What Is Salvation Lacking?

What Is Your Part in Redemption?

Believe God, Believing His Word!

By Riqui Ricón*

When Jesus had tasted it, he said, “It is finished!” Then he bowed his head and

gave up his spirit. (John 19:30 NIV)

Oh, what amazing Love God has for you! What a wonderful Plan is the Plan of Redemption for your life through His Own Life! It is finished! Everything has been accomplished! These were the last words Jesus spoke on this earth, referring to the culmination of that Plan of Love represented by the sacrifice of the only begotten Son of God.

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. (John 3:16-17 KJV)

God loves you so much that He preferred to give up His own Son rather than lose you!

Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new. (2 Corinthians 5:17 KJV)

The amazing thing about the Love God has for you is that it goes far beyond the simple affection a Creator might have for His creature, for to solve the problem of sin and the corruption of the human heart, He made you Born Again through the death and resurrection of His own Son, Jesus.

See what great love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are! The reason the world does not know us is that it did not know him. (1 John 3:1 NIV)

But now, you also are His own Child.

For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure.

(Philippians 2:13 KJV)

The impressively beautiful thing about God’s Love is that you did NOTHING for your salvation, and now, as a Born Again Child of God, He always helps you, by His Grace, to fulfill His good Will in your life, which is pleasing and perfect.

At the same time, God’s hand was on the people in the land of Judah, giving them a single heart to obey the orders of the king and his officials, who were following the word of the Lord. (2 Chronicles 30:12 NLT)

It is God who now gives you a heart to obey!

A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you an heart of flesh. And I will put my spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes, and ye shall keep my judgments, and do them. (Ezekiel 36:26–27 KJV)

With the New Covenant in the Blood of Jesus, you now have a New Heart in which God Himself has written His Word, the Bible.

Behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel, and with the house of Judah: Not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day that I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt; which my covenant they brake, although I was an husband unto them, saith the LORD: But this shall be the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel; After those days, saith the LORD, I will put my law in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts; and will be their God, and they shall be my people. And they shall teach no more every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, Know the LORD: for they shall all know me, from the least of them unto the greatest of them, saith the LORD: for I will forgive their iniquity, and I will remember their sin no more. (Jeremiah 31:31– 34 KJV)

This is what Jesus meant when He declared, “It is finished!” Everything has

been accomplished!

Indeed, the problem of eternal death that sin produced was totally resolved with the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, and now you have received the inheritance that only a Child of God can enjoy: Eternal Life!

For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. (Romans 6:23, KJV)

Because of all this, you can now trust totally and absolutely in your Heavenly Father, to depend on His Love and Grace to live the Full and Abundant Life that Jesus acquired for you.

Teach me thy way, O LORD; I will walk in thy truth: unite my heart to fear thy name. (Psalm 86:11 KJV)

And it is precisely believing God, believing His Word, that enables and empowers you to live that amazing Life God has planned for you.

The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly. (John 10:10 KJV)

An abundant Life!

An abundant Life is a Life full of joy and gladness; and these are only real and lasting when they are the result of having the certainty and conviction that EVERYTHING in your Life is well and will be better every day.

Lord of hosts, blessed is the man who trusts in you. (Psalm 84:12 KJV)

I have told you this so that my joy may be in you and that your joy may be complete. (John 15:11 NIV)

Oh, what joy for those who trust in the Lord, who do not turn to the proud or to those who worship false gods. (Psalm 40:4 NLT)

But I trust in your unfailing love; my heart rejoices in your salvation. (Psalm 13:5 NIV)

Since there can be no greater certainty than the Truth, and the Truth is the Word of God, then genuine joy and lasting gladness can only come from believing God, believing His Word.

The Israelites who were present in Jerusalem celebrated the Festival of Unleavened Bread for seven days with great joy, while the Levites and priests praised the Lord every day with resounding instruments. (2 Chronicles 30:21 NLT)

This episode in the Bible refers to a very critical moment in the history of the people of Israel. Because of their unbelief and disobedience to the Word of God, they were defeated, scattered, and humiliated by their enemies. When a good king, King Hezekiah, encouraged them to return to the Lord and celebrate the Passover, then an amazing miracle happened: Apparently, the reality in which they lived had NOT changed at all, yet joy and gladness flowed genuinely by FAITH, having believed the Word of God. And with great joy they sang to the Lord with all their strength.

Joy and gladness are a gift of God’s Grace in response to your faith, in response

to having believed God, believing His Word!

