Your Identity as a Son or
Daughter!
By Riqui Ricón*
And he came near, and kissed him: and he smelled
the smell of his raiment,
and blessed him, and said, See, the smell of my son is as the smell of a
field which the Lord hath blessed: Therefore God give thee of the dew of
heaven, and the fatness of the earth, and plenty of corn and wine: Let people
serve thee, and nations bow down to thee: be lord over thy brethren, and let
thy mother's sons bow down to thee: cursed be every one that curseth thee, and
blessed be he that blesseth thee. (Genesis 27:27-29, KJV)
Today's readings are extremely interesting
and shed light on the great love with which God loves you. Let's start with the quote above, which represents the blessing Isaac gave to Jacob,
which is the very same blessing of
Abraham.
What does it have to do with you? A lot!
Christ hath redeemed us from the
curse of the law, being made a curse for us: (for it is written, Cursed is every one
that hangeth on a tree:) That the
blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through Jesus Christ; that we
might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith... And if ye be Christ's,
then are ye Abraham's seed, and heirs
according to the promise. (Galatians 3:13-14,
29, KJV)
Rest assured that you have been redeemed
from every curse of the law—that
is: poverty, sickness, tribulation, defeat, shame, etc. And now, in Christ
Jesus, the blessing of Abraham is yours by bloodright, for you are Abraham's
seed and an heir according to the promise.
That is what the Bible says!
What promise is it referring to? The promise
of the Spirit. When did God promise the Spirit?
He did so when He promised that He would make a New
Covenant with you, established upon better promises.
Behold, the days come, saith the Lord, that I will make a new covenant
with the house of Israel, and
with the house of Judah: Not according to the covenant
that I made with their fathers in
the day that I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt;
which my covenant they brake, although I was an husband unto them, saith the
Lord: But this shall be the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel; After those days, saith the Lord, I will
put my law in their inward
parts, and write it in their hearts;
and will be their God, and they shall be my people. And they shall
teach no more every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, Know
the Lord: for they shall all know me, from the least of them unto the greatest
of them, saith the Lord: for I will forgive their iniquity, and I will remember
their sin no more. (Jeremiah 31:31-34, KJV)
A
new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit
will I put within you: and I will
take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I give you an heart of flesh.
And I will put my spirit within
you, and cause you to walk in my statutes, and ye shall keep my
judgments, and do them. (Ezekiel 36:26-27, KJV)
After the same manner also he took the cup, when he had supped, saying,
This cup is the new testament in my blood. (1
Corinthians 11:25a, KJV)
So, by the Blood of Jesus, you were
justified, forgiven of all your sins, and sanctified with the express purpose,
on God's part, of being created anew, receiving Eternal Life, and being made a Child of God—which
legally makes you an heir to the Blessing.
The Lord hear thee in the day of
trouble; the name of the God of Jacob defend thee; Send thee help from the
sanctuary, and strengthen thee out of Zion; Remember all thy offerings, and
accept thy burnt sacrifice; Selah. Grant thee according to thine own heart, and
fulfil all thy counsel. We will rejoice in thy salvation, and in the name of our God we will set up our banners:
the Lord fulfil all thy petitions. (Psalm
20:1-5, KJV)
Because of what Jesus did on the cross out of love for you, you have every right to be heard by your
heavenly Father in the day of
trouble. Rest assured that He will
send you help from the sanctuary and fulfill all your requests, out of love for
you and His Word.
Salvation belongeth unto the Lord: thy blessing is upon thy people.
(Psalm 3:8, KJV)
Never again will the curse be upon your life! The Blessing
of the Lord is yours by right!
The blessing
of the Lord, it maketh rich, and he addeth
no sorrow with it.
(Proverbs 10:22, KJV)
If you can believe God's Word—well, for the one who believes
God, ALL things are possible.
I will arise and go to my father,
and will say unto him, Father, I have sinned against heaven, and before
thee, And am no more worthy to be called
thy son: make me as one of thy
hired servants. And he arose, and came to his father.
