How will you fare when you face the righteous judgment of God?

                <ESPAÑOL>

February 22nd

How will you fare when you face the righteous judgment of God?

You are Righteous, you are the righteousness of God!

By Riqui Ricón*

Wickedness never brings stability, but the godly have deep roots. (Proverbs 12:3, NLT)

As I was going through our reading plan, The Bible in ONE Year, from Honor Word Ministries, I found myself today meditating and wondering: Why is "the righteous" or "righteousness" mentioned 11 times in Proverbs chapter 22, if the Bible clearly states that there are NO righteous people, not even one? Isn't this a contradiction?

What shall we conclude then? Do we have any advantage? Not at all! For we have already made the charge that Jews and Gentiles alike are all under the

power of sin. As it is written: “There is no one righteous, not even one; there is no one who understands; there is no one who seeks God. All have turned away, they have together become worthless; there is no one who does good, not even one.” (Romans 3:9-12, NIV)

Well, in the Bible, which is the Word of God, there is no contradiction at all; and if it mentions the righteous and righteousness, it is talking about you! God put it in writing in His Word so that you could fully understand who you are now, in Christ Jesus—that is, so you may know your New Identity.

For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him. (2 Corinthians 5:21, KJV)

By having accepted and received what Christ Jesus did by dying on the cross and rising again, defeating sin and death, you are now the righteousness of God. Here, most people would incorrectly use the term "unbelievable"; however, for you and me, it is wonderful and entirely believable, because we know who it all comes from: Almighty God. He who is able to do all things much more abundantly than we ask or understand.

That is why we exclaim, amazing! Just meditate on this: while you were dead in trespasses and sins, because of the great Love with which God loves you, He preferred to give up His own Son rather than lose you.

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. (John 3:16, KJV)

Even more amazing is that Jesus became sin so that you could be made the righteousness of God in Him. Because of what Jesus did on the cross—dying to pay for all your sins and rising again to defeat sin and death—now you are truly righteous.

Christ was without sin, but for our sake God made him share our sin in order for us in union with him to share the righteousness of God. (2 Corinthians 5:21, GNT)

The amazing Plan that God drew up for the redemption of your life included placing the sins of the whole world upon His own Son, Jesus, even though He never committed any sin.

All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the Lord hath laid on him the iniquity of us all... And he made his grave with the wicked, and with the rich in his death; because he had done no violence, neither was any deceit in his mouth. (Isaiah 53:6, 9, KJV)

Although at first glance this seems like an injustice (why should the righteous have to pay for the unrighteous?), the Truth is that it happened this way so that you would not die eternally.

For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. (Romans 6:23, KJV)

This was so that through FAITH—by believing God and believing His Word— you would receive this gift, this present which is Eternal Life, an exclusive attribute of God that only He can grant to His children.

Christ suffered for our sins once for all time. He never sinned, but he died for sinners to bring you safely home to God. He suffered physical death, but he was raised to life in the Spirit. (1 Peter 3:18, NLT)

To bring you safely to God, your Father!

Since the children have flesh and blood, he too shared in their humanity so that by his death he might break the power of him who holds the power of death— that is, the devil—and free those who all their lives were held in slavery by their fear of death. (Hebrews 2:14-15, NIV)

Now then, as you can see, you have nothing to worry about. Even though Jesus paid the righteous price for all your sins (the righteous for an unrighteous person), death could not hold Him. He defeated it to make it clear that neither sin nor death can touch you now, because you truly are the righteousness of God.

For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh: That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. (Romans 8:3-4, KJV)

So now, through the New Covenant in the Blood of Jesus, the righteousness of the law was fulfilled in you—not by your past, present, or future actions, but by having believed and accepted the Love that God feels for you, expressed in the sacrifice of His beloved Son, Jesus Christ.

Therefore, since we have been made right in God’s sight by faith, we have peace with God because of what Jesus Christ our Lord has done for us. Because of our faith, Christ has brought us into this place of undeserved privilege where we now stand, and we confidently and joyfully look forward to sharing God’s glory. (Romans 5:1-2, NLT)

And the wonder doesn't end here, for you were justified to be made perfect!

