found it by secret search, but upon all these.
35 Yet thou sayest, Because
I am innocent, surely his anger shall turn from me.
Behold, I will plead with thee, because
thou sayest, I have not
sinned.
36 Why gaddest
thou about so much to change thy way? thou also shalt be
ashamed of Egypt, as thou wast ashamed of Assyria.
37 Yea, thou shalt go forth from him, and thine hands upon thine head: for the
LORD hath rejected thy confidences, and thou shalt not
prosper in them.
Psalm
119.145 I cried with my whole heart; hear me, O LORD: I will keep thy statutes.
146 I cried unto thee; save me, and I shall keep thy
testimonies.
147 I prevented
the dawning of the morning,
and cried: I hoped in thy word.
148 Mine eyes prevent the night watches,
that I might meditate in thy word.
149 Hear my voice according unto thy lovingkindness: O LORD, quicken me according
to thy judgment.
150 They draw nigh that follow after mischief: they are far from thy law.
151 Thou art near, O LORD; and all thy commandments are truth.
152 Concerning thy testimonies, I have known of old that thou hast founded them for ever.
153 Consider mine affliction, and deliver me: for I do not forget thy law.
154 Plead my cause, and deliver me: quicken me according to thy word.
155 Salvation is far from the wicked:
for they seek not thy
statutes.
156 Great are thy tender
mercies, O LORD: quicken
me according to thy
judgments.
157 Many are my persecutors and mine enemies;
yet do I not decline
from thy testimonies.
158 I beheld
the transgressors, and was grieved;
because they kept not thy word.
159 Consider how I love thy precepts: quicken me, O LORD, according
to thy lovingkindness.
160 Thy word is true from the beginning: and every one of thy righteous
judgments endureth for ever.
161 Princes have persecuted me without a cause: but my heart standeth in awe of thy word.
162 I rejoice
at thy word, as one that findeth
great spoil.
163 I hate and abhor lying: but thy law do I love.
164 Seven times
a day do I praise
thee because of thy righteous
judgments.
165 Great peace
have they which love thy law: and nothing shall offend them.
166 LORD, I have hoped for thy salvation, and done thy commandments.
167 My soul hath kept thy testimonies; and I love them exceedingly.
168 I have kept thy precepts and thy testimonies: for all my ways are before
thee.
169 Let my cry come near before thee, O LORD: give me understanding according to thy word.
170 Let my supplication come before thee:
deliver me according to thy word.
171 My lips shall utter praise, when thou hast taught me thy statutes.
172 My tongue
shall speak of thy word: for all thy commandments are righteousness.
173 Let thine hand help me; for I have chosen thy precepts.
174 I have longed for thy salvation, O LORD; and thy law is my delight.
175 Let my soul live,
and it shall praise thee; and let thy judgments help me.
176 I have gone astray
like a lost sheep; seek thy servant;
for I do not forget thy commandments.
Look upon my suffering and rescue me, for I have not forgotten
your law. Defend my cause and redeem me; preserve my life according to your
promise. Salvation is far from the wicked, for they do not seek your decrees.

defeated again.

Reading and Meditation on the Word of God
Do these daily readings, and by the end of one year you will have read the
entire Bible.
November 3 1 Timothy
5.1-22 / Jeremiah
1-2 / Psalm 119.145-176
1 Timothy
5
Rebuke not an elder, but intreat him as a father; and the younger
men as brethren;
2 The elder
women as mothers;
the younger as sisters, with all purity.
11 But the younger widows
refuse: for when they have begun to wax wanton against Christ, they will marry;
23 How canst thou say, I am not polluted, I have not gone after
Baalim? see thy way in the valley, know what thou
hast done: thou art a swift dromedary traversing her ways;
24 A wild ass used to the wilderness, that snuffeth up the wind at her pleasure;
in her occasion who can turn her away? all they that seek her will not weary
themselves; in her month they shall find her.
155 Salvation is far from the wicked:
for they seek not thy
statutes.
156 Great are thy tender
mercies, O LORD: quicken
me according to thy
judgments.
157 Many are my persecutors and mine enemies;
yet do I not decline
from thy testimonies.
158 I beheld
the transgressors, and was grieved;
because they kept not thy word.
176 I have gone astray
like a lost sheep; seek thy servant;
for I do not forget thy commandments.