But when he was yet a great way off, his father saw him, and
had compassion, and ran, and fell on his neck,
and kissed him. And the son said unto him, Father,
I have sinned against heaven, and in thy sight, and am no more worthy to be
called thy son. But the father
said to his servants, Bring forth the best robe,
and put it on him; and put a ring on his hand, and shoes on his feet:
And bring hither the fatted calf, and
kill it; and let us eat, and be merry: For this my son was dead, and is alive
again; he was lost, and is found. And they began to be merry... And he was
angry, and would not go in: therefore came his father out, and intreated him.
And he answering said to his father, Lo, these many years do I serve thee, neither transgressed I at
any time thy commandment: and yet thou never gavest me a kid, that I might make
merry with my friends: But as soon as this thy son was come, which hath
devoured thy living with harlots, thou hast
killed for him the fatted calf. And he said unto him, Son, thou art ever with me, and all that I have is
thine. It was meet that we should make merry, and be glad: for this thy brother
was dead, and is alive again; and was lost, and is
found. (Luke 15:18-24, 28-32, KJV)
God loves you so much that He preferred to give up His own Son rather
than lose you.
For God so loved
the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not
perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to
condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. (John
3:16-17, KJV)
He doesn't need servants; He has millions!
And you, my beloved, are— according to Scripture—a Born Again Child of God, not
of corruptible seed but of incorruptible, by the Word of God which lives
and abides forever.
Therefore, know and see yourself as blessed and loved by your Father.
Don't be like the sons in the parable; instead, receive your identity as a
beloved Child of God; receive the Love and the Blessing that Christ Jesus
bought for you.
Let’s pray out loud:
Beloved heavenly Father,
how great and wonderful is Your love for me! I have no way to repay You and can only
thank You. Thank You, thank You so much! Lord Jesus, truly, far more abundantly
than I can ask or understand, such has been the redemption of my life through
the New Covenant in Your Blood.
Today I want to honor this New Covenant by declaring with all certainty
that You, Lord of hosts, my God and Father, hear me in the day of
trouble; Your name, O God of Jacob, defends me. Send me help from the
sanctuary, and sustain me from Zion. Remember all my offerings, and accept my
sacrifice.
Give me according to the desire of Your
heart, and fulfill all my counsel. I will rejoice in Your salvation, and I will
lift up a banner in Your name, O God; grant me, Lord, all my petitions. Now I know that You, Lord, save Your anointed;
You will hear me from Your holy heaven with the saving strength of Your
right hand. Some trust in chariots, and some in horses: but I will remember the
name of the Lord my God. They are brought down and fallen: but I am risen, and
stand upright. Save, Lord; You, my King, hear me in the day that I call.
Therefore, today I receive and declare Your
prompt help. I am healed! I am free! I am prosperous! I receive the love, joy,
and peace that my heavenly Father bought for me at the price
of the New Covenant in the Blood
of His Son Jesus. I am blessed! In the name of Jesus. Amen.
Important Note:
How do I become a Child of God? How do I establish a relationship with the
Almighty?
Just say the following prayer
aloud, putting all your attention
and heart into what you are saying to God:
Lord Jesus, I believe that You are the Son of
God. That You came into this world, born
of the virgin Mary, to pay for all my sins, and I have
been a sinner. Therefore, today I say that I accept. I accept Your
sacrifice on the cross! I accept Your precious
Blood shed to the last drop out of love for me! I open my
heart to You and invite You in
because I want, Lord Jesus, that from today and forever You be my only and sufficient Savior, my
God, my King, and my Lord.
Thank You, Almighty God, because with this
simple prayer and profession of faith I have passed from death to Life, I have been transferred from darkness
to Your marvelous Light. Today I have been Born Again! God, now I am Your
Child! Now You are my Father! I will never be alone again! I will never live
defeated again. In the name of Jesus. Amen.
Three Recommendations:
What just happened by you recognizing Jesus Christ as the Lord and
Savior of your life, according
to God's Word, is that you have been Born Again. No longer
as an ordinary human being, subject to the law of sin and death, but now as a
legitimate and authentic Child of God, Born Again, exactly like Jesus Christ, who is now your Older Brother. Therefore,
I give you these three, very important, recommendations:
1.