For by one offering he hath perfected for ever them that are sanctified.

(Hebrews 10:14, KJV)

You were justified to be glorified with the very glory of God, which only an authentic and legitimate child of God can hold!

For those God foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brothers and sisters. And

those he predestined, he also called; those he called, he also justified; those he justified, he also glorified. (Romans 8:29-30, NIV)

This is why the world hates you and wages war against you.

See how very much our Father loves us, for he calls us his children, and that is what we are! But the people who belong to this world don’t recognize that we are God’s children because they don’t know him. (1 John 3:1, NLT)

So, take heart! No matter what you have done, you are righteous. You are a beloved, Born-Again child of God!

What shall we say about such wonderful things as these? If God is for us, who can ever be against us? (Romans 8:31, NLT)

Let’s pray out loud:

Beloved heavenly Father, once again today, I want to thank You for the great Love with which You have loved me; that while I was dead in my trespasses and sins, You gave Your own Son, Christ Jesus, to pay in my place. Thus, all justice was fulfilled, and I have been declared righteous before You, the judge of all the earth. Thank You because, furthermore, You have called me Your child and have legally and legitimately adopted me, with the same privileges and obligations that Jesus has. Precious God, all of this allows me to position myself in the Victory You won for me. That is why I believe and declare that, regardless of current circumstances or how I feel today, I, [State your name here], am that child that You, my God and Father, have always desired: righteous, holy, and perfect. I know it because it is written in Your Word, and that is the Truth. I am willing to leave behind all those negative emotions and thoughts of failure and defeat. That old nature has nothing in me, for I have been regenerated in Christ Jesus to live a full and victorious life. I know it because the Bible says it, I believe it because it is Your Word of Honor, and I set myself, with Your help, Holy Spirit, to live it. I will live that prosperous life in health, love, peace, and joy that You, O God, desire for me. I,                                                                                                (your name here), am a Born-Again child of God. I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me, for greater is He who is in me than he who is in the world, and that is You, Precious Spirit of God. I will give no place to the devil

and his lies in my life. I will fear no more! I cast out of my life all anxiety and restlessness. In all things, I am more than a conqueror through Him who loved me, Christ Jesus! I have already been healed by the wounds of Jesus! I have been established to reign in this life by the blood of Jesus! There is no way I can lose, for You, my God and Father, are in me and with me, and if God is for me, who can be against me? I am healed! I am free! I am prosperous! I am happy! In the name of Jesus. Amen.

Important Note:

How do I become a Child of God? How do I establish a relationship with the Almighty?

Just say the following prayer aloud, putting all your attention and heart into what you are saying to God:

Lord Jesus, I believe that You are the Son of God. That You came into this world, born of the virgin Mary, to pay for all my sins, and I have been a sinner. Therefore, today I say that I accept. I accept Your sacrifice on the cross! I accept Your precious Blood shed to the last drop out of love for me! I open my heart to You and invite You in because I want, Lord Jesus, that from today and forever You be my only and sufficient Savior, my God, my King, and my Lord.

Thank You, Almighty God, because with this simple prayer and profession of faith I have passed from death to Life, I have been transferred from darkness to Your marvelous Light. Today I have been Born Again! God, now I am Your Child! Now You are my Father! I will never be alone again! I will never live defeated again. In the name of Jesus. Amen.

Three Recommendations:

What just happened by you recognizing Jesus Christ as the Lord and Savior of your life, according to God's Word, is that you have been Born Again. No longer as an ordinary human being, subject to the law of sin and death, but now as a legitimate and authentic Child of God, Born Again, exactly like Jesus Christ, who is now your Older Brother. Therefore, I give you these three, very important, recommendations:

1.    Pray. Praying is talking with God. So, find a quiet place where you can begin talking to Him about everything. Do it out loud, and you will notice

how God always responds to your heart.

2.    Read and meditate on the Word of God. The Bible is the Word of God, so get a Bible and start reading and meditating on it. How do you begin? It’s very simple. Depending on the day, look up the reading program “The

Bible in One Year” and do the corresponding readings. You can get this program at: Through The Bible In One Year (palabradehonor.org). You will notice that the program is set up so you can print it as a booklet.