Thou hast turned for me my mourning into dancing: thou hast put off my sackcloth, and girded me with gladness; To the end that my glory may sing praise to thee, and not be silent. O LORD my God, I will give thanks unto thee for ever. (Psalm 30:11–12 KJV)

To appoint unto them that mourn in Zion, to give unto them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they might be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the LORD, that he might be glorified. (Isaiah 61:3 KJV)

Whatever problem, illness, or affliction you are facing today, convince yourself to put ALL your trust in the Lord and in His Word, for only then will you

experience the joy, gladness, and peace of always coming out more than a conqueror through Him who loved you: Christ Jesus.

Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us. For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord. (Romans 8:37–39 KJV)

So, believe it once and for all: It is finished!

What is Salvation lacking? What is your part in Redemption? Believe God, believing His Word!

Let us pray aloud:

Beloved Heavenly Father, now I understand that the Sacrifice of Christ Jesus was complete, perfect, and finished. That’s why I want to thank You for such great Love, that while I was dead in trespasses and sins You gave me Life; and not just any kind of life, but the Eternal Life that only a Child of Yours can have. Beloved Jesus, thank You for transferring me from darkness to Your marvelous Light. Thank You for destroying my old nature sold to sin and giving me a totally New Life: Eternal Life! The Life of a Born Again Child of God! Lord, today I put all my trust in Your Word. I am in Christ! Therefore, I am a new creation; old things have passed away, behold, ALL things have become new. Today I receive the joy and gladness that all those who trust in You receive. You will keep me in perfect Peace, for my thoughts remain on You because I have decided to put Your Word in my mind, mouth, and heart. Therefore, even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil because You, Jesus, are with me. Because I have set my love upon You, Jesus, You will deliver me; You will set me on high, because I have known Your name. I will call upon You, and You will answer me; You will be with me in trouble; You will deliver me and honor me. With long life You will satisfy me and show me Your salvation. So, Abba! Father! I am Yours, and in Christ Jesus I have already overcome, for greater are You, Holy Spirit, who lives in me and with me, than he who is in the world. Father, all and every one of Your Promises are in me, yes and amen! I submit to You, my God and Father, I submit to Your Word, I resist Satan and he has to flee from my life. I do not receive doubt, nor

fear, nor sickness, nor poverty, nor anguish, nor depression. I am healed! I am free! I am prosperous! I am blessed! In the name of Jesus. Amen.

Important Note:

How do I become a Child of God? How do I establish a relationship with the Almighty?

Just say the following prayer aloud, putting all your attention and heart into what you are saying to God:

Lord Jesus, I believe that You are the Son of God. That You came into this world, born of the virgin Mary, to pay for all my sins, and I have been a sinner. Therefore, today I say that I accept. I accept Your sacrifice on the cross! I accept Your precious Blood shed to the last drop out of love for me! I open my heart to You and invite You in because I want, Lord Jesus, that from today and forever You be my only and sufficient Savior, my God, my King, and my Lord.

Thank You, Almighty God, because with this simple prayer and profession of faith I have passed from death to Life, I have been transferred from darkness to Your marvelous Light. Today I have been Born Again! God, now I am Your Child! Now You are my Father! I will never be alone again! I will never live defeated again. In the name of Jesus. Amen.

Three Recommendations:

What just happened by you recognizing Jesus Christ as the Lord and Savior of your life, according to God's Word, is that you have been Born Again. No longer as an ordinary human being, subject to the law of sin and death, but now as a legitimate and authentic Child of God, Born Again, exactly like Jesus Christ, who is now your Older Brother. Therefore, I give you these three, very important, recommendations:

1.    Pray. Praying is talking with God. So, find a quiet place where you can begin talking to Him about everything. Do it out loud, and you will notice how God always responds to your heart.

2.    Read and meditate on the Word of God. The Bible is the Word of God, so

get a Bible and start reading and meditating on it. How do you begin? It’s

very simple. Depending on the day, look up the reading program “The Bible in One Year” and do the corresponding readings. You can get this program at: Through The Bible In One Year (palabradehonor.org). You will notice that the program is set up so you can print it as a booklet.

3.    In prayer with God, your Father, look for and join a Christian church or congregation where the Word of God is taught based on the Good News, which are the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Reading and Meditation on the Word of God

Do these daily readings, and by the end of one year you will have read the entire Bible.

September 19        John 19:17–42    /    2 Chronicles 30    /    Psalm 86

17 Carrying his own cross, he went out to the place of the Skull (which in Aramaic is called Golgotha). 18 There they crucified him, and with him two others—one on each side and Jesus in the middle.