Pray. Praying is talking with God. So, find a quiet
place where you can begin talking to Him about everything. Do it out loud, and you will notice
how God always responds to your heart.
2.
Read and meditate
on the Word of God. The Bible
is the Word of God, so
get a Bible and start reading and meditating on it. How do you begin? It’s very simple. Depending on the day,
look up the reading program “The
Bible in One Year” and do the corresponding readings. You can get this program at: Through The Bible In One Year (palabradehonor.org). You will notice
that the program is set up so you can print it as a booklet.
3.
In prayer with God, your Father, look for and join a
Christian church or congregation where the Word of God is taught based
on the Good News, which are
the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Luke
15 Then drew near unto him all the publicans and sinners for to hear
him.
2 And the Pharisees and scribes murmured, saying, This man receiveth sinners, and eateth with them.
3
And he spake
this parable unto them, saying,
4 What man of you, having an hundred sheep, if he lose one of them, doth not leave the ninety and nine in the
wilderness, and go after that which is lost, until he find it?
5 And when he hath found it, he layeth it on his shoulders, rejoicing.
6 And when he cometh home, he calleth together his friends and neighbours, saying unto them, Rejoice
with me; for I have found my sheep which was lost.
7 I say unto you, that likewise
joy shall be in heaven over one sinner that repenteth, more than over ninety and
nine just persons, which need no repentance.
8 Either what woman having
ten pieces of silver, if she lose one piece, doth not light a candle, and sweep the house,
and seek diligently till she find it?
9 And when she hath
found it, she calleth her friends and her neighbours together, saying,
Rejoice with me; for I have found
the piece which I had lost.
10 Likewise, I say unto you, there is joy in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner that repenteth.
11 And he said, A certain man had two sons:
12 And the younger of them said to his father, Father,
give me the portion of goods that falleth to me. And he
divided unto them his living.
13 And not many days after the younger son gathered all together, and took
his journey into a far country, and there wasted his substance with riotous living.
14 And when he had spent all, there arose
a mighty famine
in that land;
and he began to be in want.
15 And he went and joined himself
to a citizen of that country; and he sent him
into his fields to feed swine.
16 And he would fain have filled
his belly with the husks
that the swine
did eat: and no man gave unto
him.
17 And when he came to himself,
he said, How many hired
servants of my father's have bread enough and to
spare, and I perish with hunger!
18 I will arise and go to my father,
and will say unto him, Father, I have sinned against heaven, and before thee,
19 And am no more worthy to be called
thy son: make me as one of thy hired servants.
20 And he arose, and came to his father.
But when he was yet a great way off, his father saw him, and had
compassion, and ran, and fell on his neck, and kissed him.
21 And the son said unto him, Father, I have sinned against heaven,
and in thy sight, and am no more worthy to be called thy son.
22 But the father said to his servants, Bring forth the best robe, and put it on him; and put a ring on his hand, and
shoes on his feet:
23 And bring hither the fatted calf, and kill it; and let us eat, and be merry:
24 For this my son was dead, and is alive again; he was lost, and is found.
And they began to be merry.
25 Now his elder son was in the field: and as he came and drew nigh to the
house, he heard musick and dancing.
26 And he called one of the servants, and asked what these things
meant.
27 And he said unto him, Thy brother is come; and thy father
hath killed the fatted calf, because he hath received
him safe and sound.
28 And he was angry, and would not go in: therefore came his father out, and intreated him.
29 And he answering said to his father, Lo, these many years do I serve thee,
neither transgressed I at any time thy commandment: and yet thou never gavest
me a kid, that I might make merry with my friends:
30 But as soon as this thy son was come, which hath devoured
thy living with harlots, thou hast killed for him the
fatted calf.
31 And he said unto him, Son, thou art ever with me, and all that I have is
thine.
32 It was meet that we should make merry, and be glad: for this thy brother
was dead, and is alive again; and was lost, and is found.