3.    In prayer with God, your Father, look for and join a Christian church or congregation where the Word of God is taught based on the Good News, which are the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Reading and Meditation on the Word of God

Do these daily readings, and by the end of one year you will have read the entire Bible.

February 22    Matthew 4 / Exodus 25-27 / Proverbs 12 Matthew

4 Then was Jesus led up of the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted of the

devil.

2  And when he had fasted forty days and forty nights, he was afterward an hungred.

3  And when the tempter came to him, he said, If thou be the Son of God, command that these stones be made bread.

4  But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.

5  Then the devil taketh him up into the holy city, and setteth him on a pinnacle of the temple,

6  And saith unto him, If thou be the Son of God, cast thyself down: for it is written, He shall give his angels charge concerning thee: and in their hands they shall bear thee up, lest at any time thou dash thy foot against a stone.

7  Jesus said unto him, It is written again, Thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God.

8  Again, the devil taketh him up into an exceeding high mountain, and sheweth him all the kingdoms of the world, and the glory of them;

9  And saith unto him, All these things will I give thee, if thou wilt fall down and worship me.

10  Then saith Jesus unto him, Get thee hence, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve.

11  Then the devil leaveth him, and, behold, angels came and ministered unto him.

12  Now when Jesus had heard that John was cast into prison, he departed into Galilee;

13  And leaving Nazareth, he came and dwelt in Capernaum, which is upon the sea coast, in the borders of Zabulon and Nephthalim:

14  That it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Esaias the prophet, saying,

15  The land of Zabulon, and the land of Nephthalim, by the way of the sea, beyond Jordan, Galilee of the Gentiles;

16  The people which sat in darkness saw great light; and to them which sat in the region and shadow of death light is sprung up.

17  From that time Jesus began to preach, and to say, Repent: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.

18  And Jesus, walking by the sea of Galilee, saw two brethren, Simon called Peter, and Andrew his brother, casting a net into the sea: for they were fishers.

19  And he saith unto them, Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men.

20  And they straightway left their nets, and followed him.

21  And going on from thence, he saw other two brethren, James the son of Zebedee, and John his brother, in a ship with Zebedee their father, mending their nets; and he called them.

22  And they immediately left the ship and their father, and followed him.

23  And Jesus went about all Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing all manner of sickness and all manner of disease among the people.

24  And his fame went throughout all Syria: and they brought unto him all sick people that were taken with divers diseases and torments, and those which were possessed with devils, and those which were lunatick, and those that had the palsy; and he healed them.

25  And there followed him great multitudes of people from Galilee, and from Decapolis, and from Jerusalem, and from Judaea, and from beyond Jordan.

Exodus

25 And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,

2  Speak unto the children of Israel, that they bring me an offering: of every man that giveth it willingly with his heart ye shall take my offering.

3  And this is the offering which ye shall take of them; gold, and silver, and brass,

4  And blue, and purple, and scarlet, and fine linen, and goats' hair,

5  And rams' skins dyed red, and badgers' skins, and shittim wood,

6  Oil for the light, spices for anointing oil, and for sweet incense,

7  Onyx stones, and stones to be set in the ephod, and in the breastplate.

8  And let them make me a sanctuary; that I may dwell among them.

9  According to all that I shew thee, after the pattern of the tabernacle, and the pattern of all the instruments thereof, even so shall ye make it.

10  And they shall make an ark of shittim wood: two cubits and a half shall be the length thereof, and a cubit and a half the breadth thereof, and a cubit and a half the height thereof.

11  And thou shalt overlay it with pure gold, within and without shalt thou overlay it, and shalt make upon it a crown of gold round about.

12  And thou shalt cast four rings of gold for it, and put them in the four corners thereof; and two rings shall be in the one side of it, and two rings in the other side of it.

