Your identity as a
Son (Daughter)
By Riqui Ricón*
And he came near, and
kissed him: and he smelled the smell of his raiment, and blessed him, and said,
See, the smell of my son is as the smell of a field which theLord hath
blessed: Therefore God give thee of the dew of heaven, and
the fatness of the earth, and plenty of corn and wine: Let people serve thee,
and nations bow down to thee: be lord over thy brethren, and let thy mother's
sons bow down to thee: cursed be every one that curseth thee, and blessed be he
that blesseth thee. (Gen 27.27-29).
Today’s readings are
really interesting and illuminating about the great Love with which God loves
you. Let’s start with the verse above which represents the blessing Isaac gave
Jacob, and which is the very same blessing from Abraham.
What does that have
to do with you? A lot!
Christ hath redeemed
us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written,
Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree: That the blessing of Abraham might
come on the Gentiles through Jesus Christ; that we might receive the promise of
the Spirit through faith… And if ye be
Christ's, then are ye Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise. (Gal 3.13-14,
29).
According to the
Bible, which is God’s Word and does not lie, this day you can be sure that you
have been redeemed from every curse of the law, this is: poverty, disease,
tribulation, defeat, shame, etc. An now, in Jesus Christ, Abraham’s blessing is
yours by blood right, for you are Abraham’s lineage and an heir according to
the promise.
The Bible says so!
To which promise is
It refering? To the promise of the Spirit. When did God promised the Spirit? He
did it when He promised He’d make a New Pact, established under better
promises, with you.
Behold, the days
come, saith the Lord, that I
will make a new covenant with the house of Israel, and with the
house of Judah: Not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in
the day that I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt;
which my covenant they brake, although I was an husband unto them, saith
the Lord: But this
shall be the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel; After
those days, saith the Lord,
I will put my law in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts;
and will be their God, and they shall be my people. And they shall teach
no more every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, Know
the Lord: for they shall all
know me, from the least of them unto the greatest of them, saith the Lord: for I will forgive their
iniquity, and I will remember their sin no more. (Jer 31.31-34)
A new heart also will
I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you: and I will take
away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you an heart of
flesh. And I will put my
spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes, and ye shall keep my
judgments, and do them. (Ez 36.26-27).
After the same manner
also he took the cup, when he had supped, saying, this cup is the new
testament in my blood (1 Co 11.25a).
So, by Jesus’ Blood
you were justified, forgiven from all your sins and sanctified with the
specific purpose, from God, that with Jesus Christ’s RESURRECTION you’d be
created new and receive Eternal Life to be made a Child of God; which makes
you, legally, an heir of the Blessing.
The Lord hear thee in the day of
trouble; the name of the God of Jacob defend thee; Send thee help from
the sanctuary, and strengthen thee out of Zion; Remember all thy offerings, and
accept thy burnt sacrifice; Selah. Grant thee according
to thine own heart, and fulfil all thy counsel. We will rejoice in
thy salvation, and in the name of our God we will set up our banners: the Lord fulfil all thy petitions. (Psalm 20.1-5).
Thanks to what Jesus
did in the cross, because of Love to you, now you have the right to be heard by
your heavenly Father in the day of conflict. Be sure that He will send you help
from sanctuary and will fulfil all your requests, because of Love to you and
Love to His Word.
Salvation
belongeth unto the Lord: thy
blessing is upon thy people. (Psalml 3.8).
Never again will this
curse be upon your life! The Lord’s Blessing is yours by right!
The
blessing of the Lord, it
maketh rich, and he addeth no sorrow with it. (Pro 10.22).
If you can believe
God’s Word, for EVERYTHING is possible for those who believe.