19 Pilate had a notice prepared and fastened to the cross. It read: JESUS OF NAZARETH, THE KING OF THE JEWS. 20 Many of the Jews read this sign, for the place where Jesus was crucified was near the city, and the sign was written in Aramaic, Latin and Greek. 21 The chief priests of the Jews protested to Pilate, “Do not write ‘The King of the Jews,’ but that this man claimed to be king of the Jews.”

22 Pilate answered, “What I have written, I have written.”

23 When the soldiers crucified Jesus, they took his clothes, dividing them into four shares, one for each of them, with the undergarment remaining. This garment was seamless, woven in one piece from top to bottom.

24 “Let’s not tear it,” they said to one another. “Let’s decide by lot who will get it.”

This happened that the scripture might be fulfilled that said,

“They divided my clothes among them and cast lots for my garment.”[a]

So this is what the soldiers did.

25 Near the cross of Jesus stood his mother, his mother’s sister, Mary the wife of Clopas, and Mary Magdalene. 26 When Jesus saw his mother there, and the disciple whom he loved standing nearby, he said to her, “Woman,[b] here is your son,” 27 and to the disciple, “Here is your mother.” From that time on, this disciple took her into his home.

The Death of Jesus

28 Later, knowing that everything had now been finished, and so that Scripture would be fulfilled, Jesus said, “I am thirsty.” 29 A jar of wine vinegar was there, so they soaked a sponge in it, put the sponge on a stalk of the hyssop plant, and lifted it to Jesus’ lips. 30 When he had received the drink, Jesus said, “It is finished.” With that, he bowed his head and gave up his spirit.

31 Now it was the day of Preparation, and the next day was to be a special Sabbath.

Because the Jewish leaders did not want the bodies left on the crosses during the Sabbath, they asked Pilate to have the legs broken and the bodies taken down. 32 The soldiers therefore came and broke the legs of the first man who had been crucified with Jesus, and then those of the other. 33 But when they came to Jesus and found that he was already dead, they did not break his legs. 34 Instead, one of the soldiers pierced Jesus’ side with a spear, bringing a sudden flow of blood and water. 35 The man who saw it has given testimony, and his testimony is true. He knows that he tells the truth, and he testifies so that you also may believe. 36 These things happened so that the scripture would be fulfilled: “Not one of his bones will be broken,”[c] 37 and, as another scripture says, “They will look on the one they have pierced.”[d]

The Burial of Jesus

38 Later, Joseph of Arimathea asked Pilate for the body of Jesus. Now Joseph was a disciple of Jesus, but secretly because he feared the Jewish leaders. With Pilate’s permission, he came and took the body away. 39 He was accompanied by Nicodemus, the man who earlier had visited Jesus at night. Nicodemus brought a mixture of myrrh and aloes, about seventy- five pounds.[e] 40 Taking Jesus’ body, the two of them wrapped it, with the spices, in strips of linen. This was in accordance with Jewish burial customs. 41 At the place where Jesus was crucified, there was a garden, and in the garden a new tomb, in which no one had ever been laid. 42 Because it was the Jewish day of Preparation and since the tomb was nearby, they laid Jesus there.

Hezekiah Purifies the Temple

29 Hezekiah was twenty-five years old when he became king, and he reigned in Jerusalem twenty-nine years. His mother’s name was Abijah daughter of Zechariah. 2 He did what was right in the eyes of the LORD, just as his father David had done.

3 In the first month of the first year of his reign, he opened the doors of the temple of the LORD and repaired them. 4 He brought in the priests and the Levites, assembled them in the

square on the east side 5 and said: “Listen to me, Levites! Consecrate yourselves now and consecrate the temple of the LORD, the God of your ancestors. Remove all defilement from the sanctuary. 6 Our parents were unfaithful; they did evil in the eyes of the LORD our God and forsook him. They turned their faces away from the LORD’s dwelling place and turned their backs on him. 7 They also shut the doors of the portico and put out the lamps. They did not burn incense or present any burnt offerings at the sanctuary to the God of Israel. 8 Therefore, the anger of the LORD has fallen on Judah and Jerusalem; he has made them an object of dread and horror and scorn, as you can see with your own eyes. 9 This is why our fathers have fallen by the sword and why our sons and daughters and our wives are in captivity. 10 Now I intend to make a covenant with the LORD, the God of Israel, so that his fierce anger will turn away from us. 11 My sons, do not be negligent now, for the LORD has chosen you to stand before him and serve him, to minister before him and to burn incense.”

12 Then these Levites set to work: from the Kohathites,

Mahath son of Amasai and Joel son of Azariah; from the Merarites,

Kish son of Abdi and Azariah son of Jehallelel; from the Gershonites,

Joah son of Zimmah and Eden son of Joah; 13 from the descendants of Elizaphan, Shimri and Jeiel;

from the descendants of Asaph, Zechariah and Mattaniah;

14 from the descendants of Heman, Jehiel and Shimei;

from the descendants of Jeduthun, Shemaiah and Uzziel.