13  And thou shalt make staves of shittim wood, and overlay them with gold.

14  And thou shalt put the staves into the rings by the sides of the ark, that the ark may be borne with them.

15  The staves shall be in the rings of the ark: they shall not be taken from it.

16  And thou shalt put into the ark the testimony which I shall give thee.

17  And thou shalt make a mercy seat of pure gold: two cubits and a half shall be the length thereof, and a cubit and a half the breadth thereof.

18  And thou shalt make two cherubims of gold, of beaten work shalt thou make them, in the two ends of the mercy seat.

19  And make one cherub on the one end, and the other cherub on the other end: even of the mercy seat shall ye make the cherubims on the two ends thereof.

20  And the cherubims shall stretch forth their wings on high, covering the mercy seat with their wings, and their faces shall look one to another; toward the mercy seat shall the faces of the cherubims be.

21  And thou shalt put the mercy seat above upon the ark; and in the ark thou shalt put the testimony that I shall give thee.

22  And there I will meet with thee, and I will commune with thee from above the mercy seat, from between the two cherubims which are upon the ark of the testimony, of all things which I will give thee in commandment unto the children of Israel.

23  Thou shalt also make a table of shittim wood: two cubits shall be the length thereof, and a cubit the breadth thereof, and a cubit and a half the height thereof.

24  And thou shalt overlay it with pure gold, and make thereto a crown of gold round about.

25  And thou shalt make unto it a border of an hand breadth round about, and thou shalt make a golden crown to the border thereof round about.

26  And thou shalt make for it four rings of gold, and put the rings in the four corners that are on the four feet thereof.

27  Over against the border shall the rings be for places of the staves to bear the table.

28  And thou shalt make the staves of shittim wood, and overlay them with gold, that the table may be borne with them.

29  And thou shalt make the dishes thereof, and spoons thereof, and covers thereof, and bowls thereof, to cover withal: of pure gold shalt thou make them.

30  And thou shalt set upon the table shewbread before me alway.

31  And thou shalt make a candlestick of pure gold: of beaten work shall the candlestick be made: his shaft, and his branches, his bowls, his knops, and his flowers, shall be of the same.

32  And six branches shall come out of the sides of it; three branches of the candlestick out of the one side, and three branches of the candlestick out of the other side:

33  Three bowls made like unto almonds, with a knop and a flower in one branch; and three bowls made like almonds in the other branch, with a knop and a flower: so in the six branches that come out of the candlestick.

34  And in the candlesticks shall be four bowls made like unto almonds, with their knops and their flowers.

35  And there shall be a knop under two branches of the same, and a knop under two branches of the same, and a knop under two branches of the same, according to the six branches that proceed out of the candlestick.

36  Their knops and their branches shall be of the same: all it shall be one beaten work of pure gold.

37  And thou shalt make the seven lamps thereof: and they shall light the lamps thereof, that they may give light over against it.

38  And the tongs thereof, and the snuffdishes thereof, shall be of pure gold.

39  Of a talent of pure gold shall he make it, with all these vessels.

40  And look that thou make them after their pattern, which was shewed thee in the mount.

26  Moreover thou shalt make the tabernacle with ten curtains of fine twined linen, and blue, and purple, and scarlet: with cherubims of cunning work shalt thou make them.

2  The length of one curtain shall be eight and twenty cubits, and the breadth of one curtain four cubits: and every one of the curtains shall have one measure.

3  The five curtains shall be coupled together one to another; and other five curtains shall be coupled one to another.

4  And thou shalt make loops of blue upon the edge of the one curtain from the selvedge in the coupling; and likewise shalt thou make in the uttermost edge of another curtain, in the coupling of the second.

5  Fifty loops shalt thou make in the one curtain, and fifty loops shalt thou make in the edge of the curtain that is in the coupling of the second; that the loops may take hold one of another.

6  And thou shalt make fifty taches of gold, and couple the curtains together with the taches: and it shall be one tabernacle.

7  And thou shalt make curtains of goats' hair to be a covering upon the tabernacle: eleven curtains shalt thou make.

8  The length of one curtain shall be thirty cubits, and the breadth of one curtain four cubits: and the eleven curtains shall be all of one measure.

9  And thou shalt couple five curtains by themselves, and six curtains by themselves, and shalt double the sixth curtain in the forefront of the tabernacle.