I will arise and go
to my father, and will say unto him, Father, I have sinned against heaven, and
before thee, And am no more worthy to be called thy son: make me as one
of thy hired servants. And he arose, and came to his father. But
when he was yet a great way off, his father saw him, and had compassion, and
ran, and fell on his neck, and kissed him. And the son said unto him,
Father, I have sinned against heaven, and in thy sight, and am no more
worthy to be called thy son. But the father
said to his servants, Bring forth the best robe, and put it on him; and
put a ring on his hand, and shoes on his feet: And bring hither the fatted
calf, and kill it; and let us eat, and be merry: For this my son was dead, and
is alive again; he was lost, and is found. And they began to be merry… And he
was angry, and would not go in: therefore came his father out,
and intreated him.And he answering said to his father, Lo, these many
years do I serve thee, neither transgressed I at any time thy
commandment: and yet thou never gavest me a kid, that I might make merry with
my friends: But as soon as this thy son was come, which hath devoured thy
living with harlots, thou hast killed for him the fatted calf. And he said unto him,
Son, thou art ever with me, and all that I have is thine. It was meet
that we should make merry, and be glad: for this thy brother was dead, and is
alive again; and was lost, and is found. (Luke
15.18-24, 28-32).
How different from
what we were talking about the attitudes of both children of the prodigal Son
story. Condemn by the accuser, the first one was willing to live as a servant
for the rest of his life to get something to eat. The second one worked as a servant
so many years without being able to enjoy even a little goat with his friends.
The Father is not
looking for servants. He just wants to love His Children.
For God so loved the
world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him
should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the
world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. (John 3.16-17).
God loves you so much
that He preferred to give up His own Son before losing you!
He doesn’t need
servants, He has millions! And you, my loved one, are, according to the
Scripture, a Child of God, Born Again, not from a corruptible seed, but the
incorruptible one, God’s Word that lives and lingers forever, therefore, know
and look at yourself as blessed and loved by your Father. Don’t be as the
children of the story, who ended up all confused and not knowing who they were.
Receive your identity as a loved Child of God; receive the Love and Blessing
that Jesus Christ bought for you.
Let’s pray out loud:
Dear heavenly Father,
how great and wonderful is Your Love for me! I have no way to pay you and can
only thank you. Thank you, thank you so much! Lord Jesus, the redemption of my
life through the New Pact in Your Blood is much more abundant than what I can
even ask for or even understand. I want to honor that New Pact today by saying
with all certainty that You, Jehovah of the armies, my God and Father, hear me
on the day of conflict. Your name, Oh Jacob’s God, defends me, sends me help from
the sanctuary and you hold me from Zion. Remember all my offerings and accept
my burnt offering. Give me according to the desires of your heart and fulfil
all my advice. I will rejoice in Your salvation and will raise banner in Your
name oh God. Grant me, Jehovah, all my requests. I know now that You, Jehovah,
save Your anointed one; Will hear me from Your holy heavens with the saving
power of Your right hand. These trust in cars and those in horses, but I will
have memory of Jehovah’s, my God, name. These waver and fall, but I rise and
I’m on my feet. Save me Jehovah, You, my King hear me the day I invoke You.
Therefore, today I receive and declare your soon help. I am healthy! I am free!
I am prosperous! I receive the Love, joy and peace that my heavenly Father
bought for me at the price of the New Pact in His Son’s, Jesus, Blood. I am
joyful! In Jesus’ name. Amen.
Note of importance:
How do I become a
Child of God? How do I establish my relationship with the Almighty?
Simply say this
prayer, placing all of your attention and heart into what you’re saying to God:
Lord Jesus, I believe
that you are the Son of God. That you came to this world from the Virgin Mary
to pay for all of my sins, and I have been a sinner. This is why today I tell
you, I accept. I accept your sacrifice on the cross! Yes, I accept Your
precious Blood, spilled to the very last drop, out of love for me! I open my
heart to you and invite you in, because I want you, oh Lord Jesus, to be my one
and only Savior, my God, my King, my Lord. Thank you, God Almighty, for with
this simple prayer and declaration of faith I have come from death to Life, I
have been displaced from the shadows and into Your marvelous Light. Today I
have been Reborn! God I am now Your Child! You are now my Father! I will never
again be alone! Never again will I live defeated. In the name of Jesus. Amen.