15 When they had assembled their fellow Levites and consecrated themselves, they went in to purify the temple of the LORD, as the king had ordered, following the word of the LORD. 16 The priests went into the sanctuary of the LORD to purify it. They brought out to the courtyard of the LORD’s temple everything unclean that they found in the temple of the LORD. The Levites took it and carried it out to the Kidron Valley. 17 They began the consecration on the first day of the first month, and by the eighth day of the month they reached the portico of the LORD. For eight more days they consecrated the temple of the LORD itself, finishing on the sixteenth day of the first month.

18 Then they went in to King Hezekiah and reported: “We have purified the entire temple of the LORD, the altar of burnt offering with all its utensils, and the table for setting out the consecrated bread, with all its articles. 19 We have prepared and consecrated all the articles that King Ahaz removed in his unfaithfulness while he was king. They are now in front of the LORD’s altar.”

20 Early the next morning King Hezekiah gathered the city officials together and went up to the temple of the LORD. 21 They brought seven bulls, seven rams, seven male lambs and seven male goats as a sin offering[a] for the kingdom, for the sanctuary and for Judah. The king commanded the priests, the descendants of Aaron, to offer these on the altar of the LORD. 22 So they slaughtered the bulls, and the priests took the blood and splashed it against the altar; next they slaughtered the rams and splashed their blood against the altar; then they slaughtered the lambs and splashed their blood against the altar. 23 The goats for the sin offering were brought before the king and the assembly, and they laid their hands on them. 24 The priests then slaughtered the goats and presented their blood on the altar for a sin offering to atone for all Israel, because the king had ordered the burnt offering and the sin offering for all Israel.

25 He stationed the Levites in the temple of the LORD with cymbals, harps and lyres in the way prescribed by David and Gad the king’s seer and Nathan the prophet; this was commanded by the LORD through his prophets. 26 So the Levites stood ready with David’s instruments, and the priests with their trumpets.

27 Hezekiah gave the order to sacrifice the burnt offering on the altar. As the offering began, singing to the LORD began also, accompanied by trumpets and the instruments of David king of Israel. 28 The whole assembly bowed in worship, while the musicians played and the trumpets sounded. All this continued until the sacrifice of the burnt offering was completed.

29 When the offerings were finished, the king and everyone present with him knelt down and worshiped. 30 King Hezekiah and his officials ordered the Levites to praise the LORD with the words of David and of Asaph the seer. So they sang praises with gladness and bowed down and worshiped.

31 Then Hezekiah said, “You have now dedicated yourselves to the LORD. Come and bring sacrifices and thank offerings to the temple of the LORD.” So the assembly brought sacrifices and thank offerings, and all whose hearts were willing brought burnt offerings.

32 The number of burnt offerings the assembly brought was seventy bulls, a hundred rams and two hundred male lambs—all of them for burnt offerings to the LORD. 33 The animals consecrated as sacrifices amounted to six hundred bulls and three thousand sheep and goats. 34 The priests, however, were too few to skin all the burnt offerings; so their relatives the Levites helped them until the task was finished and until other priests had been consecrated, for the Levites had been more conscientious in consecrating themselves than the priests had been. 35 There were burnt offerings in abundance, together with the fat of the fellowship offerings and the drink offerings that accompanied the burnt offerings.

So the service of the temple of the LORD was reestablished. 36 Hezekiah and all the people rejoiced at what God had brought about for his people, because it was done so quickly.

Psalm 85

For the director of music. Of the Sons of Korah. A psalm.

1

You, LORD, showed favor to your land; you restored the fortunes of Jacob.

2

You forgave the iniquity of your people and covered all their sins.[b]

3

You set aside all your wrath and turned from your fierce anger.

4

Restore us again, God our Savior,

and put away your displeasure toward us.

5

Will you be angry with us forever?

Will you prolong your anger through all generations?

6

Will you not revive us again, that your people may rejoice in you?

7

Show us your unfailing love, LORD, and grant us your salvation.

8

I will listen to what God the LORD says;

he promises peace to his people, his faithful servants— but let them not turn to folly.

9

Surely his salvation is near those who fear him, that his glory may dwell in our land.

10

Love and faithfulness meet together; righteousness and peace kiss each other.

11

Faithfulness springs forth from the earth, and righteousness looks down from heaven.

12

The LORD will indeed give what is good, and our land will yield its harvest.

13

Righteousness goes before him and prepares the way for his steps.