10  And thou shalt make fifty loops on the edge of the one curtain that is outmost in the coupling, and fifty loops in the edge of the curtain which coupleth the second.

11  And thou shalt make fifty taches of brass, and put the taches into the loops, and couple the tent together, that it may be one.

12  And the remnant that remaineth of the curtains of the tent, the half curtain that remaineth, shall hang over the backside of the tabernacle.

13  And a cubit on the one side, and a cubit on the other side of that which remaineth in the length of the curtains of the tent, it shall hang over the sides of the tabernacle on this side and on that side, to cover it.

14  And thou shalt make a covering for the tent of rams' skins dyed red, and a covering above of badgers' skins.

15  And thou shalt make boards for the tabernacle of shittim wood standing up.

16  Ten cubits shall be the length of a board, and a cubit and a half shall be the breadth of one board.

17  Two tenons shall there be in one board, set in order one against another: thus shalt thou make for all the boards of the tabernacle.

18  And thou shalt make the boards for the tabernacle, twenty boards on the south side southward.

19  And thou shalt make forty sockets of silver under the twenty boards; two sockets under one board for his two tenons, and two sockets under another board for his two tenons.

20  And for the second side of the tabernacle on the north side there shall be twenty boards:

21  And their forty sockets of silver; two sockets under one board, and two sockets under another board.

22  And for the sides of the tabernacle westward thou shalt make six boards.

23  And two boards shalt thou make for the corners of the tabernacle in the two sides.

24  And they shall be coupled together beneath, and they shall be coupled together above the head of it unto one ring: thus shall it be for them both; they shall be for the two corners.

25  And they shall be eight boards, and their sockets of silver, sixteen sockets; two sockets under one board, and two sockets under another board.

26  And thou shalt make bars of shittim wood; five for the boards of the one side of the tabernacle,

27  And five bars for the boards of the other side of the tabernacle, and five bars for the boards of the side of the tabernacle, for the two sides westward.

28  And the middle bar in the midst of the boards shall reach from end to end.

29  And thou shalt overlay the boards with gold, and make their rings of gold for places for the bars: and thou shalt overlay the bars with gold.

30  And thou shalt rear up the tabernacle according to the fashion thereof which was shewed thee in the mount.

31  And thou shalt make a vail of blue, and purple, and scarlet, and fine twined linen of cunning work: with cherubims shall it be made:

32  And thou shalt hang it upon four pillars of shittim wood overlaid with gold: their hooks shall be of gold, upon the four sockets of silver.

33  And thou shalt hang up the vail under the taches, that thou mayest bring in thither within the vail the ark of the testimony: and the vail shall divide unto you between the holy place and the most holy.

34  And thou shalt put the mercy seat upon the ark of the testimony in the most holy place.

35  And thou shalt set the table without the vail, and the candlestick over against the table on the side of the tabernacle toward the south: and thou shalt put the table on the north side.

36  And thou shalt make an hanging for the door of the tent, of blue, and purple, and scarlet, and fine twined linen, wrought with needlework.

37  And thou shalt make for the hanging five pillars of shittim wood, and overlay them with gold, and their hooks shall be of gold: and thou shalt cast five sockets of brass for them.

27  And thou shalt make an altar of shittim wood, five cubits long, and five cubits broad; the altar shall be foursquare: and the height thereof shall be three cubits.

2  And thou shalt make the horns of it upon the four corners thereof: his horns shall be of the same: and thou shalt overlay it with brass.

3  And thou shalt make his pans to receive his ashes, and his shovels, and his basons, and his fleshhooks, and his firepans: all the vessels thereof thou shalt make of brass.

4  And thou shalt make for it a grate of network of brass; and upon the net shalt thou make four brasen rings in the four corners thereof.

5  And thou shalt put it under the compass of the altar beneath, that the net may be even to the midst of the altar.

6  And thou shalt make staves for the altar, staves of shittim wood, and overlay them with brass.

7  And the staves shall be put into the rings, and the staves shall be upon the two sides of the altar, to bear it.

8  Hollow with boards shalt thou make it: as it was shewed thee in the mount, so shall they make it.

9  And thou shalt make the court of the tabernacle: for the south side southward there shall be hangings for the court of fine twined linen of an hundred cubits long for one side:

10  And the twenty pillars thereof and their twenty sockets shall be of brass; the hooks of the pillars and their fillets shall be of silver.