Genesis
27 And it came to pass, that when Isaac was old, and his eyes were dim, so that he could not see, he called Esau his
eldest son, and said unto him, My
son: and he said unto him, Behold, here am I.
2 And he said, Behold
now, I am old, I know not the day of my death:
3 Now therefore
take, I pray thee, thy weapons, thy quiver and thy bow, and
go out to the field, and take me some venison;
4 And make me savoury
meat, such as I love,
and bring it to me, that I may eat; that my soul may bless thee before I
die.
5 And Rebekah
heard when Isaac spake to Esau his son. And Esau went to the field to hunt for venison, and to
bring it.
6 And Rebekah
spake unto Jacob her son, saying, Behold,
I heard thy father
speak unto Esau thy brother, saying,
7 Bring me venison, and make me savoury meat, that I may eat, and bless
thee before the LORD before my death.
8 Now therefore, my son, obey my voice according to that which I command thee.
9 Go now to the flock, and fetch me from thence
two good kids of the goats;
and I will make them savoury meat for thy father, such as he loveth:
10 And thou shalt bring
it to thy father, that he may eat, and that he may bless thee before his death.
11 And Jacob said to Rebekah his mother, Behold,
Esau my brother is a hairy
man, and I am a smooth man:
12 My father
peradventure will feel me, and I shall seem to him as a deceiver; and I shall bring a curse upon
me, and not a blessing.
13 And his mother said unto him, Upon me be thy curse, my son: only obey my voice, and go fetch me them.
14 And he went, and fetched, and brought them to his mother: and his mother made savoury meat, such as his
father loved.
15 And Rebekah
took goodly raiment
of her eldest son Esau, which were with
her in the house, and put them upon Jacob her younger son:
16 And she put the skins of the kids of the goats upon his hands,
and upon the smooth of his neck:
17 And she gave the savoury meat and the bread, which she had prepared,
into the hand of her son Jacob.
18 And he came unto his father,
and said, My father: and he said,
Here am I; who art thou, my son?
19 And Jacob said
unto his father, I am Esau thy first born; I have done according as thou badest me: arise,
I pray thee, sit and eat of my venison,
that thy soul may bless me.
20 And Isaac said unto his son, How is it that thou hast found it so quickly,
my son? And he said, Because the LORD thy God brought
it to me.
21 And Isaac said unto Jacob, Come near, I pray thee,
that I may feel thee,
my son, whether thou be my very son Esau or not.
22 And Jacob went near unto Isaac his father;
and he felt him, and said, The voice is Jacob's voice, but the hands
are the hands of Esau.
23 And he discerned him not, because
his hands were hairy, as his brother Esau's hands: so he blessed him.
24 And he said, Art thou my very son Esau? And he said,
I am.
25 And he said, Bring
it near to me, and I will eat of my son's venison, that my
soul may bless thee. And he brought it near to him, and he did eat: and he
brought him wine and he drank.
26 And his father Isaac said unto him, Come near now, and kiss me, my son.
27 And he came near,
and kissed him: and he smelled the smell of his raiment, and blessed him, and said, See,
the smell of my son is as the smell of a field which the LORD hath blessed:
28 Therefore God give thee of the dew of heaven, and the fatness
of the earth, and plenty of corn and wine:
29 Let people serve
thee, and nations bow down to thee: be lord over thy brethren, and let thy mother's sons bow down to thee: cursed be every one that curseth thee, and blessed be he
that blesseth thee.
30 And it came to
pass, as soon as Isaac had made an end of blessing Jacob, and Jacob was yet scarce gone out from the presence
of Isaac his father, that Esau his brother came in from his
hunting.
31 And he also had
made savoury meat, and brought it unto his father, and said unto his father,
Let my father arise, and eat of his son's venison, that thy
soul may bless me.
32 And Isaac his father
said unto him, Who art thou? And he said,
I am thy son, thy firstborn
Esau.
33 And Isaac trembled very exceedingly, and said, Who? where is he that hath
taken venison, and brought it me, and I have eaten of all before thou camest,
and have blessed him? yea, and he shall be blessed.
34 And when Esau
heard the words of his father, he cried with a great and exceeding bitter
cry, and said unto his father, Bless me, even me also, O my father.