11  And likewise for the north side in length there shall be hangings of an hundred cubits long, and his twenty pillars and their twenty sockets of brass; the hooks of the pillars and their fillets of silver.

12  And for the breadth of the court on the west side shall be hangings of fifty cubits: their pillars ten, and their sockets ten.

13  And the breadth of the court on the east side eastward shall be fifty cubits.

14  The hangings of one side of the gate shall be fifteen cubits: their pillars three, and their sockets three.

15  And on the other side shall be hangings fifteen cubits: their pillars three, and their sockets three.

16  And for the gate of the court shall be an hanging of twenty cubits, of blue, and purple, and scarlet, and fine twined linen, wrought with needlework: and their pillars shall be four, and their sockets four.

17  All the pillars round about the court shall be filleted with silver; their hooks shall be of silver, and their sockets of brass.

18  The length of the court shall be an hundred cubits, and the breadth fifty every where, and the height five cubits of fine twined linen, and their sockets of brass.

19  All the vessels of the tabernacle in all the service thereof, and all the pins thereof, and all the pins of the court, shall be of brass.

20  And thou shalt command the children of Israel, that they bring thee pure oil olive beaten for the light, to cause the lamp to burn always.

21  In the tabernacle of the congregation without the vail, which is before the testimony, Aaron and his sons shall order it from evening to morning before the LORD: it shall be a statute for ever unto their generations on the behalf of the children of Israel.

Proverbs

12 Whoso loveth instruction loveth knowledge: but he that hateth reproof is brutish.

2  A good man obtaineth favour of the LORD: but a man of wicked devices will he condemn.

3  A man shall not be established by wickedness: but the root of the righteous shall not be moved.

4  A virtuous woman is a crown to her husband: but she that maketh ashamed is as rottenness in his bones.

5  The thoughts of the righteous are right: but the counsels of the wicked are deceit.

6  The words of the wicked are to lie in wait for blood: but the mouth of the upright shall deliver them.

7  The wicked are overthrown, and are not: but the house of the righteous shall stand.

8  A man shall be commended according to his wisdom: but he that is of a perverse heart shall be despised.

9  He that is despised, and hath a servant, is better than he that honoureth himself, and lacketh bread.

10  A righteous man regardeth the life of his beast: but the tender mercies of the wicked are cruel.

11  He that tilleth his land shall be satisfied with bread: but he that followeth vain persons is void of understanding.

12  The wicked desireth the net of evil men: but the root of the righteous yieldeth fruit.

13  The wicked is snared by the transgression of his lips: but the just shall come out of trouble.

14  A man shall be satisfied with good by the fruit of his mouth: and the recompence of a man's hands shall be rendered unto him.

15  The way of a fool is right in his own eyes: but he that hearkeneth unto counsel is wise.

16  A fool's wrath is presently known: but a prudent man covereth shame.

17  He that speaketh truth sheweth forth righteousness: but a false witness deceit.

18  There is that speaketh like the piercings of a sword: but the tongue of the wise is health.

19  The lip of truth shall be established for ever: but a lying tongue is but for a moment.

20  Deceit is in the heart of them that imagine evil: but to the counsellors of peace is joy.

21  There shall no evil happen to the just: but the wicked shall be filled with mischief.

22  Lying lips are abomination to the LORD: but they that deal truly are his delight.

23  A prudent man concealeth knowledge: but the heart of fools proclaimeth foolishness.

24  The hand of the diligent shall bear rule: but the slothful shall be under tribute.

25  Heaviness in the heart of man maketh it stoop: but a good word maketh it glad.

26  The righteous is more excellent than his neighbour: but the way of the wicked seduceth them.

27  The slothful man roasteth not that which he took in hunting: but the substance of a diligent man is precious.

28  In the way of righteousness is life: and in the pathway thereof there is no death.