35 And he said, Thy brother came with subtilty,
and hath taken away thy blessing.
36 And he said, Is
not he rightly named Jacob? for he hath supplanted me these two times: he took away my birthright; and, behold, now he hath taken
away my blessing. And he said, Hast thou not reserved a blessing for me?
37 And Isaac answered and said unto Esau, Behold,
I have made him thy lord,
and all his brethren have I given to him for servants; and with corn and wine
have I sustained him: and what shall I do now unto thee, my son?
38 And Esau said unto his father,
Hast thou but one blessing,
my father? bless me, even me also, O my father. And
Esau lifted up his voice, and wept.
39 And Isaac his father answered and said unto him, Behold,
thy dwelling shall be the fatness of the earth, and of
the dew of heaven from above;
40 And by thy sword
shalt thou live, and shalt serve thy brother; and it shall come to pass when thou shalt have
the dominion, that thou shalt break his yoke from off thy neck.
41 And Esau hated Jacob
because of the blessing wherewith his father blessed him: and Esau said in his heart,
The days of mourning for my father are at hand; then will I slay my brother
Jacob.
42 And these words
of Esau her elder son were told to Rebekah: and she sent and called
Jacob her younger
son, and said unto him, Behold, thy brother Esau, as touching thee, doth comfort
himself, purposing to kill thee.
43 Now therefore, my son, obey my voice;
arise, flee thou to Laban my brother to Haran;
44 And tarry with him a few days, until
thy brother's fury turn away;
45 Until thy brother's anger turn away from thee, and he forget that which
thou hast done to him: then I will send, and fetch thee from thence: why should
I be deprived also of you both in one day?

prompt help.

Reading and Meditation on the Word of God
Do these daily readings, and by the end of one year you will have read the
entire Bible.

14 And when he had spent all, there arose
a mighty famine
in that land;
and he began to be in want.
3 Now therefore
take, I pray thee, thy weapons, thy quiver and thy bow, and
go out to the field, and take me some venison;
4 And make me savoury
meat, such as I love,
and bring it to me, that I may eat; that my soul may bless thee before I
die.
5 And Rebekah
heard when Isaac spake to Esau his son. And Esau went to the field to hunt for venison, and to
bring it.
6 And Rebekah
spake unto Jacob her son, saying, Behold,
I heard thy father
speak unto Esau thy brother, saying,
7 Bring me venison, and make me savoury meat, that I may eat, and bless
thee before the LORD before my death.
8 Now therefore, my son, obey my voice according to that which I command thee.
9 Go now to the flock, and fetch me from thence
two good kids of the goats;
and I will make them savoury meat for thy father, such as he loveth:
22 And Jacob went near unto Isaac his father;
and he felt him, and said, The voice is Jacob's voice, but the hands
are the hands of Esau.
39 And Isaac his father answered and said unto him, Behold,
thy dwelling shall be the fatness of the earth, and of
the dew of heaven from above;
43 Now therefore, my son, obey my voice;
arise, flee thou to Laban my brother to Haran;
44 And tarry with him a few days, until
thy brother's fury turn away;
45 Until thy brother's anger turn away from thee, and he forget that which
thou hast done to him: then I will send, and fetch thee from thence: why should
I be deprived also of you both in one day?
Psalm
20 The LORD hear thee in the day of trouble;
the name of the God of Jacob defend thee;
2 Send thee help from the sanctuary, and strengthen thee out of
Zion;
3 Remember all thy offerings, and accept thy burnt sacrifice; Selah.
4 Grant thee according to thine own heart, and fulfil all thy counsel.
5 We will rejoice in thy salvation, and in the name of our God we will set up our banners: the LORD fulfil all thy petitions.
6 Now know I that the LORD saveth his anointed; he will hear him from his holy heaven with the saving strength of
his right hand.
7 Some trust in chariots,
and some in horses: but we will remember the name
of the LORD our God.
8 They are brought down and fallen:
but we are risen, and stand upright.
9 Save, LORD: let the king hear us when we call.
